The description was spot on. Arrived at a clean space and no odors. We loved the convenience to the beach and the places to eat nearby. You can walk everywhere. I would definitely rebook this cozy bungalow again in a minute! The host was great, answered any questions I had very quickly. Check-in was seamless as well. She wanted to know immediately if everything wasn't as we expected. It was!
Check-in was straight forward. Everything went down-hill from there. Deceptive photos - the place looks nothing like what is advertised. I found cochroaches in the unit. Kitchen was barely useable. Most pots and pans were rusty or scratched up. I Tried to message host repeatedly and didn't get a response until 72 hours later. I tried to get support from VRBO and they asked me to send photos. I have now checked out and have yet to hear from anyone. About the only thing good about this place was its proximity to the beach which is 5 minutes away.
The outside was not very attractive. Suggest upgrading porch steps and furniture. Could have paid the exact price for hotel with nicer accommodations. However it was clean and bed was fairly comfortable. I was able to walk to the beach in a couple of minutes.
The quant cottage is in a great location, few blocks off the beach and near plenty of retail. Comms and check-in with owner were seamless. The interior of the cottage needs some work: there was mildew on the shower curtain and inside the small shower. A fresh coat of paint and a good cleaning would greatly enhance this property. For the money, it was an okay to stay but wouldn't recommend this to a party of more than 2 staying for longer than a day.
Itâs sufficient for a short stay with 2 people or less.
The pictures were a little misleading. The rental could use some up dating and refreshing on decode. Rusted outdoor chairs and table. Thought there was a back yard for the dog which there was not. The kitchen was stocked okay. Nice short walk to beach which was nice. Over all not a horrible stay but a little disappointed.
The outside is not as well kept as the pictures. They must be old. I washed all the dishes prior to use and only used the pots. The frying pans had old burnt on food and I was on vacation and did not want to get out the brillo pads, besides I paid an 80 something dollar cleaning fee. The place could be really cute and is in a great location to beach, pier, restaurants and grocery stores all within a mile or two. Would stay again, but bring my own pots and pans. We went there to relax and we did accomplish that. Did not really get in touch with the landlord, but she gave great instructions for check in, but none for check out so we just did the things you normally need to do, empty trash and remove our belongings.
This was such a cute little place and a quick walk to the beach. Lots of construction going on in the area, so a bit noisy, but we would definitely go back.đŽđ
Mandy was very helpful, friendly and fast to respond to any requests or questions. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. Close to the beach. We are looking forward to coming next year..
If you're looking for fancy, this ain't it. It was a cozy, "just right" beach bungalow - not too big, not too small. When I arrived, I noticed a couple of concerns - I messaged Mandy and she IMMEDIATELY addressed and corrected the concerns. Her customer service surpassed any hotel I've ever stayed at.
Although small and size it was perfect for my daughter and I who traveled to Jacksonville to obtain eye surgery. We didnât want to be in a hotel where it was loud and a lot of people. This was one bedroom of futon slept four, which is perfect for the two of us had a outside porch, which is what she wanted to be able to utilize when she was not able to see she wanted to just enjoy being outside in the sun and the fresh air and not be cooped up in a motel room this exceeded our expectations.
Good experience, close to beach, great place to have a pet. Only issue was that we wanted to be able to use the back yard for a dog. Back yard was unkept and not usable. High grass, openings under the crawlspace where the dog would climb in, and generally not in good condition. Otherwise it was a great place to stay with a pet.
Pictures are deceiving. No fan in bedroom though one was seen on a shelf, just not installed. Hole in ceiling where fan was meant to be was filled with rags/towels. The mini split unit alone located in âliving spaceâ area was not enough to provide cool temps for sleeping - it was miserable at night. Location to beach was access was great but a LOT of construction surrounding the unit made for a less than pleasant stay. Place has potential for sure but needs some TLC.
Hi, thanks for taking your precious time to read more about me :) My name is Mandy and I am a local realtor and property manager. I love to travel and make new friends around the world. Yoga is one of my favorite daily practice. To own a beautiful beach property and decorate it nicely to share with travelers around the world has been always my passion.
I fall in love with Jacksonville Beach when I first visit my family and friends here back in 2 years ago. A small quiet beach town that conveniently close to everything we need. Quiet and safe neighborhood with super friendly neighbors :)
1 block walk to watch beautiful sunrise in early morning and jogging on the beach later afternoon. Half block from tennis courts and park, 3 blocks from Whole-food Market and many of my favorite restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoy ride bike alone the beach to breath the fresh ocean-air.
