Lovely spacious property, very clean, beautiful views and very peaceful, just what we needed. Great garden for our dog very secure, he loved it! Lots of places to visit within half an hour and local town for shopping. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The barn was very roomy, well equipped with beautiful views out of the patio window. Our granddaughters loved playing in the paddock, a real asset to the property. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside and the nearest village is only a
The barn was beautiful with fantastic views of the countryside. I found it was very well equipped with everything we needed for the week. The host was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here
Perfect in every way! Gorgeous views, fabulous kitchen!
Philip and Sarah are generous hosts. This restored barn has every modern comfort and very well appointed home and well equipped kitchen. One of the best HomeAway stays ever! My stay in Wellington was perfect, thanks to these fine accommodations!
We stayed here for a week from Easter Saturday. We had our 2 dogs with us that absolutely loved the garden and paddock to play in. The home was spacious, light, clean and very well equipped. We will definitely wish to return and recommend anyone to stay here.
Really super property with great facilities and excellent for dogs. We stayed over Christmas and had everything we needed in the kitchen for a full Christmas lunch! The barn is very comfortable cosy and warm the Christmas tree was a great touch along with the doggy gift! Our hosts were fantastic and answered all our pre visit questions very quickly and the recommendations for eating out were very good.
Weâd love to return when the weather is nicer to explore more.
This place more than met our expectations! Its easily the nicest place we have stayed as a group of 4 adults and 3 dogs. The dogs were in heaven with their wonderful grounds. It was well equipped and very comfortable. Philip was so helpful. We are looking forward to returning next . Thanks đ
Very clean and felt comfortable. Very peaceful with amazing views across fields to the Monument. Well equipped kitchen with more than enough for our needs. Friendly hosts made us feel welcome and answered our questions. Good instructions on how to get to the house and helpful information on restaurants.
We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at little owl barn. We were very impressed by the barn very clean and well equipped, we would definitely like to return. Our 3 dogs also enjoyed racing round the paddock with no chance of escape. Little Owl barn is in a good location for exploring Devon and Somerset.
We very much enjoyed our stay here at Little Owl Barn, and even got a good look at two real little owls in a tree we could see from the window. The property is smart and well presented, the owners were very friendly and helpful, the view and location is great, the local pub was lovely, Wellington is near enough to be convenient but the property is remote enough to be a quiet haven. I would gladly visit again, or recommend this to our friends and relatives. It is in a good location for visiting all of Somerset and Devon.
Wonderful holiday home with very friendly and helpful landlords.
A very beautiful house in a quiet location. Little owl barn was super clean and nicely decorated. A lot of space in the house and a huge garden. Also ideal for dog owners. The landlords Sarah and Philip were very friendly and helpful. An accommodation that we can recommend without any restriction.
Thank you for everything!

This spacious converted barn was perfect for our stay. Larger than it looks in the photos.
Well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery. The hosts provided tea, milk and coffee supplies upon approval which was appreciated before going to a bigger shop at the nearby grocery store. There was also salt and pepper. Plenty of soap and detergent too.
The location is in a peaceful setting with lovely views. In additional to the large tv in the living room which includes a dvd player, there were smaller TVs in the bedrooms. We also enjoyed the board games.
Hosts were helpful. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Lovely holiday home with great garden for dogs & kids to play in
We were 2 adults, 3 kids & puppy staying in this lovely upside down barn. We had plenty of space in the house for all of us & an amazing enclosed space outside. The house was very well equipped with everything you needed. We were very lucky with the weather, even though it was February so all of us got to play in the garden outside. Philip the owner was very helpful. We walked 15 mins to the local pub where the food was very nice. The kids enjoyed going to Vivary high adventure ropes & also trampolining at Flip Out both of which were just a short drive away. We have already booked our next stay here.
5 Star accommodation and perfect for a holiday with your canine companions!
First impressions are everything and what a first impression you get when you walk in to Little Owl Barn - it truly has the "wow" factor!
On the ground floor are the two spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and clean, fully fitted bathrooms. Upstairs to the open plan living area and kitchen with huge double doors leading out to the large fully enclosed garden! The whole place is spotless and very well maintained.
We took our two Chocolate Labradors with us - one is affectionately Nick-named Houdini - even he couldn't find a way out of the enormous garden!
The owner, Philip, couldn't have been more helpful and eager to share his local knowledge which made our visit easier to plan (especially a cheeky Chinese from the New Canton Restaurant, yum)!
All in all, an amazing property with breath taking views for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Spacious, clean barn conversion with amazing views over Somerset countryside.
