I have nothing bad to say at all. My only wish is that they had a TV in the living room for nighttime entertainment. Everything else was great and this house is perfect for those seeking 3 bedrooms that could easily sleep 6-8 people comfortably.
Very nice place to stay for peace and wonderful view. Directions to open the lock to the house need to be clarified in the write up and no light on outside of door makes it hard to see at night. Thank you for the stay!
This property is a very nice little cottage on a lake. The property is well represented on the site. My group (4 adults) enjoyed our stay. Only recommendations we would make would be to add some curtains in the bedrooms but other than that, it was a great spot for a weekend getaway with some friends.
Our extended family stayed the first week of October to celebrate our mom. The location on the lake was perfect with the leaves starting to change including on the island directly across the water. The large outside patio was especially convenient for we could prepare all of the meals near the table.
Was a very nice set up in and outdoor. House was well equipped with everything we needed. Great cooking area outside facing the water. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice cabin feel on the water. As hockey fans, the only thing we were missing was a TV to watch playoff hockey. Great accommodations.
We were in for a alum reunion and the space was perfect for us! The view and outdoor space offered up some great group hang-time. Appreciated the little touches for toiletry supplies. Thank you for the very perfect stay!
My friends and I had a lovely stay! The lake views were astonishing, better than the pictures. Everything was clean and well appointed. Communication with the owner was perfect. Regarding previous comments, I had no trouble with the coffee machine and yes, the mattresses are firm, which I prefer. If you do not like a firm mattress, I suggest bringing a mattress topper. We did not miss having a TV at all and it was refreshing to spend time talking with your company as opposed to being glued to the TV set. I highly recommend this house!
We stayed for a long weekend in the spring. The property was clean and beautiful views. We wished the weather had been warmer to enjoy the lakefront more. Only complaint, and it ended up being kind of a big one for us, was that the beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable. So much so it was difficult to sleep and my back was sore the next day (Iâm 35 and donât have back pain otherwise).
Beautiful view of the lake. Watched rowing teams. Good overall location for us as we were in town to look for housing for our daughter for UConn.
Beds were unfortunately uncomfortable. Other food in the fridge. No TV (partially my fault for not checking on this). As noted by other reviewers, there was only a sofa and 2 chairs in the living area and nowhere to eat except a small bar in the kitchen that sat 2 people on worn out stools. Lastly, only enough hot water for 1 short shower at a time for our group of 5.
If the spot is going to be an effective Vrbo spot, it could use some changes.
We appreciated the ownerâs communication and instructions and kindness.
My group of friends were in need of a quick winter getaway. we booked this house for the Martin Luther King weekend. Overall it was clean with a great view. It worked out OK for our group because we MADE it work out OK for ourselves, but it DOESNâT Accommodate for a large group. 6 people would fit here better at most. Thankfully a few of our group arrived right at check in on Friday and called me and let me know that there was only seating for 4 to 5 people comfortably in the living room. And that there was no table and chairs for eating inside at all and that the house had no TV. I was able to scramble and load my car up with some extra chairs from home. but they were the kind that you sit in for kids soccer games and stuff so it wasnât the kind of exact comfort we were looking for on a long winter raining weekend indoors, but we are an easy group so we worked it out for ourselves. Also, one of our group brought her smart tv and a fire stick. So we could watch the football games. The ad claims it sleeps 12. please note: there is one queen bed. And one full bed. And 4 twin beds. There are 2 seats that recline in the couch in living room and also a recliner chair in living room but i would Not Count recliners as beds and in my opinion 2 people canât share a full bed. The full and queen mattresses are unusually hard. All The twin beds were comfortable. in the summer the outdoor area looks like it would be a very nice option for some extra seating and furnishings for groups to enjoy. The house needs blinds on the windows.
My friend brought a toaster and donated it because we read in a review there was no toaster. the coffee pot did not work. Which if you need morning coffee, Thatâs not good. It spewed grounds into the carafe each time we tried it, so we went to dunkin a few miles up the road each morning instead (but it was 1 degrees out sat and sun am, so it would have been nice to make coffee at the house). maybe the house will get more stocked as more people rent and leave things behind. Again, we made it great and itâs a very pretty house and it was clean. we hope this review helps groups in sizes of over 6/7 people know that it might be tight for them if they donât improvise and plan accordingly.
The house has a great set up for multiple children to all stay together in the upstairs bed room. There is a bathroom on both floors which really helps you spread out. Plus the view of the lake can't be beat.
We enjoyed the location. The interior was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well appointed. The only thing we missed was a toaster. We watched the ducks and geese on the lake and the grandkids went in the water (it's October!) We would love to visit again.
We all agreed that the mattresses were much too firm and window coverings would improve the rooms. There is no dining area so meals were tricky. There is no television which would have been appreciated. Just a few suggestions... the property is fabulous, clean and well equipped!
This is a very nicely renovated lake house with a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our stay and found the owner to be prompt in communicating. The mattresses are a little on the firm side, but overall it was a good choice for us. Thank you for hosting us!
We had a great time! The house was amazing and the view was to die for! We stayed here to visit family in Tolland. It was the perfect location. The house was very well taken care of, extremely welcoming, & felt like home. Our only concern for future renters is the specific location of the key lock box. Our instructions said next to the stairs. There are two sets so we spent some time searching in the dark with our cell phone flashlights until we finally found the lockbox by the lower stairs. Note to future renters/the owner maybe communicate this specific location. Overall though our stay was perfect and we will definitely come again!!!! Thank you!!!
We enjoyed staying here. The location was very nice and the lake and outdoor scenery were the nicest. The house was clean but I'd like to make some suggestions for the price and for being a rental place. There were a limited number of shades on the windows, the shades that were there were shear pieces of cloth. It felt like the outside could see everything inside. The bed mattresses were very hard. There were no rods to hang cloths in the upstairs bedrooms. In fact there were no closets. Expect very limited cell service. The house was very well equipped with kitchenware. Overall, I'd rate it ok, but would be very nice if these items were addressesed for renters. Thank you.
