We had a wonderful stay at Villa Rosa, itâs a great location (isolated) to explore Puglia from. We did many trips to various towns and beaches. The villa is equipped with all the essentials and Pietro was very helpful. Checking in was easy, we contacted Pietro when we landed and again when 30 minutes away. With it being a Sunday and most shops closed we were incredibly thankful for the welcome pack to see us through the evening and morning. Thank you for making our stay memorable. We hope we can make it back again soon.
Fantastic and beautifully restored Trulli. Modern and clean yet keeping the full character of the Trulli design. It is quite remote but if you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting - this is perfect. We were a party of 7 of different ages but everyone loved being here, especially with the lovely pool and outdoor areas. Rozelle was great in that all information was given ahead of our visit, which greatly helped with planning. On arrival, we were provided with a very generous welcome pack. Ceglie Messapica has many choices for eating out, and in terms of places to visit, we found everywhere was in reach of an hour and half drive , but always well worth it. Overall, one of the best holiday accommodations we have booked. Thanks Rozelle
The property is beautiful, the large pool and grounds are well maintained and the location was idyllic, well placed for visiting local towns and attractions. The trulli is well equipped and the welcome pack and use of beach towels were thoughtful touches.
That said, we did experience some issues which marred our overall enjoyment.
The host failed to meet us at the property. We agreed an arrival time with the owner several weeks in advance, and a text was sent to him when we left the airport but he was nowhere to be seen. The property is very rural ie. no mobile signal, so we waited. An hour later there was still no sign of him so we could not access the property. After driving around for a while we found a B&B, explained our dilemma to the owner and he offered us his internet access. From there we called the host repeatedly but he did not pick up any of our calls. We then contacted Vrbo and at 9.30pm someone arrived with keys. 2.5hrs of stressing in the dark wondering where 4 adults and 4 children would sleep that night was not the ideal start.
The second issue was the combi boilers; one in the trulli and one in the kitchen. They functioned very periodically. We contacted the host but he was unable to fix the issue so we were left showering and washing up in cold water for 10 days.
The owner says that the issue with the boilers has not occurred again(?) and that check-in arrangements have since been altered.
If you want to get away from it all this is the place. 5 or so miles out of a town, down some windy roads is all you need to sit back and relax. Everything you need and a bit more. Proper relaxation. You deffo need a car but absolutely everything has been though of for you. Enjoy

We had a lovely stay here! Amazing pool and lovely outdoor area. Very well equipped and maintained. Kids really appreciated the wii and dvds. So quiet in the day...we had foxes visit the pool while we were there along with frogs and there were lots of lovely butterflies and little lizards scurrying about. Really nice welcome pack, had everything you needed and more. Loved the pool house/kitchen and barbecue area, photos don't do it justice!! Very rural location with a v bumpy road which was the only draw back for us, but hardly a major problem!!
A perfect base for exploring the laid back charms of Puglia
Trulli Rosa was an utter treat.
Set deep within the olive groves of the Itria Valley, we were utterly seduced by the tranquility - disturbed only by the swallows energetically swooping over the enormous pool.
The pictures on the website struggle to do the property and its grounds justice. We loved using the oversized outdoor dining table and benches - the perfect spot for lazy breakfasts and lazier lunches - picking sun-warmed figs from the garden, and lounging in the comfy covered pergola.
Our stay coincided with the 2017 Lucifer heatwave, but even 30C temperatures at night caused us little discomfort in our gorgeous, thick-walled Trulli coned bedroom. Sleeping there was a dream.
Rozelle was the perfect host, making sure that we had all the info we needed in advance of the stay, that we were met by the property manager on arrival, and that we were stocked with really handy groceries on our first morning.
With such hot weather during our stay, we did not explore the area extensively, preferring the refuge of the pool. However, trips into Ceglie, along with Ostuni and Cisternino, were enjoyable and an easy drive away. We will need to return to test out the Ionian beaches.
Eating well is taken to a whole new level in Puglia, and Rozelle's excellent list of local restaurants is testament to this. Some of our favs were Cibus in Ceglie and Da Zio in Cisternino.
We are already thinking about when we can return to discover more gastronomic delights!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trulli Rosa. The property was well maintained and very private sitting amongst the olive groves. Our 2 young children enjoyed the pool and there were lots of comfortable covered areas to get out of the midday sun when the temperature gets too hot, the trulli also keeps quite cool. Overall the property is well equipped with games, dvd's and a table tennis table to keep everyone amused. We had a very relaxing time and would highly recommend the property for anyone looking to get away from it all.
We were a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 youngish children) and really enjoyed our stay in this lovely property. The trulli renovations were of a high quality and it was well equipped to support family meals and evenings in with plenty of DVDs plus a Nintendo system. The pool was a good size & well maintained, providing the opportunity for a lovely dip when the heat got too much. The surrounding farmland offered traditional olive trees and some amazing cactus plants where we picked âpricky pearsâ.
Ceglie Messapica was a pretty town with a surprisingly large amount of restaurant choices and some good ice cream parlours for late night desserts too! We definitely needed a car to get around exploring some charming Italian villages, and be aware that some shops still close for long lunches so make sure you time visits right. It get our vote!
This place is ideal for relaxing and visiting around. The villa is just beautiful, well equipped and has a good layout. Fantastic swimming pool, very clean and well maintained, with a gazebo for lazing around. It looks just like it does on the pictures! The olive trees and other fruit trees also make the garden very special. Ceglie-Messapica, a short 10mn drive, is a gorgeous and authentic village where you'll find everything you need. Highly recommended!!!
If you want a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a beautiful location then look no further. We spent a very enjoyable time with our family living mostly outside amongst the backdrop of the olive groves. The trulli has been sympathetically restored and is very spacious and well equipped and there is something for everyone. The outdoor space is spectacular, with a huge pool, a lovely covered seating area providing shade and somewhere to read a book. Family meals are taken outside on a huge table big enough for everyone, and at night you have the stars to gaze at whilst enjoying a glass of locally produced wine. There is also lots to do in the surrounding areas with numerous historic sleepy towns and beaches if you can pull yourself away from the trulli. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning next year.
A fabulously modern, well equipped but sympathetically restored Trullo, great for kids, easily shared with two families. Sleeping In the stone cones is so romantic for adults and fun for little pixies. The brand new pool is spot on with walk in access at one end but deep enough to dive at the other. This region of Puglia has access to some fantastic days out... Don't miss the caves at Castellana, Alberobello is unmissable and an hour and a half down the coast is rewarded with the medieval fishing town of Gallipoli. Rozelle and Simon are really good owners, really communicative and attentive. The Trullo is really private and is not overlooked by any other property, which is great for watching the Milky Way on a night!

We are an English family currently located in Switzerland due to work commitments. We spend most of our holidays in Italy, where we have made many friends and have really fallen in love with the country.
We love Puglia because it exemplifies the real Italy, a slower and more pleasurable pace of life... and it has the added benefit that not many people have discovered it yet!
There really is something for everyone in Puglia from sun kissed beaches, fantastic cusine, historical towns and monuments.
It is also easily accessible with Brindisi airport only about 40 minutes away and Bari around 1 hours drive.
The property has the benefit of being quiet and set among the beauty of the olive and fruit trees.
You really feel secluded and can get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and relax but it is only a short drive to the towns of Ceglie Messapica, Francavilla Fontana and the famous 'White City' of Ostuni.
