Ce très grand appartement 1 chambre entièrement rénové se trouve face à l'Est, en profitant de tous les Tradewinds de l'Est pour vous garder le plus frais dans les montagnes de St. Croix. Le mur de grandes fenêtres orientées à l'est vous offre une vue imprenable sur Buck Island, St. Le monument national et le parc national de récif les plus célèbres de Croix. Plus de 180 degrés de vues sur cette propriété avec vue sur l'océan sur les rives nord et sud!

De nouveaux comptoirs, éviers, robinets et accessoires en granit ont été installés partout. Tous les interrupteurs et prises électriques ont également été refaits récemment. Avec toute la nouvelle peinture, c'est sûrement l'endroit le plus propre et le plus frais à jour que vous trouverez.

L'appartement peut accueillir 4 personnes au total, dont deux dans la chambre principale king-size et 2 sur le canapé-lit pleine grandeur (nouveau à partir de 2018).

Un joli bureau de poste de travail est inclus pour vous permettre de travailler avec l'internet haut débit inclus sur place. Nous incluons également le petit déjeuner, des collations et une bouteille de rhum Cruzan pour vous détendre et profiter de la vue.

Situé dans le meilleur quartier que nous ayons trouvé en vivant ici, vous êtes au centre de tout si vous prévoyez de traverser toute l'île. Vous êtes à moins de 10 minutes de Christiansted, à 15 minutes de Fredericksted, à 5 minutes de Salt River et à seulement 10 minutes de Cane Bay Beach, où vivent les meilleures plongées en apnée et plongée sous-marine de l'île.

Quiet place with an amazing view

We stayed there for 3 nights with our older son. The apartment is facing the ocean with a great view over the Christiansted area, up on the hill, and is very quiet. You will need a 4WD for the last 150 yards to the house, but you will benefit from it anyway give the road system on the island;-) We mostly enjoyed Cane Bay with diving The Wall - the 2nd best shore diving area in the world.

Dirt road to apartment is overgrown during heavy rain will need jeep to navigate dirt road.

Comfortable Apartment with beautiful view

This apartment is very comfortable with a spectacular view. It is roomy. Shaleece and Will, the owners, are very friendly and responsive to our needs. There was construction but it did not bother us because we were fully aware prior to our arrival.. The breeze keeps the place cool. The kitchen is delightful to cook in. As Will states there is a dirt road about 100 yards but is not difficult to navigate. The apartment Is centrally located to access many parts of the island. Which makes it a nice location .

Perfect retreat

A perfect property to stay out of the way with a great view. The breeze kept the apartment comfortable the whole week, without needing fans or AC. It seems like miles away from everything, but it was only a 10 to 20 minute ride to anywhere we wanted to go. Cane bay beach was a perfect, close getaway. The directions provided by the host were spot on. We found that putting “Concordia Ridge Neighborhood”(Christensted) into Google maps got us back home easily. King size bed was comfortable as was the couch (didn’t try the sofa bed). Basic condiments in the fridge helped with the cost of groceries. I would highly recommend this to anyone comping to St Croix for a visit! Thanks for the great experience!!

It's called the view for a reason.

Renting the property was extremely transparent. Everything was as advertised. The host and family were very responsive and accommodating. The adventure started with navigating to the property. Being first time visitors, it was a adjustment. The drive up to the property was amazing and set the stage for what was to come. Once there The View was everything and more. The apartment was extremely comfortable. The host provided everything to make you feel at home. The air conditioning worked wonderfully and was a welcomed relief after being out in the sun all day. The view was more than expected. The sun wakes you up in the morning

Improvements

You should not advertise this property for mor than two since the plus two accommodations were in poor shape. Replace the sleeper couch immediately as it was extremely dirty and worn out. Remove or replace the chandelier in the living room so guests don't bump their heads and the tv cabinet can be opened. Provide a map(even hand drawn via pdf) to guests and travel instructions prior to the day of arrival. Also, provide check in instructions prior to the day of arrival. Communication needs to improve.

