Ferme historique de Devcich - Homestead

Il y a 100 ans, dans une partie reculée de la vallée de Kauaeranga, Simun Devcich a créé une ferme. Il faisait du commerce avec les chercheurs de gomme qui vivaient dans des camps de brousse dans la haute vallée. Les bùtiments et les biens mobiliers d'origine sont toujours conservés. Le Farmstead est reconnu comme un site historique précieux de la Nouvelle-Zélande, Cat. 1 pour sa valeur historique et culturelle importante.
LaNous vous invitons Ă  sĂ©journer au Devcich Farmstead, Ă  dĂ©couvrir la magie, Ă  vous dĂ©tendre et Ă  profiter du paysage Ă  couper le souffle de la riviĂšre, de la brousse et des montagnes. La propriĂ©tĂ© est trĂšs confortable, avec une cuisiniĂšre Ă  charbon dans la salle Ă  manger et une cheminĂ©e dans le salon. Cuisine entiĂšrement fonctionnelle plus un barbecue. RĂ©ception mobile pour Spark et Vodafone. La riviĂšre est sur la frontiĂšre bonne pĂȘche Ă  la truite et un grand trou de baignade Ă  proximitĂ©. Un grand nombre d'animaux exotiques et les invitĂ©s sont libres de se promener dans les bĂątiments, mais de prĂ©fĂ©rence pas dans les paddocks oĂč les animaux sont sauf s'ils sont accompagnĂ©s par l'hĂŽte. RĂšgle de ferme concernant les portes, si elle est fermĂ©e, fermez-la. La brousse DOC marche jusqu'aux Pinacles plus haut dans la vallĂ©e. Visite historique des anciens bĂątiments disponible sur demande. L'accĂšs Ă  la propriĂ©tĂ© se fait par une traversĂ©e de la riviĂšre Ford, en cas de fortes pluies il n'y aura pas d'accĂšs pour les vĂ©hicules. À ces occasions, il y a un accĂšs au pont tournant de l'autre cĂŽtĂ© de la riviĂšre et vous serez accueilli par un tracteur pour vous transporter, vous et vos sacs, jusqu'Ă  la maison.
L'hÎte sera autour de travailler sur la ferme, donc disponible si nécessaire.
Nous offrons également plusieurs activités qui sont disponibles pour les clients.

Country retreat

We very much enjoyed the homestead. The house and buildings have a fascinating history and the various farm animals and fowl were delightful. It was a peaceful stay.

Kauaeranga Valley Gem on Coromandel Peninsula

Impressive! A charming house with a lot of memorabilia of the homestead history. The property has a variety of birds and live stock that are accessible for viewing. The property manager was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the property and its history. She encouraged our family members to assist in farm activities. Pure joy!!!

The perfect place

We (5 of us) had the perfect time staying here. We stayed two night, hiked the Pinnacles and wanted a place we could chill at afterwards. The farm is beautiful and the weather was in incredible. Everything in the house was immaculate. We will be back!

Just fabulous!

We had magical two nights at the farm. It was just what we all needed, getting away from the city. Kids and adults loved seeing all the different animals and it was such a wonderful experience for the kids getting to feed them. The house was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. . I would highly recommend to anyone a stay at this fantastic farm!

Great stay!

Lorenza was very helpful. We stayed shortly after the cyclone so many things were closed. Highways were out but we enjoyed the farm and the animals. We would certainly stay again.

Beautiful farmstay

We were a a group of three couples and stayed for two night, climbing the Pinnacles. We were delighted to see the highland cows on our evening stroll upon arrival. The farmstead was cosy and historic but clean and comfy. We were entertained in the morning, while sitting on the covered porch having coffee, by a beautiful display from Mr Peacock. After our hike, we made a lovely roast dinner in the kitchen. There is no dishwasher and only one bathroom, but that all added to the charm of farmhouse and an appreciation for its history.

Peaceful

Our stay was pure bliss. I was looking for a place to just get away and unwind with my family and this property was just it. We spent the whole afternoon fishing and my family was enjoying everything about the farm. Perfect place to get away from everything and just relax.

Lovely relaxing weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at the Devcich Homestead. It was peaceful but with plenty to do and the kids loved helping Lorenza tend to the birds and sheep. We will definitely be back.

A great family summer holiday location and relaxing break.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was comfortable and clean. It was a relaxing place to stay and get away from the bustle. The history of the farm and the old sawmill is fascinating and we enjoyed looking at the old photos. We all enjoyed meeting the beautiful birds and animals and loved the swim hole. There is lots to do nearby we spent a day walking up to the pinnacles and another exploring the other walks and visitor centre. Highly recommend and would love to return. Thanks Lorenza

Wonderful famstay

Lorenza is a very friendly host. Property is a historic homestead, yet with the modern amenities you need. The location is just the sweet spot - remote feeling, yet you can be in Thames in fifteen minutes. Good location to access all the hikes in the valley, or for a week with children to enjoy all the animals and fowl on the farm.

Glorious Countryside Stay!

Kids and adults alike had so much fun at this thoughtfully refurbished 1920s property. There are so many beautiful bush and river walks nearby we didn't run out of things to do! We loved seeing the birds and animals on Lorenza's block and enjoyed hearing the river burbling nearby. We also had fun at the Saturday market in Thames and went for a day trip to Coromandel and the Waterworks which was so much fun! If we had stayed longer we would have done a day trip over to Whitianga as well. Maybe next time!

An amazing property rin by an amazing, interesting, super helpful lady, Lorenza.

This is a jewel of a location, it is so worth booking for your family getaway. The river is fantastic and such a safe area for swimming in. The house is gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful. Would totally recommend.

Amazing location

Our family of five had a great time at the farm for a week during summer holidays. The animals on the farm were loved by our kids. There is a good swimming hole accessible on the farm and some more good swimming spots just up the road in the Doc managed park. Lots of good walks for the family and more adventurous minded too. Thoroughly recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice quiet location to explore the valley and wider Coromandal from.

Weekend Away

A short trip to Thames to tackle some of the amazing trails in the forest. Had a super time, beautiful old farm house and property, with its friendly animals. . Would love to come back another time.

Another excellent stay

My second visit to this property, this time with family. Highly recommended, lots of space for the kids to play, lots of interesting animals, excellent private swimming hole (less than 10 min walk) for the summer months. Looking forward already to our next visit.

Wow, wow, wow. Awesome place and fantastic host.

Lorenza made the whole process from booking to checking in super easy. Absolutely gorgeous home with so many personal touches. Everything was there even fresh flowers. Super clean and tidy. The property has so much history and Lorenza showed us around the property and I instantly fell in love. So many animals to cuddle. There's friendly peacocks and Llamas. Emu and Highland cows plus so many more. Take a small walk down the track to a private swimming hole and some rock hounding. We definitely will be back..... was a pleasure. Well worth the short trip from town. Loved it.
