Peace and quiet near the centre of a friendly Cornish town
This is a lovely house, clean, well appointed with everything needed. There is a lovely, spacious living room and an ensuite bedroom, along with two further bedrooms, ideal for a quiet getaway for two for for small family. The location is on a riverbank, about five minutes' walk from the centre of the friendly and frankly underrated town of Wadebridge in Cornwall. There are lovely river walks, shops and cafes to enjoy, and an superb jumping off point for visits to other parts of Cornwall. I hope it will be possible to visit again.
Wonderful location for exploring the north of Cornwall
We maximised the amazing access to the Camel Trail and rarely got the car out as we could get to Padstow, Bodmin and Wentfordbridge via the trail. Lots of walkable restaurants in town and supermarket on hand as well.
Plenty of room for a family, nice garden space. We really look forward to coming back to stay again. And from the visitors book, we would be joining lots of other repeat guests.
Nice property in good clean condition. 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 5 people . Convenient for the town with parking which is great in Wadebridge. Had a lovely stay, would definitely return
We had a very relaxing week at this comfortable and well-equipped house. The highlight for us was being able to walk out onto the balcony each morning and evening and enjoy the beautiful view over the river. It was the perfect base for getting around this part of Cornwall. We particularly enjoyed the cycle ride to Padstow - a lovely journey, and with the changing tides there was a different view each way. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
Located on the Camel Trail great for Padstow and Bodmin walks. Property was clean and had everything we wanted for our stay. We didn't plan to self cater but if we had it would have been perfect. We ate out in Padstow 3 times at 3 different Rick Stein eateries all were very good. (Fresh fish takes some beating) We ate in Wadebridge at Steppingstones which was also very good. The walk to padstow is about 1 and a half to two hours(medium pace very flat concrete path that used to be the railway line) along the riverside with a watering hole half way which is worth a visit. If you don't want to walk back there is a bus service from Padtow to Wadebridge takes about 20 minutes and runs at least every hour. Bycycle hire is available and lots of visitors were using them on the trail ideal for families who prefer to ride (Tandems and trailers for children are there too). Parking space offroad was great, left our car there the whole four days. The whole time we were there we heard no noise from neighbouring properties and we slept well in a comfy bed. A great break and we came back a couple of lbs lighter. The owner Carol could not have done more for us and can offer advice on most local amenities.
Partly choose this property for location of Camel Trail cycle path. We really couldnât have picked a better property for this as itâs literally on the doorstep. Was able to cycle one way for just over 5 miles to Padstow and the other way for Bodmin. Great base for exploring other areas too we visited Port Isaac and Tintagel. Wadebridge town itself was 5 minutes walk with a few pubs for evening meals and supermarket. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking if you want to eat in. The lounge is upstairs which although means extra stair walking from the kitchen you have lovely views of the river. We didnât use the balcony as not warm enough. Main bedroom upstairs was comfortable with en-suite. Other bedrooms downstairs which we didnât use. Road was quiet which was nice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much that we extended by a day. Excellent communication from the owner.
I absolutely loved this property with this quaint little cottage being on the riverside & Kept in beautiful order. There was lots to do for all ages, only a short walk away from the towns aminities restaurants, pubs, bakery, shops etc. Thank you Carol for a beautiful holiday! If you have the dates we need for next year weâre definitely coming back!
The cottage had everything and more! Carol was amazing, communication with her was second to none. I love this place, peaceful setting, stunning views- everything you could ever want and more, we really want to return here, one of our favourite stays in 47 years of visiting Cornwall!!!
Waterside is an upside down house which is well equipped making it very comfortable and home from home. From the lounge there are great views of the river Camel and the pretty park that runs either side of this. Just alongside the house runs the Camel Trail which is great for walking and cyclists too. This offers a lovely trail between Padstow and Bodmin with breathtaking views.
Wadebridge is a pretty town and a great location to travel to Padstow, Rock, Fowey and Polperro.
