Kate s house was amazing choice for my familly and me. House is directly by the beach with cristal clean sea . Kate, the owner, was very helpfull and gave us usefull tips for restaurands and Hidden places around. We are definitelly coming bach in this paradise!
We spent two weeks staying here in mid-August. The house was spotlessly clean and Katherine, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. Although surrounded by other properties, the house is in a large garden (which it shares with the owner's house), complete with fig, orange and lemon and olive trees, and isn't overlooked. The beach is just a few steps away at the end of the garden. It's small but beautiful. The sea is wonderfully clear and calm; perfect for children, snorkelling and swimming. (Reef shoes essential.)
The house itself is comfortable, but only one bedroom has air conditioning. There is a balcony with a sea view and a terrace to relax on. There is no sitting room and if you are using the sofa bed as a bed (as we were) there is nowhere inside to relax other than on the beds. This wasn't a major issue for us.
The kitchen is a decent size, but definitely not equipped for cooking for 5! There is no oven (we knew this when we booked) and the hob is tiny. On the occasions we did cook it wasn't possible to fit two pans on the hob simultaneously. There is a microwave to reheat things in but if was a bit of a pain. There is a large BBQ outside which we used too.
As a base to explore the local islands, Dubrovnik and Mostar it was ideally located. It is worth mentioning that the local hotel (Riva) does boat trips to places like Havar and Korcula (both beautiful.) We drove ourselves and took the public ferries, which are great but you can face long waits at the ports which eats into the time you have actually on the islands.
The only other thing to bear in mind is that the house is very hard to find for the first time! If your SatNav can't locate it, make sure you ask for detailed directions from the owners. Brist is tiny and basically has just one very small road running through it, other than the main coast road. The garage parking is a real bonus as the tiny road is pretty impossible to park on.
In summary; a lovely house in a perfect location. We didn't want to come home!
Soluzione perfetta per una vacanza tranquilla a pochi passi dal mare. Appartamento molto carino e confortevole. Proprietaria cordiale e sempre disponibile. Ottima scelta!

We spent a lovely three weeks here. Both double bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The kitchen is small and has no oven, but we knew that when we booked. It is fine for one pot meals, chilli, spag' bol' etc. Outside is the BBq which was well used. Maroje & Katarine were attentive and welcoming to our Giant Schnauzer dog. Maroje was always quick to respond to our questions/queries and speaks good English. There is a large garden at the side of the house so the dog is well catered for. The only minus is the speed of the wifi but when you look at the biokovo mountains literally behind the house, it is easy to understand why. The property has its own garage space which if you are here in the summer months, is an asset in itself. Brist is very quiet, but really friendly, with not much activity in terms of eating/bars. There is a lovely coastal promenade to Gradac, 20 minute stroll away which is awash with choice of restaurants/bars. The view across the sea to the Peljesac peninsular is wonderful. This is an excellent base for exploring this part of Croatia. Dubrovnik, Split, Trogir, Ston, Peljesac peninsular and Korcula all within easy driving distance. Also visit the lovely small fishing villages nearby. We also went to Bosnia on two occasions to visit Mostar, Blagaj and the Kravice waterfalls.
I would thoroughly recommend this property and Brist/Gradac to my friends and family.
Be advised, just like many other countries in Europe, dogs are not allowed on the pebble beach during June through to end of September.
