Matt made certain we had all we needed for a comfortable stay! We loved the proximity to everything PV! We walked to a lot of restaurants, the Malecón, the beaches, and the markets and most everything PV has to offer is walkable. We had two Terrances, with lots of seating where we enjoyed the west coast breezes at night coming from the bay. The top terrace provides views of Zona Romántica and the Bay of Banderas. The pool was the first place I would go take dips after spending a day out having fun. The stunning views and beautiful sounds of PV will have us returning. We made it feel like home for the 33 days we were there!

Great location, poor air quality

WE enjoyed the hike home to the casita. The view from the top was lovely but the new tall building being built is affecting that. The property manager was kind. Some noise from traffic and dogs barking as we needed to keep the windows open as the air quality was affected by mildew which isn't great for anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities. The situation was made worse by artificial/chemically scented air purifiers. The dehumidifier was noisy and heat generating.. A squeegee is needed for the shower.

Beware of Mold and Mildew

The casita would have been okay if it wasn't for the unhealthy amount of mold and mildew that is not present in any of the photos. Also, the terrace 'swimming pool' is simply a hot tub filled with cold water. Not a body of water you would want to share with other visitors you don't know. My stay was very disappointing and the surrounding abandoned buildings surrounding the casita was a bit unsettling. Just nothing like what I imagined from looking at the photos. The view from the terrace was beautiful, though, and the bed was comfortable. T

I’m sorry that you were disappointed with the Casita. As we covered in the email when asked we sent the maid out to clean the house for you again and address your mildew concerns. The first time, you sent the maid away and then again asked that she be sent to clean. We obliged and after, offered to move you to he main house if you were not happy. You told us in email that it was fine and the maid had done a good job cleaning and you didn’t need to move. As to the pool, it is in several pictures and the description calls it a soaking pool - they are very common in Mexico, especially in Puerto Vallarta. It seems you didn’t look at the pictures or description that carefully. Last, there is one building that is being built (but the owner has stopped construction). The other homes may not be luxurious, but they are lived in by our neighbors. I’m sorry that their standard of living is not up to your expectations. Again, sorry that you were not happy, but during and after your stay, your story and comments changed. We tried to work with you and you said everything was fine, until you checked out.

Casita Madina - something to consider in PV

The accommodation is a studio apartment higher on the hill above zona romantica. It has all the essentials with appliances for cooking, cutlery and crockery etc, and has a good sized walk in shower in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. It has air conditioning if needed. The sun deck and soaker pool were nice to use on a hot day. Neighbourhood is safe. Renters should know that it is not far from zona romantica and the beach but has some steep hills to go up and down to get there, so physical fitness is required if walking. Frida’s, Serrano’s, Qculture, and Tintocque were local restaurants i enjoyed and there are small stores and larger stores for essentials nearby

Casita Rustica

It's a small studio on the ground floor of a 2 story house. The larger upper floor is rented out separately. On the roof there's a dunk pool, some comfortable chairs and an observation tower from which you can see all of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay. A home tienda is steps away with a very sweet Mexican family selling snacks, beer.and other necessities. The only caveat is the steepness of the road to the casita. Cars and trucks have to gun their engines to get to a turnaround on top. I took a fall walking down to the cross street. All TV was en espanol. All utilites and appliances worked well. In all, not the typical tourist stay, which was just what I wanted. .

Walkers who want a challenge

Sweet studio apartment accurately depicted in photos and in the write up. Easy walking DISTANCE to shops, restaurants, busses and Malecon. Killer hills and/or stairs for the way home. If you are a walker it’s a workout. We are in our late 60’s and outwalked the younger folks who stayed above us who opted for UBeRor taxis to get the up the steep hills home. Our major criticisms are the neighbourhood roosters crowing all night and lack of even warm water in kitchen sink. AC was great, as was property manager and owner. Great value for the money

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay-

Was greeted upon arrival by apt mgr who went over things and gave me keys. Whenever I had a question or a problem, she was prompt in responding. The 3 streets from Basilio Badilla up to the Casita were very steep, but I was warned. Had a few problems with tv/cable not coinciding with the Guest Book, but the owners emailed that they had not updated the book since acquiring new tv's. Loved it and would stay there again.

Relax With a View

I recently spent almost three weeks in this comfortable, affordable apartment, in a great location in Alta Vista, above Zona Romantica. The roof top patio was peaceful, and I enjoyed the view of Banderas Bay. I thought of the climb, up the hill home, as exercise to wear off the extra holiday calories. When lazy or loaded with groceries, the taxi ride was only 50 pesos. The owner Matt and Property Manager, Gabi, were both friendly and helpful. I would recommend this studio especially for singles who want to spend time in Puerto Vallarta but not break the bank.

Great little secluded spot walking distance into the city with stunning views!

Casa Madina is that perfect spot to come back to after a day at the beach or a walk through Puerta Vallerta! It’s simple, clean and cozy. The bed is super comfortable for a good nights sleep and the air conditioning makes it a perfect temp. The rooftop is a perfect spot to enjoy the amazing views of the city and read a book or have a cerveza! Gabi was great at getting us checked in and answering questions. Matt the owner was super responsive and a pleasure to work with. One of the best values in PV!
