Beautiful Cottage, ideally situated just 5 mins drive from Tenbury Wells but situated off a country lane giving a rural feel. The cottage has a private pretty courtyard. The kitchen is very well equipped, the living room is very comfortable and the beds too. We would definitely book this property again!
The property is very well equipped and nicely decorated. The surroundings are so relaxing and it was a lovely treat to be able to pat the horses in a morning.
It was definitely the break we wanted and would stay here again.
The Hop Kiln is a beautiful property, well equipped and located. Maggie and John were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. Overall we had a great stay.
A very relaxing long weekend, beautiful property in picturesque location. Well located for visiting Ludlow and Shropshire hills. Short drive to Tembury Wells.
We had a wonderful week away staying in this fantastically converted old Hop Kiln. The location is idyllic and John and Maggie have thought of everything you might need. We would highly recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful stay here. Maggie was a superb host. The property is lovely, with everything you need. Tenbury Wells nearby was lovely and it's great for access into Ludlow. Would highly recommend
Delighted with the cottage; clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Peaceful location in stunning countryside but quick and easy access to Tenbury & Ludlow. Owners were very helpful and considerate.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The perfect accommodation for a short break, the views from the house were beautiful and the private courtyard was perfect for our doggo. Itâs in a great location to explore lots of places near that are then only about 20 min drive. Lovely to just chill in at night too. The kitchen was our abso fave. Thank you for a great time!!!
What an amazing location, beautiful home and well equipped property. We had fantastic days out in Ludlow and Hay-on-Wye. The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful advising us of local walks, shops and places to visit. We will definitely visit again.
A delightful property in the middle of the countryside.
If you like your holidays in a very quiet location, the Hop Kiln is certainly that. A homely property with plenty of charm, it was lovely to come back to after bracing country walks and settle in front of the log burner.
We spent 4 lovely days in this original property Communication with Maggie was excellent and she was a discreetly available when we needed her.
The location itself is stunning and this quirky property was a pleasure to stay in. Its proximity to the A49, makes for easy trips out. Church Stretton and Leominster were particular favourites.
We had a wonderful week. Very comfortable accommodation; lovely beds, cosy lounge, excellent kitchen facilities - beautifully furnished throughout! And all in a beautiful part of the country. We very much hope to visit again. Thank you Maggie :)
John and I are retired Production Designers working in TV and Film. We moved back to the area where John grew up in 1998, when we bought Old Harpfields, which had a redundant Hop Kiln which we then developed as a holiday cottage in 2006. We have other barns which people often say we should develop, but we don't want to live in a holiday complex and loose the lovely seclusion which both ourselves and our guests enjoy.
It is a stunning area and when I first met John in 1978 and came to meet his family in Tenbury Wells, I fell in love with the area and persuaded John to move back when he left the BBC in 1998. The house and surrounding setting has a wonderful "mis en scene" in totally unspoiled countryside, but with Ludlow and Tenbury Wells close by
