Great stay again in this lovely cottage with everything you need during your stay. Bed very comfortable too which is always a bonus. Wonderful position alongside the canal, great walk for our 4 hounds. Little secure gated courtyard ideal to sit out in the sun for afternoon tea. The Folly pub is just past the boundary of the property so enjoyed a lovely meal there. You can see The Stables from the pub garden. Perfect little spot!
A most enjoyable 3 days at this really well located and also very well maintained cottage. The cottage is bigger than may first appear from the photos. (Note the bathroom is very nice too with a lovely modern shower - in case a photo of it still does not appear in the details of the property) Nigel was the perfect host.
Great little cottage in a beautiful area, well equipped with everything you need. Gorgeous dining pub along the lane and canal to walk the dogs. Only recommendation would be to put gates on the courtyard wall. Booked again already.
Lovely little cottage, nestled between fields and the canal with a perfect pub at the end of the drive. Very quiet and peaceful. Small courtyard so the dogs could be outside. Walks along the canal and over the fields. Would absolutely stay again. Our host was perfect!! Warmly recommended
We stayed for a week in December during a hard time for our family, and the property was just what we were after; rural, quiet and calm, with a lovely pub just yards away. The only issue we ran into was that the dishwasher was too small to clean the plates provided. But the owner was pleasant, the wood burner made things cost, and the bathroom was clean. Napton is a lovely village with a really good local store, and the Folly pub is fantastic. This property would work for a couplesâ mini-break as I bet there are some good hiking routes in the area too.
Our host and the property were brilliant, the cottage and peacefully area allowed us to catch up on much needed rest. Thank you Nigel for your kindness and wonderful cottage. X
A really great stay in a wonderful location. Nigel is a really good host and great to talk to. Good views and pub really close.
Lovely time sitting by the canal watching the boats go by.
Property has everything needed for a comfortable time.
Highly recommend a stay at The Stables.
I really love this accommodation. It has all you could need for a short, or long stay. It is very clean and Nigel the host is very affable. Whilst morally l know l should share this location, my dark side is saying not as l want to rebook for another visit and donât want to run the risk of missing out!
This was our second visit and again it didn't disappoint. It is in a beautiful, peaceful setting with a friendly host. would highly recommend and our dog loved it. A spotlessly clean cottage which is well presented
Superb location right on the canal with a pub at the bottom of the road. Bedding and towels smelt wonderful, well equipped kitchen, bathroom a good size and shower was good. Long walk on canal and over fields was lovely, weather was very kind. Hopefully we will return
Visiting family in the area, we have stayed before and love it here with our two little dogs. In the winter months itâs cozy and warm and this time of year you can be outside, itâs very private and has a table, chairs and umbrella to sit and look over the surrounding fields, very peaceful, the birds and the sheep are all you can hear and the daily life of people spending time on the canal which runs alongside where it is situated at Napton Locks. You can walk or drive into the village and stock up on lovely local produce, bread, cakes, pastries, meat, fruit and veg and absolutely anything you would need for that extra special treat, itâs just a wonderful Village Store and The Folly Inn and The Cidery are within walking distance. The owner has made sure there is everything you need for a perfect stay, it is well equipped, clean, plenty of towels, lovely bed, the list is endless, a real home from home and we feel comfortable there, weâll be back so thank you Nigel for letting us stay.
A very enjoyable three night stay at the Stables.
A lovely conversion with just the right level of accommodation and facilities for us two and our dog.
A quality finish throughout and plenty of space in each room for a comfortable relaxed time.
The location is idyllic with the quiet surrounding countryside and the canal and locks alongside.
Nigel was on hand if you required any help or advise about local history or places to visit, a really nice knowledgeable chap!
Our time here left us feeling relaxed and refreshed, we would not hesitate recommending this property to anyone looking for a short stay getaway.

Great stay location great for walks with the dogs n Warwick n Stratford Apon Avon
Nigel was very accommodating n friendly. The place was clean n comfortable, our two golden retrievers were made very welcome. The pub was close but not noisy. The post office come local shop had everything you needed. The people we met in the village were all very friendly. We will definitely go back
A lovely weekend. Accommodation was perfect for my two dogs and l to use as a base.
Kitchen was fully equipped, with a fridge and freezer to use.
The accommodation, towels and bed linen all spotless.
Already rebooked for August.
Mum is 92 and we both loved this property, fields full of lambs one side and the canal the other, pub 100m away, good weather, what more can you ask. The accommodation was really comfortable and had everything we needed. Met Nigel when we arrived and spoke to him again when we left. Perfect! Thank you Nigel. Christine and Babs x
The owner Nigel is a canal enthusiast which led him to the property in the first place. Keen on all things steam, he occasionally crews on the Steam narrow Boat President on her trips away from the black country museum. Other interests include cycling and motorcycling. Napton is a great base for doing both
