This pretty little apartment is well-appointed and is a short walk to both the Cite and the local town. The view is spectacular. You will not regret staying here.
I was there a week, having stayed in the area 3 times before. All in all, this was my best accommodations. The apartment was great aside from a couple of minor plumbing problems, but he's working on those. And I suggested he put a curtain on the bedroom window! :-)
And an escalator up the hill to the Cite would be nice too! ;-) Oooh, or a tramway! :-)
For location you couldnât find a better place just down the hill from the aude gate into the medieval city and a short walk over the medical bridge into the main town. The apartment was beautifully finished with all that was needed to make this a very pleasurable self catering holiday. There are plenty of places to eat in the city but it was nice to be able to visit the markets and knock up a quick dinner after exploring the great historical sights in the vicinity of Carcassonne. If you are staying for more than a few days then a car is essential to explore the surrounding area.
The apartment was great for the three of us. An amazing view, exactly as pictured, and a very comfortable, newly renovated apartment. It is quiet and peaceful, and within easy walking distance of both the medieval city and the new town across the river. We had a great visit and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Carcassonne. The owners were very friendly and helpful with recommendations.
Location, location, location! Properties like this do not become available on the market that often, it was a case of knowing the area thoroughly and therefore using that knowledge to buy this property when it became available.
Location, location, location - those views.....The Cite and ramparts you really don't get closer than this to a World Heritage site. Car not necessary.
