We had a wonderful experience for our first time at the Viceroy. The hotel is absolutely amazing. We stayed at Ritz Zadun last year and this was shockingly better e.g. food, service, friendliness of the staff, access to ocean. The apartment was excellent. The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. The view from the apartment was amazing and among the best in the hotel we suspect. We had the run off all the hotel services despite being in a VRBO which was all seamless. The one unusual dynamic was the bedroom, living and kitchen are all one âgreat roomâ and the kids bedroom separated by a hall way sliding door. While it was unusual, it ended up being no big deal for us. In summary, this apartment was an incredible value and we would certainly stay in this specific apartment again.
Iâve never written a bad review before, but I felt compelled, given the many challenges with our stay. Here are the facts: During our 5-day stay, my husband and I spent at least 12 hours collectively either waiting for or working with hotel and maintenance staff to fix problems with the condo unit. Worst of all, the hotel staff often told us this unit was not their responsibility and that we could only interface with the owner to fix the issues.When we arrived, we discovered the unit had a leaking sink in one of the bathrooms and no hot water. Because the shower floors werenât level enough to push the water toward the drain, the water puddled in the bathroom and into the hall â which we needed to clean up. Maintenance came late at night to fix those issues, but we had to wait a bit to use the showers or the sink. On the second day â New Yearâs Eve â we had no lights and notified the owner. Because it's an owner's unit, we must be present for maintenance because they do not have the door code. Maintenance came but could not fix it â so we used our iPhone flashlights. On the third day, the maintenance staff showed us how to go into the breaker box to turn on/off any of the lights in the unit. We also learned we had a leaking outdoor tub. The maintenance people visited the unit several times during our stay to try to fix that issue.I would not recommend this place.
The apartment is beautifully designed, nicely appointed, and very clean.
The beach and the hotel pools are lovely, the staff throughout the hotel are very kind, and my kids loved the Kids Club.
Alberto was very responsive and courteous and fixed a couple of issues right away. We hope to go back soon!
we have stayed in both the hotel itself and this time rented the residence. we'll be back to the viceroy, but probably will go back to the hotel where we get nightly turn down service, fresh linens dailly, etc. the owner was very nice however. also strange was that they had a camera in the living room; we covered it up with a towel; not sure why that was the case.
Lovely place that should come with instruction or someone walking you thru to locate all essential items such as light switches and thermostat. No phone, television, Wi-Fi or amenities that used Wi-Fi. No assistance during the stay. The owner was responsive but could not fix our issues.
