Loved the location and privacy! Beautiful beach within walking distance, close to Murray River great food at the Harbourview and quaint little market with everything you might need. Would definitely book again!
Nice tranquil place for me
My friend would have liked wifi and television as he speaks only french and found it long
But all in all beautiful place and beautif7l stay
Very Quiet Relaxing place with a nice breeze on hot days to keep you cool. Everything you need Included. The one downside was spotty Internet Connections ...Worked better some days than others.
Doomed from the start. Multiple buildings on property with no guidance which one was mine. The renter of the main unit helped me figure it out. The only picture of the outside of the building is of the screened in porch, which is the back of the building and not seen from any arrival point. No laundry in the unit. A refrigerator that sounds like a cow calving. Limited to no WiFi reception, which means no internet connection as there is none through the listing. Now to the real problem. I went on the screened in porch, which is the best feature of the property, to start the grill for dinner and was stung by a bee. After I had retreated inside, I noticed over a dozen dead bees on the porch floor and a centimeter gap in the wall where they must have come through. I can only imagine how bad the mosquitoes must be. Luckily for me, Iâm not allergic, but also not foolish enough to stay longer than absolutely necessary. I left after the first night of a three night booking. I contacted the host about the issues, but didn't hear anything until I involved VRBO. They stated there was laundry in another outbuilding, although none of the literature in the cottage indicated that. They also said they had cleaned the porch before my arrival, so the bees must be recent. (My note: over a dozen dead bees on the floor in a short period of time isn't a great selling point.) The host offered to discount my stay, but I haven't seen anything yet.
Overall, the home was clean and a good space for max 2 people. The positives being: the location was quiet and peaceful, many nearby beaches and cliff lookouts that were mostly used by locals only. Charlottetown only an hour away. The negatives being the couch is extremely uncomfortable, ocean view is minimal and no access to the ocean through the property. We ended up having to drive to the beach each time which was not expected. Kitchen had no sponges to clean dishes and minimal supplies. We were most looking forward to the screened in porch, however the chairs available were very old and covered in mold. A moderate stay considering the price is quite low.
A nice place to stay, not too hard to find. A dirt/grass road leads directly into the cottage. Parking is close. Lots of amenities and friendly staff.
Pros:
Very clean and well maintained.
Fantastic view.
Nice screened in deck in the back.
Easy check in.
Cons:
Dirt path to the place has fairly deep ruts, if you have a low car you will scrape the bottom. Keep to one side or the other of the ruts and its fine.
The cottage next door is very close, to the point where your bedroom and living room windows and their yard are lined up. If you're looking to be completely alone, this cottage might not be for you. Otherwise, it's great!
Immaculately clean from corner to corner!! Hot water and coffee makers VERY appreciated. SUPER quiet. The water view was quite a distance away, but we could see it. The bed was comfortable, but when futon was very uncomfortable because of the center bar down the middle. It is very prominent and hurts to sleep on. But I managed because I gave my sister the bed. I am a side sleeper so it works for side sleepers, if you sleep on the edge. Easy fix would be to bring an inch thick foam pad for a twin bed or a blow up mattress to lay over the futon.
What I LOVED most happened on our arrival. We got out of the car and were met by the howls of a large pack of coyotes and a sky that had every inch packed with stars. The Milky Way was easy to see... it was spectacular and breathtaking!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Unmet expectation, although it is a fine cottage conversion.
We picked this location because we knew we needed the laundry. We could clearly tell that while the intend to have that was there, they were not there and had not been there recently either, no notes, no warning, nothing. And yes, if we had knew ahead of time we would have cancelled this one and booked somewhere else. Looks like internet might have been there at some point, which would have been useful.
The "cottage" itself is nice, clean and furbished. There are a heater in the main room and one in the bedroom. There are none in the bathroom, and the lack of ventilation in the bathroom meant that things were staying damp, since it was humid outside, so having a window was not helpful either. The pullout bed feels like an afterthought. It's one of those that has the seat and back cushion with several dips and ridges, so it's not very comfortable and would benefit from having an inch thick soft cover.
The deck is mosquito proof, which is great, does have a nice view. Access to the beach is not by the field in front of the property, but by 10 minutes walk via the main road and down a dirt road, or 1-2 min by car. It's a nice secluded little beach.
Our expectations were created from the descriptions when we booked back in January, and they were only partially met.
Je lâe mavait dit qui avait une tv et du wifi
Et avait rien de sa jai asseiller et asseiller de comuniquer avec eux pa u reponce ete ou liger de aller coucher a la n hotel

Wonderful remote location. Quaint cottage with all the essentials down east. Only hang up was there is no WiFi and limited cell reception. Would stay again
Quiet, peaceful and calm. If you need to unplug for a few days, this is the perfect spot! It is close to Woods Island Ferry. The hosts have great communication and are very helpful.
The listing says it has everything you need but they only have plates, cups and cutlery. You should bring your pans and baking sheets if you want to use the oven. Also there were no salt, pepper or sugar, there were only 2 toilet paper rolls and not enough dish soap.
Other than that, it was nice.
The area is just lovely. Easy access to the lighthouse and the beach. The views of the sunset are amazing. It was quiet and peaceful. We all enjoyed our days exploring and the quiet cool nights for sleeping.
We arrived to what he assumed was the property, there was no real signage other than the civic address. After determining that this was in fact out rental, we went inside and found that we had no toilet tissue. After several calls unable to reach the owner, We searched the cottage in for a number to call for help. In one of the drawers was a piece of paper with a phone number, which ended up being the property manager who brought us toilet tissue right away. She was great to deal with but we had no idea that the âownerâ wasnât who we should have called for help. Other than that small issue, the stay was great.
This little cottage is beyond adorable and quaint. The view of the water is absolutely breathtaking. The cottage was spotless and very cozy. I will for sure be back!
Easy to get to & rather non challant check in process. Kitchen could be better equipped. Has a ground beetle problem that needs addressing. Overall though, very nice.
The cottage is better than the pictures.
All new interior.
Everything we needed, and a beautiful view of colourful fields from the screened in porch.
Quiet and restful, just what we wanted.
