La Blue Crab House du côté de la plage de Butler, à deux pas de l'océan!

À seulement 100 mètres de la plage et en plein centre de Tybee Island, le Blue Crab House est l'endroit idéal pour profiter de tout ce que cette ville balnéaire animée a à offrir. Avec un grand parking pour quatre voitures, une cour arrière clôturée, un bain à remous et une piscine d'eau salée chauffée (*** Voir les remarques sur le chauffage de la piscine et les frais supplémentaires), le tout privé et à votre disposition. Une fois que vous vous garez, vous pouvez vous promener n'importe où - alors rangez les clés de la voiture, vous avez tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour passer de superbes vacances à la plage!

Ceci est une maison unifamiliale ... ne laissez pas les deux portes vous jeter! C'est une solution de plage à l'ancienne pour rentrer à la maison en sable; accès direct à l'une des douches de la salle de bain de l'extérieur. Il y a aussi une douche extérieure à l'arrière. Mais ne vous y trompez pas, il s’agit d’une maison individuelle isolée qui sera entièrement privée pour vous si vous choisissez notre endroit.

** Du 25 mai au 17 août 2019, nous acceptons uniquement les réservations de samedi à samedi. **

À propos des voiturettes de golf: Nous n’avons aucun problème à en louer une si vous le pouvez, mais comme la maison se trouve du côté de la plage de Butler / Highway 80, vous ne pouvez pas toujours louer une voiturette de golf aux locataires locaux. En effet, il existe des règles spécifiques sur les endroits où vous pouvez traverser Butler en fonction du trafic et de la saison. Cependant, comme vous êtes proches de tout et particulièrement près de la plage, nous espérons que cela ne posera pas de problème.

This was the perfect location for our family of five. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub when we were unable to go to the beach due to rain.. Everything we needed was provided. From games to movies and even Apple Cider Vinegar for the sunburn. We will be booking many years to come.

A great place to stay for the beach and Savannah

He had a wonderful time staying at the Blue Crab. Loved the heated pool and the hot tub. We walked to the beach (about 2 minutes from the house) and went into Savannah a bunch of times (it's only a half hour drive). The trip was to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday, with her boyfriend and our good friends. We all had a great time!

Great location and very cute house

Me and friends stayed here for a girls weekend and absolutely loved the set up. There were lots of thoughtful details that made our stay more comfortable too. We all agreed we’d absolutely stay here again. 5 minute walk to the beach, beach wagon to carry chairs and umbrellas, and the pool was so nice

Great Beach House

Our family of 6 really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient to the beach and just a short walk from restaurants and shops. Jack's communication as a host was great throughout the week. I would highly recommend this house.

Perfect home

The home was perfect locations, steps from the ocean. The pool was ideal with just enough shade to make it the ideal spot during the heat of the day. The house had everything we needed and was clean. Beds were comfortable - can't wait to come back!

Great stay!

We loved the location. An easy walk down to the ocean, over to the store, or into town. On the beach, a stroll to the pier was easy - be sure to bring a bucket to collect shells. We loved the pool and hot tub at the house!!! All the amenities needed were provided!

Awesome property, awesome location. Jack is a superb host that was able to answer all of my questions in a timely manner. Had zero issues with the house. Very clean and neat. Backyard/pool area is great! Highly recommend staying at this property.

Perfect Location!

The little Blue Crab House is close enough to walk to the beach, and right across the road from IGA!! My family of six and an infant stayed here comfortably and really enjoyed our pool time!! You have everything you need when you stay here. Our first time to Tybee Island and staying at the Blue Crab House and as a memory we won’t forget! Thank you for the amazing communication from the host also;)

Girls Weekend

What a perfect location for our girls trip! House was a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to the pier and shops. Really great gathering spaces at the house - both an inside dining table and outside table by the pool -where we all could sit comfortably. We loved having a backyard with pool! It was the perfect size for relaxing in! Unfortunately the hot tub was not working when we were there - but it did not ruin our trip by any means. I would highly recommend this house and cant wait to go back!

