Port Fairy stay for Jazz Festival
Property was comfortable and roomy. It was a little too far away from the Jazz venues to walk backwards and forwards to comfortably which was our hope. Admittedly we are in the older age group but so are most of the Festival goers.
Great Location in Port Fairy
Great proximity to the main eating and shopping areas in Port Fairy. Comfortable and secure, we enjoyed our stay.
Hi Garry. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and so glad you enjoyed your time. Look forward to seeing you again in Port Fairy
Loved this property in Port Fairy
Stayed in this property for a week. The weather was beautiful and rained the day we left. Loved the quaintness of the house and my two dogs enjoyed themselves too in the large backyard. Very comfortable facilities - nothing else required- it was all there. The location was excellent- walking distance to main street. Will definitely stay here again - it was a very pleasant holiday, just what I needed.
Thanks for the great feedback Roz! It is such a fantastic thing to be able to bring the 4 legged loved ones on holidays with us!
Glad you enjoyed your time in Port Fairy & Shepherd's Rest!
Perfect for everyone
The cottage has a generous and very secure backyard. I did not have any worries when I had to leave my 2 dogs at the house. The interior is old but beautifully kept and the galley kitchen, looking out over the backyard was ideal.
My friend and I reported a couple of small 'fix it' jobs and having had only fantastic interaction with the agent, I'm sure these will be addressed fairly quickly.
The location was a 5 minute walk to a lovely reserve, which we were told, by one of the locals, is leash free - bonus!! My dogs had great walks every day - through and around the reserve, the rail trail, eastern beach, the dog area next to pea soup beach - they had a terrific time too.
We came to Port Fairy to perform in the Jazz Festival.
The main shopping strip and all the venues were only a few minutes walk away but we were far enough away to have an undisturbed and quiet stay.
Hi Brigid. Thanks for staying and your great review, it was a pleasure to have you!
Clean, but overall tired and shabby
Adequate for a few days break, but wouldn’t recommend if you want a house for a pleasant holiday. The good points - It is very clean, the kitchen is well equipped, plenty of towels provided. our dog enjoyed the well fenced garden. But overall it is very shabby and not welcoming - bedrooms were very hot, but no fly screens so we only opened the window once and regretted it because of flies and mosquitos, the house is dark and gloomy, we couldn’t draw the blind in the sitting room so had to put the light on even in the day, the carpet is threadbare and with holes in places, the lounge chairs are shabby and uncomfortable. The house is comparatively cheap, so I suppose you get what you pay for. We love Port Fairy, but next time will book elsewhere.
Hi Philippa. Thanks for taking the time to review Shepherd's Rest. We do pride ourselves on making sure each property is presented in a clean and tidy manner so we appreciate you noting this. It is well facilitated and does have a great backyard for pets as well as being close to town and everything Port Fairy has to offer. It is a budget friendly property in a town which can be pricey especially when travelling with pets. I will pass on your comments on the fly screens to the owner and I will get the blind seen to which we would have been happy to do if you had mentioned it during your stay. We're here to help. Look forward to seeing you in the future.
