Our family absolutely enjoyed our visit to Turks and Caicos, which was made better by our stay in this rental. Beautiful views and relaxing time. Loved the easy access to the ocean and beach, but after long days of exploring, it was great to play and relax in the pool. Property manager, Spot, was great. Highly recommend!
We wanted to be away from all the hustle and bustle of a busy town and thatâs what we got. Need to plan for food before you get there which we knew about from checking reviews. Check-in was so easy. The host met us at the ferry and helped get us settled. Such a lovely stay. My son said, âIâve been waiting my whole life for a vacation like this!âThank you for this s lovely experience.
Our family of five just returned from a six day stay at Whale Watch. The house, location, and experience was amazing! The location is perfect and online photos do not do the property or location justice. The adjacent beach is beautiful and adjacent restaurant was wonderful. We would recommend this property and location to anyone interested in a relaxing location away from the craziness of Provo.
We loved our stay. The place was beautiful, quiet and near everything. The stars at night are in the best night sky Iâve ever seen. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This was our second time staying at this beautiful villa. We love the views here at Dragon Cay! The pool is fantastic and the island is absolutely stunning!!
Our family of five, boys ages 15-21, spent a wonderful week here at Whale Watch over Christmas. This was our first time traveling over the holiday and it did not disappoint. The house was perfect for us. We loved how close we were to the beach. The boys enjoyed fishing & snorkeling. The hidden beach is just amazing and it was great having Mudjin Beach Bar right there for lunch or even the dinner option a few days a week. We enjoyed having the plunge pool and the spectacular view from the porch and patio. We would love to come back again in the future! Definitely a more remote vacation but was exactly what we were looking for!
This home is absolutely wonderful and delivers even more than it promises in the VRBO listing. The views and the vibe are outstanding. The outdoor spaces are well appointed , very thoughtful and accommodating. Pool is great. The inside of the house is very comfortable. The kitchen is great for cooking... Spot, who assists the owners, did some shopping before we arrived (for a fee) as we were arriving on Sunday and with tight connections. As a plus (or minus depending on your group) the lower king suite is ample and lovely, but has separate entrance so does not connect/flow to the rest of the house. Enthusiastically recommend this VRBO!!
If you want seclusion this is the place! Great views and so relaxing. Just chill.
Only down side, mosquitos
Owner was very responsive and Spot was great when we had issues.
We had a great stay at Whalewatch. The pool was so nice. Cindy was an excellent host! Dragon Cay is so spectacularly beautiful and having the luxury of the Mudjin bar and cafe right there was so special! We canât wait to go back!
Absolute gem. Amazing home, incredible location. The home is very comfortable, the pool is amazing and the views are spectacular. North and Middle Caicos have so much to offer, see and do. Canât wait to come back. Thank you!
This property is a great way to get away from it all, yet it was close to an awesome bar/restaurant in Dragon Cay. There are a few homes nearby, but we seldom saw others. We rented a Jeep and had a great time traveling the area. The sailboat race festival was amazing with wonderful island food and music! A great experience.
We stayed at Whale Watch for 5 nights this May and enjoyed every minute.
The house is lovely and well appointed.
We especially loved the large porch where we could literally see all of Middle Caicos.
Ocean breezes and endless sunshine filled our days and having a pool with a view of Mudjin Harbor was absolutely incredible.
Short driving distance to Bambarra Beach, Seaview Cafe and the caves.
Communication with the owner and house manager was terrific, check in/out was a breeze.
We had everything we could need and will definitely be booking Whale Watch again in the future!
Our stay at the beach cottage was simply magical! Despite a minor hiccup with the cottage not being cleaned when we first arrived, the on-island contact was fantasticâwithin 30 minutes, the charming and thorough cleaning lady had everything spotless. The cottage was cozy, with stunning views and a virtually private beach just a minute's walk away. The pool was perfect, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
This is the type of vacation where you read, relax by the pool or at the beach, or explore other nearby beaches and the local Indian Caves. There arenât any tourist attractions or activities, which is exactly what we wanted and needed to relax and recharge. A quick note: while small stores are on the island, food options are limited and pricey, so we recommend bringing some provisions from Providenciales. Our three kids had an absolute blast, and we didnât want to leave!
We enjoyed the peaceful environment, amazing views and pool! We loved everything about our stay at Whale Watch - except for the mosquitos! However - along with all the typical amenities - there was both sunscreen and bug spray available in the house.
If you are looking for a party environment, loud and crazy night clubs this is NOT the place for you.
This is a family, chill environment and being greeted by the housekeeper and local property manager made us feel super comfortable.
Would highly recommend.
Beautiful and peaceful. People of North and Middle are AALL FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. A step back in time. Didnât think we would use the pool much- we did. And itâs great. Wonder if 20 years from now, will North and Middle be the same? Itâs special.
