Had a great trip to Davis WV. Lots of hiking, nice neighborhood with shopping and restuarants. Our home was clean and very comfortable would visit again!
I was not able to go, but our friends went and had a great time. It was warm enough and the house was cozy. The kitchen floor was the one place that felt cold, maybe some slippers for the guests could help. Great location in town, close to stores/restaurants even in the snow.
This house worked well for a hunting getaway. Everything was comfortable. It is pet friendly (we had two dogs with us), and the fenced in back yard worked well for giving the dogs a quick run before bed. The mud room is awesome. It allowed us to keep all of our hunting gear, dog food, etc. out of the house proper.
The homeâs location is within a very short walk to good food and beverage options (although COVID scale backs limited these choices for us the week we were there).
We would stay there again.
Our family and dogs loved our stay in Davis, WV. The town is tiny, but fun and welcoming. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. We were a short drive from great hikes and outdoor fun. Highly recommended.
This property was perfect for us. The house is older but very well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked. The only AC in the house is in one bedroom upstairs but the window fans kept the house surprisingly cool. I sleep with my ac at home on at least 63 and I was plenty cool at night. The house was super clean and the beds were comfy. It is within walking distance to town. Only one of the restaurants was open, I guess to due COVID, but it was super delicious. It is very close to Black Water Falls and other hiking. Annie is a great host and easy to communicate with.
Communication with the owner was excellent and we enjoyed the well-appointed kitchen and kids amenities. Located conveniently in Davis with lots nearby. Thanks for having us.
Annieâs place is everything you know and love about Davis. The home is inviting and warm. Within walking distance of your favorite Davis hangouts, you wonât be disappointed. Thanks so much for hosting us.
We had an amazing weekend getaway and this house was charming and cozy! Plenty of space and very comfy! We totally took over the kitchen for a brunch spread and had everything we needed for prep and entertaining! A few friends were so enamored and are now referrals for their future bookings! We travel to Tucker County annually and will definitely hope to stay here again!
Annie was very helpful and easy to contact. The house is located close to great restaurants. We had several couples in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us.

Great Spot for Christmas Vacation
We spent 3 nights in this house during our Christmas vacation. The house was perfect for our group which consisted of two families of 4 each. The house was roomier on the inside than appeared from the photos and from the outside. The ground floor has open plan and was perfect size for our needs with large kitchen and bar seating, large table where we shared our meals, and the living room area where we played games. The upstairs bedrooms were cozy. We loved the decorations (Christmas lights, vintage magazines, nature posters in the back room). There were many details that made us feel welcome. We are hoping to come back soon again, perhaps in the summer.
The owner is super nice & accommodating...very quick to reply to emails & text messages! Nice linens, very clean bathrooms & comfortable beds! Thankful for a washer & dryer as our grandbaby vomited on everything 20 minutes prior to arrival in Davis! Grocery is just around the corner...so are the good restaurants!! Our 2 & 4 year old grandkids loved the toys!! We brought our iron for pressing wedding clothes, but I was relieved you provided an ironing board! Only 4/5 stars because there was no air conditioning...I missed that on the website...it was tolerable since the nights cooled off...has some nice window fans & one window air conditioner upstairs. The area was having unusually warm temperatures. The yard & deck need some tlc...yard was mowed on our 3rd day. The shared fire pit was barely visible...opted not to use it...we lacked outdoor seating for our gang. Loved that we were so close to Black Water Falls State Park...a great convenience!! My brother & family rented a house one block away...walked back & forth. Weâre thankful for a clean affordable rental...nice family memories were made!
Growing up as the daughter of diplomatic parents i learned the love of travel and of meeting new people and going to new places. After college at University of California, Santa Cruz and then Grad school at UVA we moved to Keystone, CO where i started a bed and breakfast in our home while raising 4 sons. We moved back east to Bethesda, MD where we currently live, and then bought the place in Davis. The kids are all grown, and just one is still in college. I own a shop in Davis that brings people from all over the area to shop. We have aromatherapy, teas, herbs, spices, clothing and many gifts items to numerous to list. The staff there is usually available for any questions!
Ou 1890s house is very relaxed and comfortable. People immediately feel at home here and love the decorations we've collected from where we lived in Europe and Colorado. We are not "fussy" about our possessions so you don't need to feel tense with children and pets staying at our place! In fact, there are many toys that kids can play with while staying there. I've been hiking/skiing/biking in the area for years so was really happy when we got a place of our own. The area is really safe and people are genuinely friendly. It's close to the Washington, DC area, just 2 hours 40 minutes using the new road 48/55.
The proximity of my shop is a plus! It's a great place to learn more about the area and they have extra keys to the house if needed. The feeling in the home is hard to describe, but everyone who stays here sleeps well and doesn't want to leave! The mud room is really nice for keeping your stuff! The house is within wailing distance of the town (basically in the back yard of the house) which is a bit run-down but improving all the time. We now have a brewery within a few hundred yards of the house!
