Cute little house with a lovely yard. The best part is it’s close enough to town to walk.
Charming Red House
Loved our stay at the Little Red House! Very charming. Beds were comfy & the home was very clean. The kitchen was lacking a few items but we made due. The home is on a corner so you do get the occasional loud car/truck going by. Easy walk into town, loved that! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Faythe for sharing your home.
I'm very happy y'all enjoyed yourselves at the Little Red, and will take stock of my kitchen wares ( always appreciate input, thanks a lot ).
I hope you'll stay again sometime; you are most welcome!
Impeccably clean, irresistibly charming
This tiny and rustic cabin was surprisingly comfortable, scrupulouly clean, and wonderfully relaxing. We had a perfect summer weekend here lounging in the hammock, walking into town for dinner and milkshakes, and wandering down to the farmer's market. The owner, Faythe, clearly has great attention to detail which shows up in ways big and small -- thoughtful amenities for guests, and charming decor throughout.
I've been in Maine visiting relatives in an old family home built in 1760,
which makes the 100-year-old little red house seem like a youngster. But, she is sweet isn't she?- built by a miner named Rich in 1918.
You enjoyed the same things I do! But, then, who doesn't like hammocks and milkshakes?
I'm grateful to you for one of the kindest reviews I've ever received. This is why I now love sharing my home, but never could have predicted how rewarding it would be. Thanks for taking the time.
You were a breeze to communicate with, and considerate all the way.
Just what we needed. Place is even better than the pictures. Faythe takes such pride in the property and in making sure her guests feel welcome. Her communication was so helpful. We ended up having to come a day late and she graciously offered to let us stay a day later at no charge. Incredible hospitality. If you want a place to relax and take a deep breath - this is your spot. Hope to return next year!
Is it even possible?! That parents with two 4-year-old twins could leave my home cleaner than when they arrived ? And I try hard to make it nice, truly. I wondered if I'd made it clear on my site that I'm the one responsible for washing linens and scrubbing floors. I polled a couple of friends to see if they thought I was too vague about it or whether Beth was 'just that kind of woman' that she'd take on the chores, an extension of her own personal pride. They supposed the latter. Me too.
Anyway, thanks Dear! And, please come back next year when I need help with my spring cleaning!! You and your family are welcome anytime; thanks so much for your respect and elbow grease :)
My favorite house in my favorite little town.
This house has all of the rustic charm that draws people to the historic town of Roslyn. The beds are very comfortable and the home is clean and inviting. Faythe is wonderful to work with. I'm so grateful that she offers her little red gem to others to rent. I miss it already, two days after coming home.
This lovely woman has been returning to the little red house year after year with her sister, her mother, and now, her own little nuclear family, husband, daughter, and nature-loving son. These folks are more to me than guests, they're family, and have as much a right to the history of this place as I do, the temporary guardian in this life. One hundred years ago, a man named Rich bought the property for $34, built his home, and we're now sharing his legacy. Thanks for appreciating it Maureen. Please come back whenever you can! xoxo
Very inviting, clean, and well decorated older home. Beds were clean and comfortable. Living room was kept toasty warm with propane stove while we played board games. Highly recommend this cozy getaway.
