Beautiful location, walking distance to the gym and the best bar in town
Beautiful place. We had a hiccup on checking which was immediately rectified by the property owner so we had an amazing stay. Absolutely stunning views, nice and comfortable place. We will go back for sure!
Pleasant stay; relaxing. Apartment was close walking distance to a nice quiet beach.
The road out to Choya Bay is rather bumpy, fast driver will mess up their shocksâŠ
The only other bump in the stay was that the wifi was unavailable for the duration of the stay, and the televisions donât work(?) idk couldnât figure them out.
Altogether a good experience as we were mostly just wanting to get away from the everyday hustle.
Thank you host Scott.
Cozy, bigger than what it looks like in the pictures! Great place over in Cholla with good views and close to JJ's. Great view of R. Clyne's house too! I gave four stars for cleanliness because there was just sand all over the floor, but you're in Penasco the whole place is covered in sand. Everything was great and would definitely stay again
360 views, great atmosphere and very accommodating host! Beds were comfy, open living room and kitchen. Cholla bay is a perfect location to be in a cool area with cool people but not too far from town.
The place is comfortable for a short stay. Have access to beautiful gulf view within walking distance. I spend my time looking at the pelicans and seagulls flight.
The porch bay views are great. Kitchen well supplied. Comfortable beds. Well worth the price. Fun to be in this quaint, funky, safe part of Mexico. Good restaurants and friendly people.
The house itself is nice. Pleasant decor, not under and not overly decorated. The reason for the low rating is first off in order to get into the property we were instructed to call Scott, the owner, for the code to the lock box. Scott sent our calls to voicemail and didn't respond via call nor text. We had to contact the owner of the condo next door for her to contact him and get in touch with us. A BIG thumbs down on that. Second, the listing indicated there was filtered bottled water in the condo for drinking and NOT to drink the tap because, and I quote, "...it is Mexico." Well there was a dispensary with an empty jug sitting on top. That put us in a panic. Second thumbs down. Third, the guest bedroom's air-conditioning unit was broken. Puerto Peñasco is HOT. Not having air in there was difficult sleeping. The owner said he would have someone out the next day, however, it was fixed 2 days later, but it was fixed. The guest bedroom also had no electricity in the outlets. No functioning lights, not TV, outlet's we're hanging out of the wall, a real fire hazard, but no lighting at all for the evening to night. You have to do everything in that room by the flashlight on your phone. There's instructions framed inside the house which read water usage is limited and if you go over, you are responsible to have the water shipped in at your expense. That is a BIG detail that should be included in the listing! Additionally, the condo is on septic and instructions posted inside the house read no disposing of toilet paper in the toilets, use garbage cans. Eeewh. Again, would be nice to have a heads up on that PRIOR to renting. Well there you have it. That's why I would rate this property a 2.5*. It was pretty inside and great TV service but that's relatively low on my list.
The property is far cuter than the pictures show
The owner is a great guy and very responsive. He made sure that everything was taken care of. Great guy. Great stay
When we arrive the air units were off so my advise please turn on the air units before the guess arrive, second one bedroom air unit the remote didn't have batteries and the secure box for the key wasn't friendly to open even the person there trying to help couldn't open it. And last that air unit was not cooling properly that my son had a hard time sleeping in that room. I would not be staying here in the feature. AH
The communication with the manager was perfect. Itâs important when traveling abroad in the desert. The view from the unit is magnificent, the beach with dolphins is at three minutes. I worked remotely from the unit, and the wifi was terrific. One bed is very good, but another is too small for its king mattress. However, the mattress itself is extremely comfortable.
Scott was good to deal with any problems that arose, only thing that would have been nice would have been to have a binder in the rental with information, map of the area, ph # for police, phone # for medical, a few things to do in the area, instructions on how to run the heat/air conditioning, instructions on available t.v. channels , how to use the television remotes, etc. we stay in quite a few VRBO,s and most have one, itâs just really handy if you are new to the area. But overall it was great and Scott was good to work with. Thanks
I enjoyed cholla bay. The beach is near by. The neighborhood is interesting, fun, and full of its own unique culture. Not sure about the coffee machine it just shoots out steam. Had to go get my own purified water down at the local grocery store.
We had a great experience! Me, my wife and our two sons (early 20s). The condo gave us plenty of space to relax. I spent every morning on the balcony reading and enjoying the view. The beach was beautiful and never crowded. Easy access just a hundred yards up the road. Low tide left lots of shells to collect. It is far enough from town to give us plenty of quiet and privacy, but close enough to get to all the fun restaurants and recreation places. The only problem we had was no internet, but Scott got that fixed and it worked great. We are planning a return trip in the future.
Small leak from the plumbing in the standalone bathroom and the shower in the master show drains slow. Minor issues for a fabulous place to stay. Thanks Scott and Team, see you next time!
My wife and I fell in love with Rocky Point over 20 years ago. We built our first rental condo in 2004 and just recently decided to build 4 more while we're still young enough to do it! Our goal is to retire in this wonderful community along with many other folks we've learned to know and love! The locals are very friendly and always welcome us with a hand shake and a smile!
We've watched what used to be a small fishing town evolve into a beautiful vacation spot with a similar look and feel of Cabo San still on a smaller scale. The slower pace of Rocky Point as compared to other popular vacation spots is as welcoming as it is relaxing making it much more family friendly than other popular hot spots. However, when you've had all of the relaxation that you can stand, a short drive or cab ride into The Malecon (aka: Fish Market) provides plenty of dining, dancing, music and shopping enough to keep even the busiest of people on their toes! The variety of restaurants, shops, and bars provide fun for every age group!! Try them all and pick your favorites because they each offer something just a little different than the next one!
Our Condos are located in a smaller beach community making them much more relaxing and family friendly. The waters on Tucson Beach in Cholla Bay are typically calmer than other areas of the Sea of Cortez making this area easier to swim, float, snorkel, jet ski, paddle name it! Cholla Bay has one of the world's largest tide fluctuations making it a great place to view many of the living reefs that surround the areas next to the soft sandy beaches. When the tide is out, take a long stroll into the sand and explore the little gifts that the sea leaves behind such as shells with little hermit crabs living inside of them. And yes, if you find shells that you want to take home, please be sure that the shell is not home to a living love those little guys!
