We really enjoyed our stay at this quirky property which is like an oasis just minutes from the center of old town. It was a shame that the pool was out of action but it was October. Helpful and communicative host. Would definitely stay here again.
What an amazing house and location. The property was large anough for the kids to play outside. The common spaces of the house were fantastic for larger groups. The location close to central Beziers was fantastic. Thank you.
The house offers plenty of space and a private garden within easy walking distance of the restaurants, sites and shops of ancient Beziers.
It was an ideal house for us to stay with our adult sons and their partners - as there was a large living and kitchen area for socialising and cooking together.
The small pool in the wooded hillside garden was also great for sunny afternoons. We didnât need to hire a car as Beziers public transport was plentiful and great value for trips to the coast and other towns in the region.
The house is very comfortable but also âlived inâ. This suited us but itâs not a show home.
Weâd love to go back.
The house and gardens were neglected. The cleanliness was disappointing. I can imagine that the property was beautiful in the past, but now needs a lot of attention. I complained to the owner, who took on board my comments and provided some compensation.
Excellent accommodation for the family. Needs some TLC and maintenance. Freezer needs defrosted. One downstairs bedroom has two very loose sockets. Pool leaking and attracting wasps drinking the water. Bedroom lights in one bedroom down to one bulb. One patio chair has tie wraps on with sharp edges. I cut the back of my leg on it. A lot of the plateâs are badly chipped. I thought when I first booked, that it mentions a games room. Also two room had single beds, If that was the case then paper work needs updated. Overall a great venue and the comment above are minor, but you may wish to act on them. Regards Alan
We spent a very nice few days in Beziers. The house is perfectly located for the city and for making trips to the surrounding areas. There is plenty to see and do in the town and around about. The open plan living area and the dining terrace work very well for a group of people. The house is well equipped, including lots of books and games as well as the usual kitchen equipment. It felt like a home. We were group of 5 so were very well catered for in terms of space; the soft seating in the lounge area itself might be a little tight for 10 adults, however! The house was very clean and as described. It felt peaceful and visually interesting in the midst of the rather wild garden. We parked in the street outside the pedestrian gate for the main part and found this to be a good solution to the steep drive.
We stayed here for 10 days, my wife and I and our son and his wife and their 2 children. The AC worked well, thankfully, because it was very hot. We found the place very well-supplied with kitchen and other items, which was great. The place is full of character, a building with some history, converted for present-day use. Short walk to shopping and restaurants, 10 min to the centre of town. The small pool was perfect for the two children and for adults to have a dip and cool off. Great views to the south from various spots on the walk down from the gate to the house. The drive down from the gate is difficult but manageable; getting back up and out the gate is more of a test, but also doable. We would definitely rent again.
A super comfortable house exactly as described. Very well equipped with layout great for social fun and meals with our group. Literally a 7-10 minute walk (uphill) to centre of town with a great choice of shops and restaurants. Owners recommendations were perfect for supermarkets, markets and restaurants. Loved our stay.
We had a perfect stay at this house in the middle of Beziers. Mark, the owner was very nice and answered very fast all the questions / doubts I had. It is literally a huge house with a massive garden in the middle of the town. We enjoyed very much the garden and pool. The kitchen as well is very nicely done, with everything we needed, we even got welcomed with some wine. Note though that it has quite a lot of stairs, but for us it was perfect. We will for sure be back!
I truly enjoyed my stay. The house and property offer cozy privacy and the feeling of being in the countryside. While the location is just a short walk from shops, restaurants, and interesting sites of a bustling historic district. I highly recommend this property for the best of both quiet relaxation and the excitement and activity of the historic town.
Beautiful house in a lovely town. Well equipped and comfortable house with everything we needed . Beziers is a lovely town with a range of restaurants and enough to keep the family occupied. The house is close to the centre of town and all it offers, but it is very quiet and secluded, surrounded by fabulous garden . We will definitely be back .
We had a great week in Maison Cambo! We were 9 adults, all family and never felt crowded. Both indoor and outdoor spaces were lovely, comfortable and spacious. The house is an easy walk to Beziers Centre with grocery market and a beautiful park. The local market is even closer. The village is not very touristy, which was very nice. It was easy to make day trips to Carcassonne, Narbonne and Sete. The owner was very accessible for questions. We would definitely go back!
We had a fantastic stay here! The villa is a fantastic size with the most amazing garden. Literally a 10min walk to the centre of Beziers, but the grounds are so huge you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside. We had a minibus and so the extra drive situated at the back of the house was handy. Can't wait to stay again!
Seven of us stayed in Maison Cambo for 3 nights while we did a bit of cycling on the Canal de Midi. The house had everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, good quality bedding and towels, great showers, comfortable sofas, a lovely outdoor space for eating and a swimming pool. It is also close to the town centre for shops and restaurants.
Well the property speaks for itself - perfect location and beautiful setting. Why Cambo? Well, it's named after the magical stately home in Scotland where we got married!