The upside down barn was extremely clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The views from the rear were wonderful with the Wellington Monument in full sight. The barn was very spacious and it was great to have two bathrooms. Despite it being advertised as 'dog friendly' there was absolutely no evidence of dog hair or smell which was wonderful. It has an excellent location, being rural and quiet but near enough to local amenities and attractions. We would recommend a trip on the West Somerset Railway, a walk up to the Wellington Monument and a trip to the coast; Watchet and Blue Anchor Bay are very picturesque. We had an enjoyable meal at the World's End pub. The local owl made an appearance on the fence post as we arrived but was not seen again, unfortunately. Philip was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay; we only wish it could have been longer.
We found the Little Owl Barn to be the perfect place for the four of us to spend time in Somerset. The house is very well furnished and we found it to be very clean when we arrived. There were plenty of good instructions about using the features nd amenities of the house, such as washing machines and kitchen appliances. Everything was in great working order.
The locale is lovely and very quiet (except for the occasional cow sounding off) and we found it quite peaceful. The vista is super, and we quickly felt as comfortable as we do on our own homes. Getting to the various points in Somerset that we visited was easy from the Little Owl Barn. We met Philip the landlord, who is exceptionally nice and willing to offer advice and help when asked. All in all, our stay couldn't have been better.
Thanks for a wonderful experience.

We have just spent a fabulous nine nights at Little Owl. Marchâs weather is always a bit hit and miss but we had a glorious day of sunshine on the beach in Sidmouth. Most days were spent with crisp but dry walks with the dogs in the locality. You have to see the zombie rams in a local farm, aesthetically challenged but very calm as we walked through their field with three dogs. A ten minute drive takes you to Culmstock Beacon and stunning panoramic views . Heddons mouth and Hunters Inn is just over an hour way, but well worth a visit. The house is beautiful, clean and well equipped, the huge garden and neighbouring secure paddock are a godsend. Our dogs are small terriers but were still unable to escape . I went riding about 45 mins away at Pine lodge , which was chilly but beautiful. Paul celebrated his 60th birthday during our stay and Phil and Sarah kindly left us a chilled bottle of Fizz in the fridge, which was very kind. We will come again .
The booking process was really easy and great communication from the owners before our arrival inc. great directions and nearby shops. The checking in process was easy and we were fortunate on this occasion to be able to enter the property earlier than originally planned. The property is as lovely as it looks on the pictures and all facilities that you need are provided. The outdoor space was certainly safe for my 2 dogs to run around and they loved it. The beds were incredibly comfortable also. There is plenty of space to sit at the kitchen table and eat or you can sit on the bench outside (weather permitting) and enjoy the views. There is ample room for all of your clothes, food and belongings and plenty of parking. The road in and out of the Little Owl Barn is a little hair-raising with some blind bends. We were able to visit Weymouth, Ilfracombe, Woolacoombe, Exeter and Exmouth within an hours drive of the Barn, but again some typical scary Devon country roads to contend with! The Barn has high ceilings upstairs which allows for lots of light to come in which is lovely. The bedrooms downstairs are cooler and darker allowing for a good nights sleep. Despite it being an old barn, there are no creaky floorboards or stairs and being quite remote it is very peaceful and tranquil. I would definitely recommend Little Owl Barn, great place, great hosts :-)
Upside down barn delivers stunning views and tranquility
We are a family of four with our children aged ten and nine. There was just the right amount of space in the top part of the barn for eating meals and relaxing on the sofas. The two bathrooms were spacious and well equipped, and the washing machine proved very useful. There is plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The lawn at the rear of the property is large enough for a game of rounders or kicking a rugby ball around. If that is insufficient, there is a sizeable paddock too. The owner of the neighbouring farm is very friendly and that family has lots of animals including pigs, turkeys, sheep and horses. If your child loves animals, you are in the right place. The Holywell Arms is a pub within 20 minute walking distance which does excellently priced food and superb beer. Wellington is the nearest town and it has an Asda and a Waitrose. So, according to your taste, you can stock up on essentials as well as wine and gin. There are many walks in the area but you will need an OS map of the area to be able to do this properly. Exmoor is within driving distance and that offers a multitude of hiking options as well as Dunster Castle. We had a lovely week during Whit half term and we are already talking about returning next year.
Quiet spot overlooking hills, super clean upside down living with everything you need and open plan lay out. Heating and hot water very responsive. Had 2 dogs with us who enjoyed the 2 large paddocks secured by hedge and fences. The charming host was keen to help with anything and we chatted to him over the paddock gate.
Have just had the perfect week in Little Owl Barn. Sunshine every day. Our 3 dogs loved the huge secure garden. Barn was very clean & had everything you needed. Coast only 45 mins away. Vey quiet & beautiful location. Hosts very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Canât fault anything.
The barn was spacious and comfortable. The two bathrooms were a big plus. The kitchen was well equipped. The outside area was lovely and our dog - had she come - would have loved it. The place is very calm and relaxing. Philip was very helpful and responsive when we needed support.
The pillows in the master bedroom were rather flat. Intermittently, pressure in the shower was very low and/or the water was cold.
