This was a great home to stay in, whether you're touring Bath or using it as a home base for side trips. It has some nice touches and a lovely porch overlooking the river.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this cottage The kitchen has everything that we need, and we enjoyed our morning coffee and morning walks to the town. It was fun to visit shops on Front Street especially the used book store.
This is a quaint little house with a beautiful view and walking distance to the town of bath. Kitchen is a little rustic and the double bed a little small for 2 people, but overall very charming
We had a lovely stay here in quaint Bath. The house was very clean and cozy, very Maine. The owner was very responsive when we had an issue with the fridge.
Catherine and Mark were excellent hosts. They were very helpful. The cottage has a beautiful view of the river and is close to town. The upstairs is spacious with a great bathroom.
The kitchen was well equipped with antique touches.
We enjoyed our Stay, and recommend it to others.
An effortless rental, because everything was so well thought out and well organised. We felt as though we were at home with lots of comfort and also beautiful furnishings and spacious rooms. The view of the river made it very special, and although very quiet, it was a short walk into town. Highly recommended!
The home was prefect for a short stay in Bath. We were very busy and only used the home for a home base. We didn't use the house for anything but sleeping. Host went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable.
We had a lovely several days in this darling cottage. It was perfectly outfitted for comfort, plus beautiful views, peaceful neighborhood and close to pretty and historic downtown Bath. And special thanks for the welcoming breakfast "kit" of coffee, orange juice and muffins. We were here dropping our incoming freshman off at Bowdoin, and it was a nice, homey launching pad for us all. Thank you!
The house was perfect for a home base! Big enough for 4 adults! Rooms were a great size and the bathroom was nice. The deck and back yard were a bit if a let down. The deck was small and could use some touch ups! The yard needs to be cleared out. Would be nice to be able to get to the water! Perfect location though to walk into town!
the charming cottage on the Kennebec River is a great house
the cottage is a perfect size for one, two, or three it is on a quiet street in Bath and you look out at the Kennebec River through some tall trees that are perches for birds sitting on the back deck is calming and restful yes, once in a while a lobster boat or a faster boat go by that can be a nice interruption and then you enjoy the peacefulness again inside the house is tastefully decorated in its colors and with some antiques the kitchen has all you will need, and the bigger refrigerator is a gift. the beds are comfortable i would certainly stay again; i have visited twice the owner, Catherine Davis responds to inquires or questions in a timely manner, as does the caretaker, Mark, who is helpful in answering questions
House is clean, quiet neighborhood, great location. Cooking is with electric stove and oven, a challenge for those used to gas. The top drawer in the kitchen cabinet on the right needs to be sanded down. Hardly opens but has the eating utensils inside. Didn't have sandpaper or I would have done it myself. Internet works well and all the appliances did too. No AC but temperature is usually cool on the river. would stay again.
Cute house with lovely view of the Kennebunk River. Small deck overlooks river. Unfortunately, there's uncomfortable furniture and a bright motion detector light, so in the evening you can't have it dark & look at stars.
It is a natural setting to have a path to the river but there isn't one.
The kitchen is the only room with a table to eat on. The dining room is set up & being used as owners office. The kitchen has very little counter space, making it difficult to prepare & cook meals. Because of covid, we had planned to cook our meals, but the kitchen is very ill equipped. We couldn't find a baking pan for the oven- no colander, no extra large pot for lobsters. And, the fridge is quite small. We were disappointed.
Very nice full bathroom upstairs.
The twin beds are extremely comfortable, however, the double bed in the master is not. On the whole the house was not what we expected.
The house was very clean and well located, right next to the Kennebec river. We enjoyed the historic nature of the house, furnishings, and neighborhood. The 2nd floor bathroom is a good size and the shower works well. We were pleased and surprised by the coffee/tea, milk and juice stocked for our use. There were enough fans (no aircon) for the hot days. The staircase is very narrow and the 1st floor bathroom is very small, so larger people might have some challenges. Also, note there is no dishwasher or washing machine/dryer. It seems the house might be slated for demolition, but the development plans posted in the office go back to 2008, so maybe not anytime soon. Iâd recommend the house if the drawbacks are acceptable (they were for us).
The Front Street property was a pleasant place to stay for our family. The view from the deck was beautiful. It is located in a very nice neighborhood and within walking distance of downtown. Downtown has many places to eat and there are many other things to see and do. We enjoyed our week and and were very happy we decided to stay there.
This is a quaint small, old home within easy walking distance to Bath's historical Front Street retail area and restaurants. The house will easily accommodate four people (sharing a bathroom), but there were only two of us, so it was plenty big (even though the front room downstairs is being used as an office, related to future development of the site).
We had breakfast and light lunches at the house, but we did not cook meals. The home is clean and has good heat. There is a small back deck with chairs for enjoying a view of the river. The wireless internet connection was good. We thought the bed was fine (we like firm).
We went to Bath to shift gears downward, and this was a perfect place for us. It was clean, quiet, warm, and close to things. Check-in and check-out could not have been simpler.
I expect we'll go back. Recommend.
Weâre from Maine and lived in Bath for 7 years. We love the location of this property. We walked to town almost every day, had coffee on the deck looking at the river.
The house is beautiful. The furnishings are comfortable. We had everything we needed, except more vacation time.
The cottage on the Kennebec River was just what I needed. Relaxing and refreshing looking out on the tidal river as it flows by, seeing eagles and smaller birds. Inside the attractive cottage is warm and cozy and I enjoy reading and then looking out at the trees