Whale Watch Villa was great for our family - the location is absolutely beautiful. The house set-up is great-kitchen is really well equipped and the pool area is really nice. Make sure you bring bug spray--we had lots of mosquitos and no-seeums the week we were there. We did find more insect repellent at the Texaco Gas station on North Caicos. The restaurant at Dragon Cay is a short walk from the house and the food is delicious-it is open for lunch and while we were there for dinner on Wednesday and Saturdays. We also ate at Sea View Cafe in Conch Bar--very yummy. Make sure you get ice cream at Parrotice on North Caicos-really cute place and good homemade ice cream. We brought some dry goods with us and purchased the rest of our groceries on North Caicos (Dards was well stocked). We cooked most dinners at the house. The beach at Dragon Cay is beautiful-we snorkeled at low tide and went out to the cay. We also went to Bambarra Beach twice and walked out to the cay there. The water was very calm at Bambarra Beach and it is a short drive from Dragon Cay. Whale Watch Villa was beautiful and a great place for a family vacation.
The house is very secluded and out the way the local store is a good 20 minutes away. Itâs a lot of stuff I wish I knew before hand like each person would require $65 ferry to get to the beach house. The ferry stops at 5 so there is no way to enjoy the main islands night life while staying at this home. 3 bedrooms but 1 is separate from the main house and has poor WiFi no tv and no shower. We were advised not to take long showers because water is limited. While on vacation after being on the beach sometimes a long shower is needed but we had to be mindful. Spot was very helpful. Cindy I felt like she was used to accommodating wealthy travelers because for all the money I spent I didnât really feel welcomed or appreciated by her. The view and private pool were the best part. The house it self was nice just a lot of work overall. I would still give it a 10/10 just for the experience. Bambara beach was down the street a ways but worth the trip to see a totally different style of beautiful beach.
Wonderful place to stay. House was nice and location spectacular.
The rooms are not incredibly big nor private from each other (on the main floor) but the views are stunning. We would definitely come back.
Best grocery selection was definitely Dard's (we stopped at every one of them to check them out)
The pace of TCI is slow and North Caicos is even slower...which means Middle Caicos is incredibly slooooooooow. Even the stray dogs were lazy and easy going. Just wandering around and being nice but not nosey or annoying.
So the take away is, if you need something, don't be in a hurry or get upset that it is not there right away.
The towels were not ready when we arrived and so we air dried after the beach trip when we arrived. There was only one roll of toilet paper for the entire place...but towels and TP were there later that night.
The property manager didn't make it by in the three days we were there to get the WiFi working. Just a different pace that needs to be expected.
Not the end of the world for us...especially since we felt like we were close to the end of the world and somewhat checking off the grid! LOL
No stores or gas stations or evening places to visit nearby...so stock up and enjoy being "out there".
The owners were very responsive and very helpful and worked to get things fixed up. Very appreciative of their support and efforts.
This house is located in a dream location! Just for that itâs worth every cent. Finding the house was easy. The pool was really nice to have. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The house is very clean, the water is filtered and soft. Thereâs a pair Nikon binocular that is fabulous to watch birds with and in season, I hear to watch whales, unfortunately we were not there in season. The beds are comfortable the sheets & bedding clean & soft.
A few Cons: the showers! Only One was usable. The other indoor one sort of drips some water not enough for an actual shower, and the one thatâs outside is fun during the day but not for a night shower since thereâs no lights and too many mosquitoes! The house manager is available and helpful so a few other issues were resolved once contacting him. Wifi worked excellent. The lights are quite dim and scarce in the house so reading a book at night is problematic if you donât want to sit at the kitchen table. The lock on the front door was too rusty to use and we were afraid we wouldnât be able to unlock it once we got back so just hid our passports and any other valuables and didnât use the key (there is a safe but itâs a box in a closet so if anyone did come in they could just take it with them). There are barely any people in the area so itâs absolutely safe as far as we can tell so this wasnât much of a worry for us.
The owner is not very communicative so before arriving figure out what you need on this island from other sources.
All in all, this was a fabulous place to spend 5 days.
We are based in central Pennsylvania in the USA. We own a beachfront house on Sapodilla Bay on Providenciales and after a day trip to North/Middle Caicos fell in love with the remoteness of this island!
We visited Mudjin Harbor/Dragon Cay many times and we knew we wanted to buy a house in this area. So different than Providenciales and truly off the beaten path. Our timing was perfect with buying this house and renovating it to let others enjoy this slice of paradise!
No crowds, explore all the beautiful beaches this island has to offer, whales swimming by during high season, easy walk to the beach, laid back vibes and truly feeling what island time is meant to be!
