This house was a beautiful place to stay! It was exactly as described and fit our family just perfectly. We were all comfortable any place in the house, and the views were stunning. Highly recommend!
The home was beautiful and comfortable for our family and dogs. What a delightful break from the summer heat. We had everything we needed and Waynesville was very convenient. The subdivision road to the property is surprisingly steep, but we got used to it.
We loved this cabin! It was clean. Kitchen was well equipped - plenty of pots and pans, dishes and glasses. Bed in master was very comfortable and no complaints from the others so I assume they were comfortable as well. Location felt secluded but we werenât far from WaynesvilleâŠabout 15 minutes to a grocery store. The view from the back porch was beautiful! I recommend a trip to Cataloochee Valley and a drive down Hwy 215 and the parkway. We would definitely stay in this cabin again.
Cool house, very beautiful view from the window, but everything was ruined by the Manager, who did not send the code for the house in advance and we tried to get it while near the house for an hour. Maybe it was excellent service?;)))
We decided to escape the city, and this cabin was amazing. The view is fantastic, and the house is well and properly maintained. It is a tranquil area with no place close to it. Ensure you have a great car and brakes to go up/down this hill. You will get used to it. The house is super equipped with all kitchen gadgets, furniture, etc. If you like quietness, this is the place. Make sure you buy some groceries. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance, Asheville, and other nice areas.
The cabin was in a quiet setting with a great view of the mountains. The log structure was impressive and cozy warm against the cold temperatures. Cleanliness however was an issue in that most of the cooking utensils that we used were sticky from previous use and the cabinet glass above the stove was greasy. Our biggest issue was that the master bath sink was stopped up. I contacted Mr. Giovanni on the first day of our stay to report the sink issue and he mentioned that he may need to get a plumber. After about four days I voiced my displeasure at not having the problem resolved. When we left on the last day the sink was still clogged and there had been no correspondence from Mr. Giovanni. The clogged sink was a nuisance. Being ghosted by Mr. Giovanni, however, indicated he didn't care about our inconvenience.
We had a great time. Property and house were clean and neat. The only complaint I have was there was not enough toilet paper for 8 people, but the owner did mention in the instructions that there was a limited amount and to bring more if you think you need it, which we did. The view is absolutely beautiful. Beds and sheets were very comfortable. Overall, a lovely house that worked perfectly for our family.
The property was well stocked, and was amazingly clean. Was disappointed with the host's email communications, and phone graciousness. But the property is very nicely rustic, well-maintained, with a great mountain top view.
This was a beautiful home on the mountaintop. Plenty of room for our entire family. It was a great New Year celebration spot. It was beautiful and private but close enough to grocery stores and necessities. The power went out in the middle of the night on our last night due to a storm, but the property maintenance man, (I believe his name was Tony, sorry if Iâm wrong) went above and beyond to contact the power company and get it restored promptly.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was as described. The mountain views are beautiful. My only suggestion is a little bit deeper cleaning in between guest. The comforter in the master bedroom had lots of dog hair all over it. Also, some of the dishes in the cabinet had dog hair on them. Other than that it was a great place. Everything worked as expected.
Driveway up the mountain is a little nerve-wracking one lane paved road thats steep and curvy, but its worth the drive up the mountain for the beautiful views.
Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
This home was perfect and just what we were looking for we had gorgeous weather this house has many porches and decks to enjoy quiet and scenery. I love to cook and this kitchen was amazing as it was stocked with everything I needed. There is a beautiful view from every window and there are many beautiful large windows to see out. The living space was very comfortable and very roomy.
Directions and check-in were excellent and communication with the owner was great. We would definitely come back.
Thank Giovanni.
