We were part a large weeklong family reunion with family members staying at several different locations throughout Islamorada. This home served as the central meeting spot for all the major events of the week. It's old Florida charm, waterfront west-facing location and gracious staff created lifelong memories for our group who ranged in ages from 3 - 73. Thanks especially to Danielle (great smile and a big heart) and John (welcoming island cadence and thorough instructions) at the Reception Desk. Hat tip also to the grounds and housekeeping staff who were courteous and efficient. We look forward to returning to this lovely resort in the future. Thanks for the memories!!
The ads on VRBO were not specific that the house was part of a resort. This wasnât a problem but I thought we were getting an individual home. The property inside and out is a bit rough. We had rain one night and the water came in the room and soaked the floor. Paint is bad interior and exterior. Beds and bathrooms were basic. The outside views make up for the short comings of the interiors. We were five guys fishing all day. The living room space was perfect for watching TV at night. We looked at equivalent rooms elsewhere. The selling point is the views. Beautiful views of the gulf and great sunset.
Enjoyed our stay, family friendly. Very relaxing with plenty of free rentals to keep busy, or a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
The location of the property was perfect. We saw lots of fish, nurse sharks, crabs and more off the pier in front of the home. The disappointment was in the property itself. The photos of the house are NOT current. The patio furniture is junky and sparse. There are MANY things left to be desired about this place.
There are no dressers in any bedroom. Absolutely nothing to get your belongs up off the floor. The whe place, while adequate, was not up to par for a rental charging the rates this place charges per night. The full kitchen is offered, without even a mixing bowl, measuring cups, spoons or baking dishes. The garbage disposal smelled rediculously foul. The tile floors were disgusting and needed mopping. There are no rugs to be found in the place to get sand off of your feet to control sand from shoes. Many of the blinds broken, dont open and close and segments missing-leaving gaping areas where no privacy was offered. The place has ZERO hooks or side tables to set anything out or up off the floor. The couches and furniture were old, lumpy visably soiled. The A/C worked irregularly leavong it either freezing or hot & humid. I think the place is far overpriced and would not stay there again.
The house is spacious with comfortable common space furniture and beds. Dining area and living room have a full view of the bay. Outdoor space is phenomenal. We took advantage of the kayaks, propane fire pit and the grill. Plenty of aquarium life spotted off of the man made pier and beautiful lounge tiki space to enjoy the views. Friendly, responsive staff. Only request is to upgrade bikes and paddle boards. We have come to Islamorada for quite a few years and this is by far our favorite rental. We will be back!! Until next yearâŠ.. stay healthy and happy! Peaceâđ»âźïž
Pleasantly surprised to be entertained by live musician first night.
Home was clean and well stocked.
Propane fire pit was nice touch in the evening.
Only downfall was lack of paddle boards - had only one on property (missing fin). Did have 4 kayaks.
Incredible location and house. Views are amazing and loads of options within walking distance for food, drink, souvenirs. Having the resort amenities are an added bonus. We will absolutely be back!
We were very pleased with the house and property. The only concerns were that the pool was not heated and the property goes right up to a dock and drop off into the water. With our young grandchildren present we had to be on guard with them outside at all times. The deck and fire pit were nice and the live music was an added bonus.
Been coming to La Jolla for 8 years and this was the first year at the cottage. The space was great and we had a live performer one night with great island music. We'll be coming back for many more years.
We loved the location and the property was excellent for our needs. 4 adults and 4 kids under 12. We had plenty of space to work with and there was nice room outside for the kids to play.
We would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful place to stay, house needs some upgrades special the bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable , staff very friendly and helpful ! Location of the resort itâs perfect the best spot for the most beautiful sunset! We enjoyed the staying and will special recommend to who is looking for a small quiet peaceful place to just chill , fishing and enjoying ocean view !!! Will definitely come back there in future if we ever go to visit Florida Keys
Property was great. Location right on the highway made coming and going a bit of a bear, but lots of places to eat within walking distance. Staff were all very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
We were in town for a wedding and needed a house where we were all together and this was perfect! The views, the sunsets the peace and quiet what more could we ask for.
Staff was helpful. Spot was beautiful. Perfect for 2 or 3 couples or 2 families. Bathrooms and kitchen need updating. Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own (tiny) bathroom with a shower. Would be great to have an enclosed outdoor shower. Pool is small but adequate. Outdoor furniture isnât very comfortable but the views are terrific! Very relaxing and close to many good places to eat outdoors during the pandemic.
First the positives: Location - on the water and walkable to tons!! Ans the beds are new and wonderful!!
The cons: the house is in great need of updates. The bathrooms are old and cringey - circa 1950s with no updates. There is very little furniture in the house. The kitchen lacks some basic rental items like large bowls and salt.
Overall, even with the excellent location, the house is too expensive for what you get. Itâs a shame really, cause it could be super cute.
Property was located in an ideal spot of Islamorada. We could walk/drive short distances to many restaurants. The house was in a "shared" area - so you won't have privacy. I will state that the staff were/are wonderful and very helpful. Also very close to water - we saw dogfish, barracuda, parrot fish and an eagle ray. Bring a rod and try to catch a mangrove snapper catch/release only.
Can't beat the location! Everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. Check-in and Check-out w
Can't beat the location! Everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. Bathrooms are a bit small but did not bother us. Only down side is the patio furniture was not comfortable so could not enjoy the fire and outdoors for long. We will be back!
