Only compliments for this nice holiday home and for David. Everything is absolutely perfect: a nice clean home and a beautiful environment. Thank you for everything.
Lovely stay. Probably not the best for a GSD noisy dog with neighbours but can't fault the place its self. Plenty of room and fields for dog walks and plenty of places to visit nearby.
We stayed here for 5 days and were very pleased with the property. The surrounding area was lovely to take our dogs walking and plenty of places to visit a short drive away. The property manager was very helpful and polite. We would definitely stay here again.
Everything you need in a lovely character building. David was very helpful and friendly. Found a wild
swimming spot behind Skenfrith Castle and had some lovely walks with our dog.
Thank you very much for the warm and friendly welcome. We loved staying in your Mill Cottage. The place is just wonderful to unwind and relax. Cosy, yet with all the amenities needed to make your stay comfortable. We will definitly come again.
Very pleasant location with much birdsong. Rural and quiet. Long established and helpful owner who had operated the Mill as a working mill before conversion. A really lovely holiday!
We stayed at the Mill for 8 days and had an amazing time! I would highly recommend staying here to anyone looki g for a very uiet time in a lovely part of Wales. Kathy and Dave are wonderful hosts, and their property is as advertised. Everything you need to enjoy your time, and furnished very well. We loved it!
Absolutely stunning views, quiet peaceful location. Lovely accommodation beautifully maintained and clean
Really didnât want to leave. Lovely host and would definitely go back.
Thank you so much
Mill Cottage at Penylan Farm was warm and comfortable with good facilities, the wifi was reliable and the location enjoys amazing views across the surrounding countryside. Dave out host was very friendly and helpful. The Farm is on a narrow lane, which we got used to driving along. It's 20 minutes from Monmouth and the Wye Valley where there are lots of places to walk, such as Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean. Monmouth is good for shopping and plenty of coffee shops. We booked the cottage for 28 nights and found the cottage a bit small for our length of stay. The only negatives for us were the lack of opening windows in the bedroom and the disappointing outdoor table and seats which were not the same quality as shown on the website.
Just returned from a weeks stay at The Mill and enjoyed every minute, a lovely comfortable barn conversion with everything we required. Cathy and Dave are such a nice couple and very helpfull giving us advice on walks and local attractions.
If eating out, don't miss 'Warwicks' country pub at Tal-y-Coed, about 10 mins in car, great food and very welcoming. Thanks to Cathy & Dave for a great week.
Gorgeous & quaint cottage with beautiful views and even better hosts!
We've had the absolute pleasure of staying at David's property for a few weeks, due to our home move falling through.
A last minute request (with an incredibly prompt response!) and we couldn't have been luckier to stumble across this wonderful cottage.
It's not only beautiful and cosy but also neat, clean & with all the amenities to keep us comfortable but more importantly it's been an absolute haven for us whilst we sorted our next step - I've not wanted to leave!
David and Cathy are wonderful hosts, are so hospitable & what should've been a stressful period has truly been a delight.
I can't recommend Penylan Farm enough, for short or longer stays!
Had a lovely short break, everything was as described in the listing.. Cathy was exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to ensure ourselves and our dog Quinton had a lovely stay, recommending places to visit and where to eat. Will definitely will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and comfortable and had all we needed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location was right in the middle of picturesque farm land and within easy reach of places of interest.
The accommodation was excellent - very clean with everything you need. The area was so peaceful and scenic and great for walking or exploring. The owners were lovely and welcoming and we would be delighted to return.
Very well done, comfortable palce to stay. Warm and every thing you need. Would highly recommend.

Although the cottage was beautiful and suited us perfectly the downside, Iâm sorry to say, was just how uncomfortable the seating was. A 2 seater sofa is not big enough for 2 adults ! Very small and extremely uncomfortable. 2 wooden dining chairs were no substitute for escaping the sofa. Such a shame as it spoilt the overall experience of a short break.
Lovely setting
Great views

Lovely people, lovely location, lovely time spent at Pen-y-lan.
Accommodation had everything one would need for a short break.
Definitely somewhere for a repeat visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mill, which was very pleasant and comfortable. It was well-equipped and cosy, and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet after busy days hill climbing or exploring the surrounding towns. Cath and Dave were friendly and helpful hosts, and we would not hesitate to return there one day.
Absolutely stunning environment to relax and explore this part of Wales.
We stayed in Mill Cottage and its presentation was immaculate and contained everything we needed for a short/long stay. Cathy was very warm and welcoming and very happy to help out with access to her printer when I unexpectedly had âurgentâ business to conclude. After a long day out exploring this part of Wales my partner and I looked forward to returning âhomeâ. I hope we can return one day!

Cozy comfortable holiday home
A delight that the weather was with us all week.
The area around 'The Mill' is beautiful and the wider area including the forest of dean is one of our favourite places to visit.
We had a week that was full of fun, whether shopping in Monmouth and Abergavenny or walking through wonderful countryside by the Wye valley.
We stayed at Penylan for one week and it's a perfect place for a couple to have relaxed holidays in a beautiful lanscape. The cottage has everything you need and is a place where you feel good. Cathy is a lovely host with plenty of tips for a trip, thank you for all.
My partner and I had a delightful weekend break at the farm, Cathy made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed our mini break on her farm, enjoying all the beautiful views and animals.