This property has some massive advantages including high elevation, amazing layered mountain views, incredibly quiet seclusion, covered outdoor seating area, accessible roads, convenience to Waynesville, covered parking, "real" A/C on both living levels (no window units) and an upgraded kitchen. Before renting again though, I would ask to see if these "drawbacks" have been addressed. We could not access the upper parking area (it would require a high chassis AWD to do so) so we had to deal with stairs constantly. The outdoor furniture needs a serious upgrade. The indoor lighting is poor, needs more lamps. The kitchen/dining seating is mostly benches, only a couple of chairs. Upon check-in, we found the cabin very clean upstairs but filthy in the downstairs garage and basement areas. Most of the outdoor lighting was out of service. There were several other minor items including no upstairs bathtub drain plug, several failed window shade locks, and inoperable upstairs ceilings fans. If these items have been addressed, you will not find a better property anywhere in this area. Giovanni is an excellent host and responded to all of our needs. Oh, and Tony, the maintenance man, is a great guy!
Mountain Home was nice set up high in the mountains. Maintenance is needed for exterior lighting which didnât work, blinds in the family room need replacement, & master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced, very uncomfortable causing back pain.
The property and house were everything that was promoted. The drive up was a little harrowing with the road being so small, but well worth the view! Would definitely visit again!
Myself and a small group of friends from church rented this beautiful home for the weekend and loved every moment! The location was great and the views were breathtaking! The road to the house is very steep but it appears to have recently been paved and our Chevrolet Suburban had no problems making it up! (I did switch it to âtow/haulâ mode going up and that helped tremendously!) My one and only ânegativeâ thing to comment about the home were the beds in the upstairs rooms. They were âfineâ for the two night stay but not anything we looked forward to sleeping on. They however would have no influence on us not renting this home again! We loved our stay and look forward to renting it again! Donât hesitate to book this home!
Property and views are amazing, pictures do not do it justice. Home was clean, well equipped, and in working order. Kids and dog loved exploring the woods and creek. Truly a gem.
We had an amazing time at this Mountain Home for a little spring break! Our 3 and 5 year olds spent hours playing in the woods, climbing rocks, and exploring along the small creek that ran down next to the home - which was a delightful sound to read by. Watching sunrises over Balsam Ridge across the way was spectacular (if you adventure over that way, you can get a view of the houseâs green roof with a pair of binoculars from Rainbow Nursery). Downtown Waynesville is a delight, but was a little crowded as we drove through on a Friday afternoon - weâd love to pop into some shops when Covid is behind us. We were surprised by a very frigid morning (15° but felt like 3!!!) when we woke up on April 2nd, but the cozy fireplace kept the home nice and toasty. The well appointed kitchen was great to cook in, and we enjoyed eating at the reclaimed wood dining table overlooking the gorgeous view. Easy day trips to many trails and points of interest make this a great base for exploring. The road to the home is as to be expected for the views you hope to gain - a few switch backs and some pretty steep/narrow sections of road. Our Subaru Outback was in its element! The kids were so sad to leave and are already asking if we can go back to Plott Mountain Home soon! Thanks for a great stay.
Our family had an enjoyable stay at Plott Mountain House for our vacation in Waynesville, NC. The House was spacious for our group of 5 (plus fur-baby). The view off the back balcony was lovely and ever-changing. The kitchen was nicely appointed and we enjoyed a hearty breakfast each morning.
Several posters mentioned that the drive up the mountain could be somewhat challenging. Our group had two vehicles (one was an SUV and the other was not) and although my husband and son-in-law did find the drive up the mountain a bit challenging at first, they navigated it successful each time we ventured out and returned. However, we did decide it was best to make sure we returned to the house before dark, since driving up at night was a bit more nerve-racking. Even though we don't live in the mountains, we have vacationed there yearly and my husband has always managed to handle any challenging roads with our non-SUV vehicles.
Thank you for helping to make our Fall vacation so enjoyable!
My family and I had a very pleasant stay here. The house and surroundings are very pretty. Our stay was in the middle of the fall which added more charm and magic. Everything in the property was in perfect order and communication with owner excellent. The house is very large and comfortable. The laundry area in the basement is huge and the kitchen has a killer view. The road to get to the home is indeed steep but manageable after a couple of trips. I strongly recommend to arrive in daylight the first day to get acquainted with it. My only regret of the stay was that it was too short!
