Thanksgiving getaway

Beautiful house with beautiful views! Owner went above and beyond to accommodate us as we were driving down from Long Island and arriving on Thanksgiving morning. Would definitely stay there again. Many great memories made with family and friends

The trip was awesome but the ac did not work properly and the owner only left us 1 portable ac. Other than that the place, location and trip was awesome. Just wish the ac worked or the owners would have got us a few more portable ones or gave us some sort of discount for the inconvenience.

Relaxing by the River

We love this property's proximity to the river. It is very relaxing way of life. The community is quiet and friendly. The host is very attentive and communicates often. We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint we had was downstairs was not as clean as it usually is but none the less we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Vacation with a Large Family

This property was perfect. Owners were wonderful. Location was beautiful. It was everything we could have wanted! The porch with the rocking chairs was screened in all the way around (including underneath!), so even with our kids leaving the door open, there weren't bugs. The owners and neighbors taught our kids to fish for crabs in the crab pots and we had fresh crab for dinner our last night there. The teens took the basement room and loved their own space. They also enjoyed the kayaks. All the kids enjoyed watching fish, birds, and dolphins off the dock. Within driving distance of a lot of really cool things.

Fantastic Stay

Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place but at the same time being able to fish and kayak from the property really made it ideal for us. Lovely fenced in yard for the dogs made it easy to let the dogs out without having to walk them on leashes. Close to Oriental for restaurants but the house was well equipped for cooking and grilling when we wanted to stay in. Will definitely be back again!

Nice Get Away

First time staying and everything was as advertised. Perfect set up for fishing and kids. Two piers for fishing and crabbing and a nice floating dock a couple hundred yards off the Neuse river and out of the wind if it's blowing. Also it's a good place for the kids to play in shallow water. Planning on going back in September, so please leave a week open

Relaxing getaway

This property was amazing. Gorgeous views and friendly hosts and neighbors. We wanted to getaway for a few days and explore Oriental and Beaufort. We loved this property. The view from the porch was phenomenal. We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise and sat on the porch ever evening to watch the sunset. We enjoyed the property even more than the towns we visited. We had so much fun fishing!!!!

Thanksgiving Gathering!

It was perfect for us! Family lives in the area. I love this as our base house for us to come back to after visiting. We love riding into Oriental and getting coffee and bagels at The Bean. The view of the water is so calming and gorgeous. Can't wait to stay again, and hopefully it will be soon!

Sunrise on the Porch-beautiful

We enjoyed our stay and would return. The sunrise from the porch over the river was gorgeous . My wife enjoyed her time reading and just watching from the porch. I took my boat to fish. I enjoyed the fishing and appreciated the convenience of have aplace to dock the boat on the property. Thanks to Michelle for making the property available.

The perfect house:)

This was our family’s second fishing trip to Oriental & our second stay at Sunrise on the Porch. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, inside and out again! Our dog also loved playing in the nice fenced in yard and the fishing was fun! Michelle is a wonderful host and makes the whole booking/check in process very simple. Another great week!

We love staying at this property at Dawson Creek. Michelle and Dale go out of their way to ensure everything is clean and welcoming!! The house or cabin as it is called has everything you need. We cooked with family, rode ferry to Beaufort and Morehead City and just relaxed on screened in porch! Can't wait until next July to come again. They even make sure to have a beautiful fireworks show for the 4th!!!

Wonderful cabin for a family weekend getaway

The cabin was the perfect place to stay with our family for spending the weekend attending the NC Fossil Festival in nearby Aurora. We really enjoyed all of the outdoor seating options with beautiful views of the river. We even got to see a rainbow over the river! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We highly recommend this cabin!

So relaxing!

We came to see my sister and brother in law who moved here a few months ago. They live right across the bridge. We brought our two dogs, and we do not usually travel with them. The view of the water is gorgeous, especially at sunrise! We will definitely be back!
