It was a lovely stay! We booked for a few nights it was clean and walking distance to the beach restaurants, go cart and water park! Very lovely beach!
Very relaxing getaway! Friendly 24 hour desk staff. This beach on the south end of island is very relaxing and has putt putt, go-karts, and waterslide super close. 35 minute ride to Beaufort to catch ferry ride to see wild horses on Shackleford Island. Clean rooms and updated facility. Also there is no ooking allowed, but you do have microwave and fridge.Gave only four stars because pool was closed for repairs and had been for months, but the staff never told me on the phone....they informed me when I arrived :(
This place is not a condo with a kitchen. I guess I missed that in the description. There is a microwave and a small refrigerator. There is a nice medium sized pool and youâre right on the beach. But we were hoping to save some money and cook some meals, but there is no stove. It is essentially a nice large motel room. I wish he had one other side table next to the bed thereâs only one on one side. And thereâs no closet. Lots of drawers!! So if youâre looking for a low priced place to stay on Emerald Isle and donât want to cook and donât have anything to hang up, this is the place for you.
It was very nice, the employees were wonderful, front desk, maintenance and housekeeping. I guess most of the other people were very friendly, there were several very racist guest, but you find that wherever you go in the United States, unfortunately.
This property was conveniently located on the beach, however, the room and overall property itself was not thoroughly clean and lacked upkeep. I not only had to contact the property manager, but also the hotel staff, on multiple occasions due to ongoing leaks in the room. Unfortunately, I will not being a second customer nor would I recommend this property.
We enjoyed our stay at The Islander, which is basically a hotel/motel. I would stay here again should I return to Emerald Isle. The property is clean and well maintained. Most rooms do not have a direct ocean view, so just know that in advance. We could see a small patch of the water from our balcony. Even with the obstructed view, the salt air was refreshing and light.
While I love Emerald Isle and enjoyed my time here the room was not the room advertised. When I questioned the front desk the response was that they âdonât give the good rooms to VRBO bookingsâ - beware.
The cleanliness of the room(s) is debatable as there was a dirty washcloth hanging on the shower rod. Didnât notice it until I had returned in the evening...
This was our first time in Emerald Isle, we loved it! This hotel is in the perfect spot. It was clean, spacious & the staff was very friendly. Already planning another trip! đ
This property is beautiful! We loved the location in relation to everything else Emerald Isle has to offer. 5-10 short minutes to most places. We were balling on a budget and had planned to cook for every meal but thankfully we read the reviews before booking because they do not have a full kitchen, just a microwave, and the mini fridge is quite mini. When we got here our room wasnât ready for almost 2 hours AFTER the check in time. I also never once was able to get ahold of Dixon, the property manager, despite calling and messaging him multiple times. Those are the only things I would complain about though. The beach and the pool are not far from the room at all which was sooo convenient. They have two hammocks that overlook the ocean that we spent lots of time in. The property is just really beautiful. I would stay here again!
Beach access was perfect and only a few steps away. However, the place itself was very outdated and the AC was an old style window unit that didnât reach the whole hotel room. We sweated every night until 2am. The front desk gave us fans but nothing more. There was only one person working the desk who doubled as the maintenance man on 4th of July week and we often had to wait 20-30 mins at the front desk for his return.
This was an excellent location near everything. We were right in the ocean. You could walk to shops, restaurants and even the pier if you were up for it. The pier had free parking and was awesome. We found a great beach at Fort Macon! We even rode the ferry to Shackleford Banks and watched the wild horses. An amazing adventure. The room was well furnished and newly remodeled. The only thing I would change is to have more places to hang your wet towels and swimsuits. There were no towel or closet racks. The bed was huge and comfy and the sofa was big and comfy enough to sleep 2. You will love your stay!
We were very pleased with the location on the beach. The resort pool had a great view of the beach as well. The staff was very helpful with any needs. I would return to this resort.
Apparently this guy owns several places at this resort. At first, the front desk said there were no rooms with an ocean view. We persisted and got one with ocean view on second floor. Granted, it was St. Patrick's Day weekend and they were pretty booked. It was so nicely decorated!!!!! We had an awesome stay. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. No maid service so bring extra toilet paper. Haha. I would do this again hoping we could get an ocean view again. Awesome hotel!!!
This is a nice, clean, new place. But it is not "cozy" at all. Everything that can be plastic IS plastic. If one person goes to bed and the other wants to stay up to read, the light goes over the partial wall, so the sleeper can't have a dark room. On the other hand, it is clean, it is close to the beach, but it is just cheap. On the other hand, the price is low, so what do you want? I would just rather have some place with a more personal feeling. No coffee in the lobby, long walk from the beach end to the lobby at the front. Clean space for sleep, but not a "getaway" space, for me.
Nice room. E-xellent staff. Right on beach. With pool.
Nice place. Looks like it was an old beach motel that was completely (completely) gutted, remodeled and the units were sold off as condos. But the place is managed like a hotel - 24 hr front desk, clean the rooms, little sundries shop. Most rooms have a little balcony, brand new furnishings, wood/tile floors. They removed the tub and replaced with a nice large shower.
Pool is great. Right on beach. Little cabanas if you want to get out of sun. Even a guy selling mixed drinks and beer (But the chairs are super hard - not comfy at all. Bring your own!)
Beach is nice, clean. Good for long walks in either direction.
Nice grass area by the beach where they do weddings.
Best part - the front desk. The girl who checked us in was "on it" and all the employees seemed connected and helping each other. Just made it easy. The kicker: we checked out and left my phone plugged into the wall ... with my credit card. Maid turned ut in and the front desk sent messages to me (if i had been on another device). And they answered a call (my sister) and were able to contact me. Thank goodness we had just moved to a house down the beach. They were so very considerate. (Thank you!)
The Ocean was great, not too crowded. The room was well kept. The girl at he front desk had NO INTEREST in small talk, not the social type. Why do they call it the hospitality Industry? Send her the memo.
Nice room and clean but a little bit of false advertising in my opinion
We were initially happy with the accommodations at the Islander until we realized that the photos listed for our unit were not correct. I purchased through VRBO instead of the Islander directly because it showed us having an ocean front patio for the cost of a regular king. The hotel was also undergoing renovations so the tv and phone were both out but we were warned of potential issues when we checked in. Overall we had a good stay despite the terrible weather and a bit of false advertising on behalf of the vrbo listing.
Beautiful property with amazing views and access to the beach!
One of the best places I have ever stayed. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
The property is very well maintained and extremely clean. Well worth every penny spent.
