Words and pictures simply will not do this home justice. It is beautiful. The decor is like waking back into the 1900's but having all modern amenities. The house is spotless and conformable in a quiet neighborhood.
Bonnieâs home is the perfect place to stay when visiting Oxford. First, the decor and collections are amazing. Such attention to detail, fun things to look at in every corner. The living area, the beds, and the kitchen are all comfy. Secondly, the location canât be beat. The house is on a beautiful street and is a lovely, easy walk to shops and restaurants. And, finally, Bonnie is so gracious and welcoming! We highly recommend!
This was my fifth or sixth time staying at Bonnie's lovely house. It is beautiful and she is a wonderful host. In the center of gorgeous, historical Oxford, NY, the house is very comfortable and well laid-out.
Great spacious and very clean property located in a peaceful village. Bonnie is a great host and made sure that we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again.
This was a perfect getaway for fall 2020 - lots of space indoors and great outdoor socializing areas. The house was both beautiful & fun, and we would definitely visit again!
This house is spacious, very clean and just beautiful with lots of room to spread out. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. And the amenities and extras are impressive. The yard is lovely and the host was very welcoming and gracious.
Lots of antiques and very clean. Lots of room and overall I would certainly recommend this home as a very comfortable lovely VRBO. I found our host charming and helpful . Thank you Bonnie for welcoming us into your house.
We have been stopping at this home ever since our son started attending a college that takes us through Oxford on our trip there. Our son is a senior this year, and our biannual stay at this residence has become a favorite part of our trips to New York - so much so that we may continue to visit after he has graduated, making Oxford and this lovely Italianate mansion our destination.
Five of us enjoyed our college reunion after 25 years. Friends traveled from all over. The stay was so comfortable with plenty of room. Short walk to town where we enjoyed the festivities in Oxford. Very clean and relaxing rental.
This is the loveliest home away from home we've ever found. This is our third year of returning to this property and it won't be our last. This is an Italianate mansion that has been added onto over the years, so has plenty of room. The owners have attended to ever detail in the addition however, so the entire home both interior and exterior looks original and is beautifully maintained. The beds are comfortable, the owner is wonderful to interact with, and Oxford is a pleasant place to stay.
What to say that hasn't already been said about Bonnie and Tom and their home in the Village of Oxford, NY? Our family had an amazing stay there while in Oxford for a family wedding. Everything you would need is in the house...it's like staying at a 5 star hotel! And we've stayed at 5 star hotels around the world! The house is so lovely. The patios are inviting and comfortable. The location to central NYS's many attractions is perfect. Bonnie is so attentive to your every need...she is the ultimate host! Thank you Bonnie and Tom for sharing your home with us and all the travelers who have enjoyed its warmth and beauty! We will be back!
This is my second year booking Bonnieâs lovely house. Bonnie and her family are the best - so kind and helpful. Her house is very grand with so much Victorian character and a wonderful backyard filled with gardens and outdoor seating. Oxford is a beautiful small village with loads of history and landmarks (Bonnie shared a book about this history with me that was very helpful) - it has a great farmers market, summer concerts in Layfayette Park, great restaurants and Hoppies for delicious ice cream, pies, and sandwiches. I so enjoyed walking around Oxford on the Bluestone Shale sidewalks and linking up the buildings to the history in the book Bonnie shared. The upstate New York region around Oxford is full of natural and historic sites, including Shako:wi, the Oneida Nation cultural center an hour from Oxford; the Rogers Environmental Education Center in nearby Sherburne; Fojos Coffee Roasters in beautiful Hamilton, NY; Green Toad Books in Oneontaâs picturesque downtown; Popekâs Books in Otego, NY; and lovely Gilbertsville, NY.
This Victorian house is spectacular, with great attention to detail of historic furnishings and decoration combined with modern comforts. The host is top notch, providing personal attention and supporting booking process. This is our 3rd stay and we will be back anytime there is reason to travel to this very nice pretty village.
The owner was above and beyond excellent! The home was everything we could have imagined! Spotless, comfortable, neat and so clean- I would never look anywhere else to stay if we were in the area again! It was Awesome -
This beautiful home in the quiet town of Oxford, NY is everything the listing offers and more. The property was easy to find, the arrival instructions were thorough. Check-In was seamless as the owner met us on arrival. She also stayed in contact during our stay to make certain that all was running smoothly. The home is gorgeous, decorated with wonderful pictures and period knick-knacks. It was very clean when we arrived. Each room has its own character and all of the furniture is very comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay and if we find ourselves back in the Chenango Valley, we would definitely consider staying there again.
This was my third stay at Bonnieâs home. This is the only place I would choose to stay when visiting Oxford. It exceeds all of my needs as well as the other members of my family. First of all, Bonnie is so friendly and is very responsive to all communications that I have had with her. Her home is spotless and it is so much fun to look at the furnishings throughout the house⊠all the antiques and beautiful decor. The kitchen has everything we needed to host family gatherings. I love the huge table where there was plenty of room for a party with 13 guests. It was a perfect place for us to meet and we will be back! Thank you Bonnie!
I feel honored to have stayed at this lovely home. The home is decorated impeccably but also comfortably. We spent most of our time in the well-equipped kitchen area with adjacent sitting/television room when local family came to visit. Every convenience was provided for; I didn't miss a thing from home! Staying at any hotel in the future will definitely feel like slumming. Thank you!
My husband and I grew up in Oxford and never wanted to live anywhere else. Our families and our memories were created here and this is where we chose to raise our family. This location has given us the opportunity to enjoy so much that is around us and yet has allowed us to remain in a small town, peaceful atmosphere! This is the first home that we bought and it was an apartment at the time so the rent check paid the mortgage! We have raised 4 children in this home. They are all married. One daughter lives across the driveway with her husband and three children. Our son lives across the river-- about 3 minutes away, with his wife and two children. Another daughter lives in the country about 10 minutes away with her husband and four children. Our third daughter lives an hour away with her husband and dog! Pretty much every Sunday, they all come here, sit around the "big" table and have a meal together! The children enjoy the basement area and the back yard/woods area. We have a home on Guilford Lake-10 minutes away- and want the house to be used while we are at the lake! We or some member of our family will be available to help you with anything that you might want or need.
This home is in a quiet neighborhood and is a step back in time once you open it's door! Period antiques, both passed on from family members and purchased, fill the house. It is warm, comfortable and welcoming. It is suitable for families, as well as groups of friends and relatives.
