If your looking to enjoy and explore Englands beautiful countryside & stay in the perfect cottage this is it. This lovely cottage surrounded by beautiful flower gardens offers everything you need & the comfort of home.We absolutely enjoyed our stay there as well as the kindness shown by the owners.
We loved the cottage and had a lovely, relaxing weekend staying there ; it was very cosy and very nicely decorated. The outlook over countryside was beautiful. Some lovely touches including croissants and jam on arrival! We would stay here again.
This is a lovely cottage a long way from the sound of traffic. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and our hosts made sure we were well topped up with logs for the stove. There is a large fenced field for dogs, our two loved it. Overall highly recommended, idyllic comes to mind.
We had a great stay at the cottage. The location is beautiful, the cottage very comfortable, and we had a wonderful nights sleep in the very comfy bed! Also highly recommend the Cholmondely Arms for supper not too far away. Thanks Judy!
Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. Nice welcome package. Very quiet annd peaceful and field for the dogs to run in. Easy to get to Chester, Snowdonia, Lots of Castles, houses and Abbeys to see
We had a lovely couple of days in the cottage over New Year â the area's very pretty, local pubs are great and the cottage is warm, comfy and cosy. The enclosed paddock is great if you're visiting with a dog â our pup loved racing around and exploring off the lead. Recommended!
Great place to relax and unwind in amazing location, very clean and equipped with pretty much everything you would need. Welcome pack was very much appreciated, Judy is a very friendly host with plenty of local knowledge to share to help with your stay.
We look forward to another visit in the future.
Brilliant from start to finish, very responsive from booking, though to the standard of the accomodation. The field for the dogs to exercise in, was the icing on the cake. Unexpected provisions (bread, eggs, milk etc were a lovely touch). Would definitely stay again (if they'd have us back!).
We really enjoyed our stay. Judy made us feel very welcome on arrival. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The welcome package was a lovely touch as it meant we had breakfast sorted for the weekend.
The enclosed paddock to let our dog in was great and he enjoyed running through the grass!
The tennis was an added bonus and the court was well maintained.
We would love to return again.
Great little farm cottage, very clean & well decorated. Lovely touch by Judy & John leaving us fresh eggs bacon bread tomatoes tea coffee & a bottle of champagne.
We didn't spend that much time in the cottage as we were visiting family over Xmas but was a lovely place. Would be even better in summer I would imagine.
Only down side was could find a frying pan or grill handle, but overall excellent stay.
It is a very comfortable cottage in a lovely rural area with good access to roads and dog walks. The dogs had a big field to run in right next to the cottage, which was a huge bonus. Great pubs and nearby attractions for everyone. Perfect location if you want somewhere quiet and peaceful but near to a lot of things. Judy held an art exhibition while we were staying, showcasing local artists work which was fascinating and well worth a visit. We could not have asked for a more welcoming and gracious host. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will be coming back.
The cottage was exactly as described and very well-equipped. Itâs in a very quiet location out in the country, but only 5 minutes from an excellent pub. The local cell phone tower did go down for the last few days of my visit, but that was not my hostsâ fault, and I did have Wi-Fi in the cottage.
Judy & John were gracious and helpful hosts, checking in to make sure I had everything I needed, as well as providing some milk, eggs, bread, and butter when I arrived.
The location worked perfectly for me - very convenient for day trips in Cheshire & Shropshire. Iâm hoping to be able to go back but next time with my husband and not on my own!
We stayed for the weekend and it was fantastic. A very nice personal touch of milk, bread, croissants, butter, home made jam. Fresh eggs and tea/coffee etc.
The gardens are beautiful and the dog was able to wander round without worry of him going on a road if he followed his nose for a bird.
Other than breakfast we didn't cook and we every local pub we went to the food and drink was fantastic.
My son was distraught there was no internet but I think that was great as he had to do something that wasn't on his phone, every parents dream ;)
Great place, would recommend you try it
Stayed for 3 nights with my daughter and our dog.
Clear directions given of how to get to property.
Beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings.
One bedroom with twin beds and another bed in living room.
Fully fitted kitchen with oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Carolyn the owner had left us grocery essentials like milk, butter, bread and croissants. There were also the basics, tea, coffee, jam.
There is a washing machine and dryer but the washing machine didnât work. Probably something I was doing wrong.
The living room has a 2 seater sofa with 2 chairs and a log burner with plenty of logs.
Beware the shelves behind the sofa as I banged my head 3 times within an hour. You would think Iâd be more aware after the first time lol. There is a TV with free view, itâs only small but adequate.
The gardens are beautiful. There is an enclosed field which the dog could use. He loved running around off lead.
The only issue we had was the morning of departure we had no hot water. I followed the instructions that were left but to no avail. Iâm sure if I had informed Carolyn she would have come around and sorted it but didnât want to disturb her so early on a bank holiday.
All I all and amazing cottage in an amazing setting.
Would highly recommend
Beautiful countryside location. Stunning grounds where you could sit and relax after a day out.
Very quiet but also very close to a number of places to eat that were all within 5 - 10 minute drive.
Lovely stone cottage that was lovely and cool in the hot weather.
Lovely hosts who were happy to pass on local knowledge and very keen for feedback on anything that could be improved.
Relaxing and restorative week. No traffic noise, dark skies and the company of sheep and moor hens on the farm.
The hosts had also left some tea/coffee and breakfast items which was a lovely surprise.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
We travelled with our five month old Cocker Spaniel puppy from Cornwall to Scotland and the cottage gave us a chance to break the journey and relax for a couple of nights in comfort in an idyllic and peaceful rural setting.
Having the use of the safely fenced field is a great bonus if you are travelling with dogs .
We were made to feel very welcome and all the essentials for a hearty breakfast were generously provided.
I live in Cheshire with my husband and we have 3 children and 2 dogs a pug and a labrador. My husband works at home and in Manchester on legal cases and I work from home on various projects and do alot of charity work.
We used to live in North-East Cheshire, but have always wanted to live in South Cheshire as it is nearer to Wales and we like being near to the Sandstone Trail for walking, also good golf courses like Portal and Delamere are nearby. Our house is on the Cholmondeley Castle Estate which we love and we often go into Cholmondeley Park to walk in the beautiful gardens and see the rare breeds of animals.
We are also very keen racegoers and frequently go the Chester racecourse.
There are a number of very good pubs nearby.
We are only 25 minutes from Crewe station and yet in the most beautiful quiet spot.
A lovely location. Very quiet and well away from the roads and traffic.
Use of a astro turf tennis court.
Access to many sporting activities: Riding, Golf, tennis, polo, racing at Chester and Bangor throughout the year, motor-racing (Oulton Park) Delamere Forest for cycling and Go-Ape.
The picturesque small towns of Tarporley and Malpas are nearby and are well worth a visit.
