Villa Elena was great - very private and quiet location. Pool was very nice and the house is very well equipped with good AC. Host helped with various questions before and during the stay.
We had a great stay at Villa Elena. It was clean and tidy, great facilities and a great locaion. The house is lovely and spacious and the pool is brilliant, particularly as we were really lucky with the weather being hot and sunny. The views from the top terrace are fantastic. We look forward to returning again.
A very peaceful and convenient location. Restaurants and supermarkets are within 5-10 minutes drive, and the train station at Colleferro (about 15 minutes drive) provides a train service into the centre of Rome.
The villa itself is like a home from home; comfortable and well stocked with everything you might need.
The villa was very well equipped, and furnished. Pool was lovely and the location was great to get into Rome cheaply. We parked at Valmontone station (16 minutes away) and took the train into the centre of Rome which was only a few Euros.
Over all we had a great time and would recommend the Villa
A beautiful house, welcoming environment, well-equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, generally very good services. The pool is very nice. John, the owner, is a very kind person. The place is truly peaceful to spend relaxing days. Roberto, the neighbour, is a very helpful person. Thank you!
We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at this spacious villa. The scenery is beautiful and the area quiet. The pool was the best feature of the house and most of our time was spent here. Would definitely recommend to families who like a pool. We came here from Rome via Naples and did our sightseeing before hand so didn't feel the need to leave the villla other than a few trips to the supermarket and to the local small hilltop village. Not much to do other than that unless you want to drive for at least half an hour.
Good well equipped property in quiet rural location. Easy 45 mins train journey to Rome, 0ne hour from Hadrianâs villa and 2 hours from Pompei.
We had an excellent relaxing holiday and would recommend the property to others.
Spacious and well equipped property in a lovely rural location.
We stayed as a family of 5 in August 2018. Villa Elena exceeded our expectations. The living areas are large but cosy and comfortable, the kitchen and dining area very well equipped. The bedrooms all have comfortable beds and pillows and plenty of storage. The whole house and pool was very clean. The terrace and balcony have lovely views over the hills and the pool area also has a fantastic view and is very private. The pool area was a great hit with all the family and the conveniently located downstairs laundry and shower area meant that all wet clothes and children could be taken care of before going back into the house! The surrounding area of Paliano is very pretty and the journey to towns such as Tivoli very easy. On the advice of the owner, John, we took the train to Rome from Colleferro which was very easy for us despite our complete inability to speak Italian! The sites of Pompeii and Vesuvius are also easy to get to from Villa Elena. The location and villa was a perfect base for us to reach the places we wanted to visit and we had such a lovely house to come back to and a big pool to cool off in, after those hot days of sightseeing!!
My family, consisting of my husband, two daughters, two sons-in-law and two grandchildren, stayed at this villa for a week. We all loved it! It is exactly as described on the website, although I would agree with a previous reviewer that the living room is actually bigger than it looks online. We subsequently discovered that all the beds were comfortable, the showers worked really well, with lots of hot water and the whole villa was well equipped and spacious. The views from the terraces, especially the top one, were fantastic and the pool a welcome relief from the heat at the end of the day. It is in quite a rural location but we didn't mind this at all. A couple of nights we heard some dogs barking, which kept a couple of us awake. However, it is quite hard to find anything wrong with this villa - the only problem we had was that there isn't a shallow end to the pool so it was more difficult for my 5 year grandson to enjoy - but he still had a great time. If we came to this area again, I would definitely stay again and would be quite happy to recommend it to friends. Thank you to the owners for sharing!
We visited as a family in july. It was very hot so needed the air con. The pool was a nice temperature and the house was very accommodating for the children . It was fanstastic
This villa and pool are beautiful, spacious, tranquil and very private. The pool is a really good size for plenty of fun. Relaxing by the pool or sitting on the 2 balconies is a real treat with fabulous daytime views and wonderful nighttime skies. The villa is very comfortable with lots of kitchen equipment and home comforts. We were there during a heatwave and valued the air con. We had a problem at the start with the water supply as the pump broke (probably due to struggling with a lower voltage supply in the area during the heatwave). The owner John was easily contactable on the phone, and the caretaker Roberto was on hand to arrange for it to be fixed. Having this problem did make the first couple of days more stressful and inconvenient, but the rest of our experience was a definite 5/5.
There is nothing within walking distance from the villa, so a car is a must. The local hilltop town of Paliano is 8 minutes away, and is small but has a reasonable convenience store. We had a great day out to Ostia Antica to see the ruins. For visiting Rome on the train, it cost us 2 Euros to park near the train station 15 minutes from the villa, and then 45 minutes into central Rome.
We would definitely return to this villa if planning a similar holiday.
Great villa, fabulous kitchen, air conditioning was a big positive. Fresh linen was high quality and changed half way through holiday. It's difficult to think of anything negative here. Very handy for Rome only 35 mins on train. Highly recommended.
From the moment we were contacted by the owners of this amazing villa we felt very much at ease, we have rented with this company before but this is the first time in Italy. All the information required for our trip was very thorough and the owners were very diligent in answering our emails and questions., of which there were many. The pictures and descriptions are very accurate the only one which surprised us was the lounge, the picture makes it look small, it is not. If you want to be in the countryside and feel part of Italy this is the place to be. All the relevant information you would need is available in the villa, we were also able to talk to the owner when we had a query. The villa is stunning, we were a party of four but it has the capacity for much more. I am quite a picky person and there was nothing that I would have had to comment on. The villa itself is well set out with lots of inside and outside space, the pool was great and used very frequently, having a downstairs laundry room complete with a separate wet room was very handy. Our favourite space was the large mezzanine terrace with the stunning views, early in the morning when it is still and quiet sitting watching the mists clear was a lovely way to start the day, as was it at the end of the day having a lovely meal and watching the sun set and the sounds of night time in the Italian countryside invading your senses.Whether you wish to have a crazy fun filled holiday or just to unwind and relax the Villa Elean will not disappoint. My husband has been to Italy many times with work but this was a life times ambition for me and it proved everything I hoped it would be, when you start with a really good place to stay everything else falls into place. We went to Rome by train which was a short drive from the villa to the local train station, hoped on the early train and arrived in Rome an hour later. We were lucky with the language as English is not spoken as much in this rural area, we always took our phrase books and dictionary with us when we went out. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to any friends or family.
Villa Elena was perfect in every way. The Villa is ideally located within easy access of stunningly beautiful villages and a short drive into Rome. The pool was pristine and safe. The BBQ terrace area was our favorite most nights, with its amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Everything worked perfectly and my wife loved the kitchen. The only query we had was immediately sorted by the owners who were a mere phone call away. Certainly will be returning soon. Thank you Villa Elena!
We enjoyed a fabulous 2 weeks in August 2014.The house is in a brilliant position within striking distance of Rome by car or local train. Great supermarket a couple of miles away and some good restaurants too. We had everything we could possibly need and masses of inside and outside space. The pool is great and the area is quiet with great views. Finding the property was easier than we anticipated given its rural location. The owners were easy to contact and instilled that really important feeling of trust which you need when booking a holiday. Can't fault our experience. We would happily return.Thank you so much for a truly memorable holiday.

We bought the Villa in 2002 and the whole family regularly holidays there every year.
The property is situated on a hillside just outside the beautiful medieval town of Paliano within the National Park area of Ciociaria. The area is really not well known abroad and is still very "italian" - something we love. It spacious and very tranquil and just the place to chill out.
It's also close enough to Rome to pop in for the evening. There is so much to see in the area but if you really appreciate history Rome/Naples/Pompei are within easy reach.
