Really nice home. Perfect spot for us to visit our son. Neighborhood is quiet, but just blocks away from the heart of the campus. Owner was responsive.
This was our second stay at this lovely bungalow and, as before, it was a peaceful space with everything that we needed to invite our UI freshman over for quality family time and home cooked meals. We look forward to our next stay.
This was just a fantastic place for my husband, daughter and I to stay. So nicely furnished, extremely clean, and such a nice place. This cottage has a charming front and side yard and a screened in porch. Really made our stay the best!
A charming bungalow in an iconic Iowa City neighborhood, close to campus, sports, and a lively downtown.
The host is first rate, easily reached, and always helpful.
Highly recommended.
The location is fantastic. It wasn't far from campus, but it was so quiet at night. I slept like a baby! The owner was very attentive, and she will go the extra mile if you have an issue with your travel plans (which we did). We will be back.
Absolutely the best short term rental we've ever had! Superbly situated to U of Iowa and Iowa city downtown â steps to Hancher auditorium. Tons of light, quiet, beautiful, historic neighborhood. So much attention to detail â all manner of cookware, bathroom supplies, even flashlights etc. I cook tons with a crock pot - and this place has one! The owner was very accessible and lovely to interact with. Just a delight - hope to return in the coming months!
We checked in on a last minute trip to Iowa City and booked this property with very little notice. Madonna was very responsive and helpful in getting us booked, which we really appreciated. The house is great, felt right at home. We had plenty of room to just have some down time and relax, and it was really comfortable. Spent some time in the mornings and late afternoon on the screened in porched to put our feet up. Would highly recommend and would see if it's available again for our next trip to visit.
We visited a delightful 3 weekâs time in this nicely renovated house originally built in 1859. In, or very near, the Brown Street historic district north of downtown, the bungalow is located among many magnificent houses of historic note, so walking tours along bricked streets are a must. Many fine restaurants are within easy reach. Spacious and airy, the bungalow itself is nicely furnished, spotlessly maintained, and well-equipped from kitchen to bathroom. Several sitting areas are available outdoors. We would recommend it without hesitation.
The house is lovely and on a quiet street. The deck is where we spent the majority of the time. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen could use some updated cookware but it had everything we needed and we did make dinner several times. The laundry facilities are in the basement so care is needed going up and down the steep stairs. Great updated bathroom! The house is very clean but a bit more cobweb dusting on the stairs to the basement would be beneficial as well as vent cleaning. Air conditioner rocks! This property would be the first place I check for availability next time Iâm in Iowa City.
The house is adorable, with lots of vintage charm and character. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom has been beautifully redone and the rain shower head is nice with good water pressure. Love the screened In Porch as well and the neighborhood is so lovely and close to everything. If you are planning to make meals, know that the little kitchen is all original with no dishwasher or disposal, little counter space and a small electric range. Everything works well, but preparation and clean up are a bit of work if cooking and eating in is your thing. Also a tip: ask for extra towels if you stay for more than a few days. We had 5 towels for 4 people for 4 days and in the humidity they didn't dry quickly enough to remain usable. Owner is very friendly, nice and helpful.
Our family was in town for move-in day at The University of Iowa. We really needed a place to stay that was convenient to downtown and preferred a peaceful place that would serve as a sanctuary from the chaos of move-in day. The Bungalow was the perfect place for our family. It allowed us to share in a family favorite meal before we flew home. The house felt like home and reflected the friendly and kind disposition of the home's owner. We have a second trip booked already and look forward to making it our home away from home over the next 4 years.
The exterior photo does not do the house or the neighborhood justice. Set on a residential dead end street on the charming north side of Iowa City, the bungalow is surrounded by lovely private homes in one of the oldest parts of Iowa City.
The two bedrooms are at opposite corners of the house offering lots of privacy. The decor has lovely personal touches. Beds and seating are quite comfy.
An easy walk into downtown offers numerous shopping and eating opportunities. If you are a book lover, donât miss the legendary Prairie Lights book store.
We enjoyed our stay at this cute bungalow. Clean and cozy. Appliances are old but well maintained. Great location that is close to all. The basics are here but no food at all Including salt sugar oil etc. There was also no directions outside of an email. Most places leave some information in the unit for guests.

Location, location, location! The home is unique, historic , stylish, artistic and comfortable in an unbeatable location. It's located in-town, yet the landscaping provides the illusion that you're privately nestled in the woods. Enjoy sipping a beverage on the screened in patio and soak up the picturesque views of the Iowa River and new Hancher Auditorium. The home is quaint yet spacious.