Perfect house, centrally located on island, minutes from the beach

We thoroughly loved our stay at The Blue Crab House!! Fell in love with the decor!! Very clean, great location across the street from the grocery store which was super convenient and only minutes from the beach. Loved not having to cross the main street to go to the beach! Beds were super comfortable, including the bunk beds. You could tell that the mattresses and pillows were high quality! The only thing that was missing were kitchen towels (there was only 1 drying towel) for washing and drying dishes that we didn’t want to put in the dishwasher. Pool and hot tub were super clean. We would definitely stay again!!

Amazing stay and host!

Our stay was exactly as we expected. The house had a very large communal space we spent most of our time in. Additionally, we loved the large backyard and hot tub/pool! The single "complaint" I have is the size of the second bathroom in the hallway. It was very small (included an extra small shower) but 100% got the job done! Sharing for those reading who care about this sort of thing with a house this sized. Host was great and very communicative. We would definitely come back!!

A beautiful week in Tybee

Everything about the house was great! It was the perfect size for our group that included 4 adults and two young children who loved the bunk bed room. The outside area with pool, hot tub, fire pit and eating area was fantastic and is where we spent most of our time when we weren’t at the beach. The beach is a very short walk away and wasn’t overly crowded. There is also plenty of places to eat and get treats on the island that were within close proximity to the house. The IGA is also close by if you need food or supplies. We ventured into Savannah a few days which was also a short drive from the beach house. The owner (Jack) was very responsive to any questions we had. We had an awesome week on Tybee and I highly recommend the Crab House as a great place to call home for your visit.

Early Spring Stay!

My family of 6 adults just returned to our homes after a fantastic stay at The Blue Crab House! The pictures and listing details are spot on with what to expect. The location was so convenient whether getting to the beach, restaurants, activities or the market right across the street. Jack answered many of our questions ahead of our visit even recommending a kayak tour which we decided was a definite highlight! He was wonderful and quick to respond to our inquiries. We found the backyard a haven for hanging out, grilling and swimming. Be sure to take in an evening stroll after dark. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with lovely beach homes. Expect a large driveway and lots of privacy in a well designed home.

What a relief

After staying on Tybee last week at a different rental, this was a breath of fresh air. The CLEAN heated pool & hot tub were just what we needed. Safe & maintained after a previous weekend with a dirty hot tub that we never got to use because the host was so unconcerned abt its maintenance & never finished putting the chemicals in. We never would have wasted 3 nights had we been wise to the state of things there. Now we'll know who we can count on if we wish to return. Thank you for preserving that getaway spirit! We were abt to go back home rejuvenated. Thank you for the care you put in. It matters & we see it. Much love!

Great Girl's Trip

Our annual girl's trip of 7 friends (from across the US) spent three nights at the Crab House on Tybee Island (a location new to us in every way!), and we had a great time. The house is in an excellent central spot that feels walkable to any place you'd want to see (even the lighthouse if you're into a little workout). You can't beat the convenience of the grocery store across the street. We used both the hot tub and the pool, which were clean and ready to go when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make dinner one night-- some starter spices, plenty of pots and pans and dishes, etc. The house may cater a bit more to a family, given the bunk beds and sleeper chair, and I suppose the bathrooms may be a bit tight for seven women to get ready in, but we did know that going in since it was in another review and was still "doable". "Captain Jack" is a super cool host and you'll have a great time.

Best VRBO Vacation Experience We've Had!

My wife and I and our 18 and 12 year old daughters were here all last week. I won't repeat the effusive praise of other reviewers regarding this wonderful cottage....it's all true. I'm a big believer in using online reviews for purchase/planning decisions, and the unanimous five star reviews for this property are all richly deserved. Great location...just a 3-4 minute walk to the beach, and just far enough from the pier area so that we had plenty of social distancing space on the beach. Very well-equipped kitchen, well maintained pool and hot tub. The house was super clean when we arrived, so kudos to their housekeeper. 8-10 minute walk to the cute little downtown area with shops, restaurants, etc. There is a small market across the street, but I ended up driving the 15 minutes to the Publix (a lovely drive) due to the overly-tight space inside the nearby market. We rented a boat one day from Bull River Marina, did a private dolphin tour with Captain Derek himself...both highly recommended. Other than that, it was a week of sleeping late, lounging by the pool, hitting the beach in the late afternoon, grilling out dinner, and late night crab-viewing walks on the beach....everything a vacation should be. The owner, Jack, was the best owner we've dealt with in terms of overall pre/during-trip communication...always very responsive, which was greatly appreciated. We will be back! :-)

