Everything about our stay was excellent. The apartment was very clean and the perfect location right in the middle of king st. Would definitely stay again.
This was our first time to Charleston and this beautiful place was in the perfect location. Walking distance to amazing restaurants and shopping. The place itself was super cozy and the private courtyard made you feel like you had your own private secluded quiet space. Host was very nice and accommodating. We will be back soon!
This cute apartment was located in a busy area but was so quiet. The bed was comfortable, the little kitchen was well equipped, and the AC worked great. Communication with the owner was easy.
The location was perfect for our interests, the property was very well appointed, and the owner was attentive. If you rent this property, please take care of it.
Wonderful 1 BR condo just off King St. In the middle of all the shops, restaurants etc. Very clean, beautifully decorated, quiet at night, just perfect. We'll rent here again for sure.
What a perfect spot for my husband & I to enjoy time in Charleston while we did our annual retreat! Ashley has a beautiful space, tucked just off King Street, in the heart of downtown! It was quiet, elegantly appointed and spotless! Plus we were in the midst of all the hot spots for shopping and dining! We are already planning our return!
My husband planned my birthday trip and booked this location- it was perfect! We were in the heart of King street within walking distance of food, drinks
& boutiques. The only place we needed to take an Uber to was on the intercoastal and it was less than 10 minutes away. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Especially with the extreme summer heat, the AC worked perfectly. Highly recommend for a couples getaway; we plan on reserving this location every time we visit. The owners were very responsive to any and all of our questions. Had it not been so hot we would have been able to utilize the outdoor courtyard, which is very shaded! We had a great experience.
The apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, and conveniently located. Unfortunately, on day two of our three-day stay the shower stopped working. We notified the owner immediately and he came promptly to assess the problem but was unable to fix it. Instead of calling an emergency plumber to repair the shower he said he would get someone there the following day because âthese things happen.â So we had to bathe using only the bathroom sink instead of a shower (there was no bathtub) that evening and the next morning. We left for the day and in the afternoon the owner contacted us to say that he had arranged a hotel room for us as the shower was unable to be fixed that day. We returned to the apartment, packed up and moved to the hotel room. We sent a text to the owners requesting the following: 1) refund of our payment for the night with no working shower, and 2) a refund of the difference between what we paid for their apartment (with a kitchen, living room, outside patio and washer/dryer) and what they paid for a hotel room only. Their response was again that these things happen and they paid for our hotel so it was all âeven.â While we understand that these things do indeed happen, a hotel room is not the same as an apartment and has a much different financial value. The owner was completely dismissive of the inconvenience to us on our vacation, and of our requests for any reimbursement. We have used VRBO many times in the past, but this experience has changed our perception of the protections offered to travelers who use VRBO. Clearly had we known in advance that the plumbing was broken we would not have rented the apartment and would have booked other accommodations instead. The fact that the plumbing stopped working during our stay should not be an excuse for the owner to avoid assuming financial responsibility for this situation and shift it to the renter instead.
We booked for a whole week. Itâs a nice cozy place in a bustling part of King Street. Parking is $18/day and a block & a half away-bummer with rolling luggage. Confusing instructions to get to a set of 3 keys to get through multiple gates. Inside was mostly fine but we didnât use the unkept courtyard as we had hoped to. Walkable to little shops, liquor stores, restaurants. Itâs a younger area of Charleston - we are late 50âs. Lots of college students. Nice place for a weekend stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much. You cannot beat the location. It is within walking distance to anything in downtown Charleston. The outdoor courtyard was a nice place to enjoy some outdoor privacy in a hopping downtown location.
Great location on King St. Near beautiful College of Charleston campus. Apartment is impeccable and as nice as the photos depict. Completely quiet. Parking is conveniently nearby.
Only downsides, parking costs $18/day but with going in and out of the lot will average closer to $25 and the courtyard could use a little sprucing up. Otherwise a great value. We'd be happy to stay at this apartment any time we come to Charleston!
We would give this property 5+ stars if we could. The owner was so very accommodating and easy to contact. The accommodations were just as pictured and had everything we needed. The location. Was perfect and within walking distance of all the restaurants and sites we wanted to visit. We would highly recommend this property!!
Fabulous little apartment in a great location in downtown Charleston. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, perfect for two people, Great shower, comfortable bed, very private and cozy. Ashley is a super host and has thought of everything to make 344 and a half King St. a wonderful rental. Would definitely stay there again.
This place has a King St address but is set in the back so that I didn't even know it while nestled inside. The decor is tasteful and the apartment had everything I needed. Perfect size for a couple or traveling solo - as I was.
My husband and I loved this property. The location was great. Entrance was on King street but behind a quiet business. You passed through 2 locked iron lattice gates to get to the property entrance. Walking distance to everything; we didnât rent a car or even take an Uber except to and from the airport. Starting point for the historical tours is a short walk away.
Ashley texted us just to make sure we arrived and everything was ok.
The property was updated but still had a lot of character. The courtyard out back was nice. I only sat out there the first day because it was cooler the 2nd two days we were there and itâs shaded. In warmer weather it would be perfect. The property was stocked with everything we needed soap, shampoo/conditioner, dish soap, laundry detergent (I have stayed at a VRBO property that didnât even have hand soap so I appreciated this).
Overall we loved the property and location and would stay there again.
We think the most wonderful thing about the apartment is the location. It is conveniently located for shopping, antiques and lots of fabulous restaurants. Walk everywhere.... Forget you own a car!!!