The town itself has some great places to eat and drink.
Loved The Swan and their fish pie !
Communication with Carol the owner was excellent and I would highly recommend her property to stay in this beautiful area of Cornwall.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we had a fantastic week. The scenery is beautiful and itâs quiet. It was a very good location for exploring Cornwall and local amenities were only a short walk away.. Carol has been fantastic and gave us all the necessary information we needed
We had a great stay at Waterside, in Wadebridge despite the rain. The accommodation was very clean, very comfortable and we felt like it was a "home away from home".
Quiet , relaxing holiday sipping wine on balcony over looking River Camel and local park. Central location for cycling to both Padstow and Bodmin. Good off road parking. Overall excellent property, would highly recommend.
Ideal spot for us short walk to town, local inns and restaurants.
Lovely views across the river watching the cricket weeknds on the ground on the otherside of the river. Very quiet for in the middle of town. Place was warm, cosy and comfy. Good beds slept well. Camel trail on your doorstep ideal for walkers and bikers.
It was our first time renting a holiday home with our young family and it couldnât have been any better. Perfect location to use as a base to explore different parts of Cornwall whilst having everything you need back home to keep the kids happy, fed and entertained.
The house was the perfect size and gave us a great place to relax after a busy day exploring. Our eldest is already asking when we can go back so she can stay in âher roomâ again.
Idea location for touring the local area and cycling along the camel trail. Waterside is a pleasant house with everything you need for a break or family holiday. Would definitely recommend this property.
We had a great stay here. It had all the things we needed. The place is clean and comfortable. The location is great as it is right on the edge of town but easy walk to shops etc.
The camel trail comes past the front door so good for access. There is plenty of car parking spaces on the road and one private.
Only negative point is that the second double bedroom did not have a full length bed.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was immaculately clean and tidy. Comfy beds, comfy sofa : an overall brilliant stay. The kitchen was well equity with everything we needed. We enjoyed the views from the balcony (whilst enjoying the bottle of fizz left for us).
The house is in a good location, plenty of shops close by, and also central for exploring cornwall and Devon. We are already planning our next holiday here, highly recommended!
Waterside cottage is a must for anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay.

I have been renting Waterside as a holiday home for over 25 years and enjoy an 88% repeat booking rate! Previous to that I lived there myself for 2 years and my family still love staying there occasionally, so it is well equipped, well maintained and should provide you with a great home from home. I have lived in Cornwall for a long time and can offer advice on attractions and planning your week if needed. There is loads to see and do and some great places to relax too. We look forward to accommodating you in wonderful Cornwall!
I bought the property because of its fantastic views. Overlooking the playing fields and river is a relaxing experience and you can often spot the swans and sometimes if you are lucky Otters, a Kingfisher and other birds.
I love eating lunch out in the sheltered garden. A Cornish Pasty always goes down well! Even in winter the patio garden with palms is often warm and sunny. Wadebridge has 1742 hours of sunshine a year; 370 more than the UK average. Why not come and spend some extra hours in the sunshine?
It is easily accessible from the A30 and is perfectly located for exploring the many and varied attractions Cornwall has to offer.
Locally, Wadebridge has great amenities whilst the property is located a very short level walk away from them at the edge of town. Almost all the shops are independently owned and there is a great choice for some retail therapy. Also, the Camel Trail woodlands and the bike friendly track from the river to the sea can be immediately enjoyed from just outside the doorstep. Bikes can be hired locally or you can bring your own or opt to explore on foot. The property is perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall. There is a good variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area if you fancy eating out. There is a butchers, fish shop and also bakers and supermarkets. If you want to BBQ, cook a meal or have a picnic these are all easy and easy to achieve! The traditional cinema with comfy seats and the latest films is within a 10 minute level walk. The location of Waterside is just fantastic. Many of our customers come back year after year. Why not come and try it with your partner, friends or family and enjoy it too?