Crab house in Tybee Island, GA

The pictures of the ‘Crab House’ weren’t exactly accurate. Although the house was very clean, and well kept (pool and hot tub included), the accommodations do not match with the occupancy we brought. We had 6 people…4 adults and 2 teens. The pictures of the second bath does not do it justice…and justice not in a good way. The second bathroom is extremely small. The shower was made for a hobbit/midget/elf. I’ve never used a shower in which I were unable to even move (bending down is next to impossible for a regular sized adult. This bathroom is really a half bath. Also, the house is rather dated. Jack the owner seems like a great guy. My only suggestion to him would be to do a renovation to the home. Definitely renovate that second bath (a real shower would go a long way for comfort), update the cabinetry, new carpet in the bedrooms, and new blankets/comforter…just a thought. As for the location, it’s on a corner lot right on the main strip…there were a couple of “drunks stumbling by” that was a tad worrisome, and comical at the same time. The walk to the beach isn’t too bad…5 mins tops. That was a plus. All in all, it wasn’t a bad stay. The amenities were nice…pool, hot tub, fire pit, backyard with seating for picnicking. October weather in Tybee was really pleasant, and the crowds were nonexistent. The surf was too rough though (bummer). Trips to Savannah for sightseeing was also a plus! That was less than 30 mins away. All in all, it was a good getaway. We had fun.

I wish you had expressed your concerns while you were staying. In the future, perhaps ask a few questions before booking. I would have been happy to discuss the house with you in detail. When I checked with you the morning after your arrival, and you said everything was fine...that would have been a good place to start a discussion. As far as the pictures, I do think they represent the house accurately? In the several years that I have been involved with the house, we have not had an issue with that. Per your description, you enjoyed the pool, hot-tub, weather and proximity to the beach. That you were disturbed by passing people and the surf, I aplologize. Maybe Tybee isn't your spot? I wish you better travels in the future.

The recently refurbished interior is cool, clean and inviting. The private back yard has a heated salt water pool, a hot tub, and a fire pit! The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a king bed and an oversized chair that converts to a single bed- great for a young child. There is a queen bed in the second bedroom, and the bunk room features two bunk beds for the kids - as well as a fun reading nook.

The kitchen is expansive! It's fully-equipped and has tons of counter space to prepare meals you can enjoy together either inside or outside. The dining table seats 8 very comfortably.

There are televisions in the main living space, and in the two large bedrooms. The main living space television is a Smart TV, allowing you to input your codes for things like Netflix, HBO Go, and other streaming services. (Remember to Log Out before you check out!)

Coming back from the beach covered in sand? There is both an outdoor shower and direct access to a bathroom from the outside so that everyone can rinse off before coming into the house. (This is why there are two front doors!)

It is a cool, calm, easy space to be in and it will provide you and your family the perfect launchpad for your Tybee Island adventures.

A word about the hot-tub and pool, which we are very happy to share with you. Please act responsibly when using the water elements. Children, elderly, or infirm guests should not be left alone and excessive alcohol use in water can be very dangerous. Read the guidelines, but beyond that please be reasonable and safe. We want you to have a good vacation.

The house is private and at your complete disposal. There is room in the closets and bathroom shelves for you to unpack and spread out.

***Additionally, if you are joining us during a cooler month, the pool heater brings the temperature up but it does not make the water hot. Please understand that water can be made about 20 degrees over the average ambient temperature, and that it can only get to about 85 degrees at its warmest. This is a lot better than 40 degrees, believe me, but the water is not hot. There is the hot tub for that!