Hello Paul, I'm sorry your experience wasn't as stellar to that of our other guests. We try our best when it comes to taking in feedback to improve guest experiences in the future. Based on your feedback we're having the couch professionally steam cleaned. We noticed that the furniture had been moved around from it's normal configuration possibly from the prior guest, which may explain why the chandelier seemed in an ackward position or the TV cabinet didn't open. We will re-adjust the furniture setup accordingly to make sure it is as it's supposed to be. Regarding communication, we've sent several messages leading up to the trip including during confirmation, and directions including a GPS Pin Drop Map, as well as step by step written directions, and contact information for voice/text for anyone who is getting to the property. Guests typically have no issues arriving with all of that information being provided. Please feel free to call or text us if you have issues next time and wish to communicate any questions you may have. We are always available. Thank you for staying with us.

Incredible misrepresentation

First,...we didn't even stay at the property. We got no specific instructions for entry into the property and no answers to our calls. When we arrived we discovered what could only be described as a construction zone. I had no idea what part of the home was "ours" and had to discover the flat by trying to open several doors. The home was obviously in a state of major construction with lumber and supplies/trash piled up all around (see photos). Lastly, once we did gain access, we discovered the rental had no AC. I understand why that might be renters due diligence, but honestly if you're renting to people that are quite used to that (who isn't on vacation in a tropical climate?!) Then disclosure of no AC should be made in my opinion! If VRBO wants to do the right thing, they would credit us half our rate. We ended up paying for a hotel on the fly. This is my first bad experience with flat rental...and I won't soon forget it.

Our first negative review. Eventually, we knew it would happen but have strived for a very long time to keep a positive record with all our guests. Please read our other reviews here and on other listing sites, as this unit has had stellar reviews for years now. First, let me start by apologizing to the buyer. Communications on the island are not always working or in service. Sometimes texts are slow to arrive. We were not at the property upon their arrival but did leave the door unlocked, and had provided arrival instructions and directions (which is how the person arrived at the property.) The inside of the unit is not under construction what-so-ever, and is in the condition described in the listing. AC is not listed in the listing and was never promised to the customer. A negative review based on AC should not even be allowed in my opinion given the property does not list AC. We are building a pool outside the property for the future enjoyment of guests, as well as covered patio areas. While construction moves slow in the islands, the construction did not affect the guest's ability to stay at the unit, nor does it affect the inside of the unit at all. This particular individual was visiting to begin planning their move to the island. Given their need for AC everywhere, the lack of patience, need for perfection, or understanding of island communications, I would highly recommend they reconsider moving to St. Croix. I don't believe long term they will do well here.

Under Construction

The home was nice, overlooking some of the island, you would need a 4x4 (recommend) a car would do ok, but home is off road of down hill, and uphill. The only reasons for my rating is the construction noise in the morning, being on vacation I wanted sleep lol. Other than that it was quite nice, and quiet at night. Once the construction is completed this will be a perfect spot.

Yes, the listing clearly states the property has some construction going on outside. Quiet hours are listed in the listing from 10pm to 7am. Construction starts M-F only around 8 or 8:30am and the workers work until 4pm. Hopefully this was not a surprise given it was in the listing. Thank you for staying with us.

