A fantastic location right by the sea, very quiet, great surroundings and great conversation with the owner if you have any questions or other concerns. Absolutely recommendable...
A great place to stay, right next to the beach and not too far to the city .
Plenty of space and well equipped
Good itches with all that was needed and loved the log burner in the evening
Lovely, comfortable place to stay and awesome location. The beach is wonderful, no matter the weather. A couple of small things are there was no gas in the BBQ gas bottle and we couldnt find the webber q. One of the fam did comment on the hole in the front guttering.
Great location and views - a short walk down to the beach, a big section and great wood fire, gas hot water, bedding for 8, close to good fish and chips at the Motor Camp and ideal for our family from Australia, Christchurch and Auckland to stay together to attend a family reunion close to Kai Iwi over the weekend
Lovely spot, with beautiful sunset view from the deck, both double bedrooms and the lounge.
Excellent beach walk just down the hill.
House well set up and comfy.
excellent few days.
After loving our family stay here a few years ago, I wanted to return for a winter retreat with friends. We had a great time with the fire going, and stunning views as we relaxed and read our books. It was perfect. A lovely clean, welcoming and relaxing space. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks Helen for being an amazing host!
This comfortable family style cottage sits across the street from a huge cliff leading down to the sea. It's a really interesting geology and makes for gorgeous sunsets. The house is well equipped and large enough for a family. Helen was a really friendly host, picking us up on the beach and taking us to visit her friends who were fishing on the shore. We'd happily stay again!
Great location, beautiful views & spacious! Great communication & support, especially after workmen in nearby area cut off the water by surprise! Helen & family were very helpful & supportive with this. We all still had a great time!
Beautiful view over Kai iwi beach. Big house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Was a fantastic experience for our family to stay whilst reconnecting with whanganui. Has everything you need and great communication from owner. Just remember Kai iwi doesnât really have any shops (other than small fish and chips etc) but is only a 15min drive away yet it feels a million miles away from Whanganui as it is so beautiful and quiet.
Outstanding ocean views from lounge, two bedrooms as well as the ensuite bathroom
Loved the stunning bouquet of fresh flowers on the kitchen table on arrival. Moved them into the lounge and enjoyed them for our 4 days/3 nights. Loved the privacy the property provides, being able to watch the sunset from the double bed, to see the sea as I cleaned my teeth. Nice to have the morning sun in the kitchen. Appreciated arriving to ice cubes in the freezer ready to make Mojito's. Like the deck to chillax on in the morning and watch the waves.Like the later 11am check out too. Enjoyed browsing in the new Kai Cookbook. Keen to rebook again in the future. Grateful for you sharing your family batch with us.Muchas GraciasVicky
Enjoyed our stay. The beach house is a really nice and spacious, warm home with large rooms and a great view of the sea. We had a really busy weekend so we didnât get a chance to spend much time there but when we did it was lovely. Helen is amazing and provided us with all the information we needed to know ahead of our stay. My daughter left some of her clothes behind and Helen offered to post them back to us.
This was the second time weâve stayed at Helenâs place as itâs just so fantastic. The place has a fantastic location, amazing views, all day sun and all the amenities you need. The kids love it and it ticks all the boxes for us adults too. Helen is a fantastic host! Two mins walk to the beach and the park and a huge front lawn for the kids to play on. Thank you for another wonderful stay!