Under construction, no privacy

Due to the fact that this property lacks privacy curtains while under construction, I did not feel comfortable anytime during my stay. As a female traveling alone, this was very upsetting, it was like staying in a glass house. The only place of privacy is in the bathroom and the bedroom. I woke up to strange men milling around the unit, on more than one occasion. Not to mention the scaffolding that was placed on my second day there completely marring the view that the property's main attraction. There is construction material all around the unit, ( scaffolding, piles of wood, construction trash bin, etc) There was even a beer can on the ground by a pile of wood near the entrance that no one bothered to pick up during, my entire 5-day stay. The host should not advertise this as a vacation rental while the property is in this condition. The directions the host gave me to the property started mid-way to the property, not from the airport, ferry, or Seaplane. Simpler directions could have been given to avoid to the guest upon arrival. I have lived on St Croix and got turned around using those directions. It is really only four turns to the property from the airport. The hill up to the property is steep and has tight curves, be careful. The road to the property is extremely rough. you cannot rent a car to get to this property, you will tear the undercarriage apart. I could even allow local friends to visit me due to the condition of this road. The host requires quiet time between 10 pm and 7 am. However the I did not get much quiet time to study with the small child running around all day above me. This was not a place to relax, it was like staying in a rented inner-city apartment, which is NOT what I came to St Croix for. When all the construction is completed I have no doubt this will be a wonderful place to stay, until then the host would do well to realize that guests need privacy curtains and quiet time for themselves too. Final note, there is NO A/C in this unit. The only ceiling fan is in the bedroom. There are two floor fans in the unit, If you need A/C this is not the property for. As a past resident of St Croix, I know how to use the winds to my advantage to cool off the unit. The winds are finicky and the unit doesn't always cool to the low 70's in the fall, and never in the summer. The host has no control over this, just FYI. More transparency in the listing of this property should have been given in the listing.

This was by far the worst guest experience we have had in years. The listing currently advertises the property as “under construction” and is disclosed to guests. Most guests, over the last year, have had no issues with this given the property advertises it as such. My first suggestion to the tenant would have been to rent a different unit if she planned to stay at the property the entire time and not venture out. Most guests don’t notice the construction outside the unit all day because they venture out around St. Croix. No construction happens after 4 and before 8. The roads are also described in the listing and we suggest getting a Jeep. The tenant did not listen to the suggestion and did not rent a Jeep. After an hour of not arriving when she first said she would, I called concerned and to see what her new checkin time would be. She immediately answered the phone angry and yelling at me because she was lost. Her words were “These may be directions for you, but I can’t understand them.” And she proceeded to tell out areas she thought she was without giving me any information in the first 5 minutes I could use to get her to the property. If she would have just calmed down, I could have easily defused the situation. The directions have been followed for over 2 years now by everyone without issues. This was a first. On top of that, she said she even lived here before but wasn’t familiar with the area… I’m not sure how those two go together on the small island of St. Croix but I digress. Shortly after she arrived she began cooking on the stove and the gas ran out on the back of the house. Anyone with propane tanks knows when this happens it can be unexpected sometimes. Only thing to do is order a new one or hook up a backup tank. I asked her to hold while I call the gas company. The gas company, as with many things out of your control on St. Croix said it would take a week to get gas to the house. I called her back with a plan to mitigate this, and started out my call by telling her what the gas company told me. Without skipping a beat she began cursing me out yelling about groceries. After the barrage, I proceeded to finish my sentence and tell her it would be fixed within 2 hours as we could hook up a backup tank. I offered that she could use the empty apartment on the other side of the property to finish cooking if she’d like until the gas was back on. There were many other issues with this lone guest but I’m out of characters to respond. Stay far away.

Will and Shaleece both love to scuba dive and hike and St. Croix is just the place for that! Ask, and they'll be happy to take you on a variety of guided dives, hikes, or tours around the island.

This property was purchased because of its amazing central location to everything on the island, beautiful scenic views (located on the scenic route, north shore), proximity to the best diving on the island, amazing constant breezes on top of the mountain, and the natural wooded preserve of Windsor's Forest below.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

This apartment is part of the Windchime Estates, named after a 39 foot trimaran that sailed the world twice! The masts of the ship can be found in the home's construction which was rebuilt after Hugo in the 1980s. The ship was lost on a day charter out on Round Reef infront of Christiansted which you can see from the house. Originally the plan was to rebuild the ship, but after Hugo, pieces were used to reconstruct the home's porch and back patio! Today you can hear the music of the gentle windchimes on the property, hung as a reminder of its rich history!
