The stay was even better than expected, easy check in process. Property owner very responsive, cabin clean, had essentials, very comfortable, peaceful, close to everything we wanted, short drive to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes for a day trip. Highly recommend for a couple, or 2 fisherman. Firepit, stargazing heaven, local bar for lunch or dinner nice local sticky buns and pizza. We will be back.Added a couple of pictures inside the cabin and Au sable River right down the road from the cabin.
Pros: Quiet location, hot water, shower and bathroom were clean, adequate cooking supplies, good location, price was decentCons: Very dusty, lots of cob webs, driveway was not marked, uncomfortable furniture, no instructions for check outI took my husband here for the weekend for fishing trip and some relaxation just the 2 of us. The cabin was nice overall but not very relaxing. The furniture was so uncomfortable that we even brought in our camp chairs to sit in. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable as well. We had issues sleeping due to it being so uncomfortable. The cabin's surfaces were clean but you can tell it wasn't deep cleaned in a long time. There were cob webs and dust everywhere. The driveway and parking area were not marked at all so we didn't know where to park. There was no instructions on check out or even a things to know about the cabin and your stay. Any VRBO I've stayed in usually has some info about the place you're staying and then also instructions for when you check out. Like what to do with trash for example. It could be a much better rental with a little cleaning and more comfortable furniture.
Great small cabin. Didn't realize that there wasn't wifi which wouldn't have been an issue but you don't get cell service either so communicating with our son in Grayling was difficult. Other than that great trip we saw a black bear and a ton of wild turkeys and deer.
The house was not far from the trail system we wanted to use and was very easy to get too. The neighbors were amazing and the house was perfect for the two of us. Would absolutely stay there again!
Less then a half mile from shupac lake and the north branch ! Perfect getaway for 3 people or less ! No cable tv or internet but thatâs what we were looking for ! Used the fire pit in backyard . Very cozy did have air conditioning which was a huge plus since it was the hottest week of the year so far . Will be booking again !
So the battery was not changed and died during our stay and we were locked out of the cabin at 12am. Tried to email the host and no online service for the email. Very upsetting. Had to buy a battery and change it ourselves$10.59 Not sure how you can make a phone number available for such emergencies and you know that the internet service is touch and go in the great north woods.
it was okay? There was No Wifi, 4 or 5 local channels, which we had no idea, we had to buy pillows and the bed was so uncomfortable, we didn't sleep good the whole time we were there, we tried? I bought Clorox wipes so I could wipe down everything, The place was cute and matched the pictures, but I will stick to Lewiston or Atlanta in the future.
We enjoyed our stay. It was clean, had everything we needed and close for us to attend a family reunion. We would stay here again. No wi-fi though, but we were fine without it.
Very clean... perfect place for 2 people. Could use a better tv like a smart tv so people can cast movies to it. Other than that it was perfect for me & the wife !
This is a small cabin perfect for two. It was clean and bed was comfortable. We loved all the cabin decor. I wouldnât hesitate to book again but next time I would bring a crockpot and mixing bowls. We enjoyed watching the birds and chipmunks in the neighbors back yard. It is just as described and for a great price!
I knew of the Lovells area and selected this place to be close to a friend. Clean, cozy cabin near good trout streams. Only needed a few hooks or hangers for clothes. Renters should also bring bath and dish soap.
Your biggest asset to your property are the awesome neighbors, Betsy, Greg and Ruby! They were excellent neighbors!!! We loved the property and the cabin, felt like home and hope to return next year!! Thank you very much!!!!!
Cabin was great, and the next door neighbors were friendly and very helpful. I would rent this cabin again with no hesitations. I highly recommend this anyone looking for a great experience!
We had an amazing stay at this cabin! The cabin was very clean, had a nice bathroom, and a great fire pit out back. We couldn't have asked for nicer neighbors and they were very friendly. We will definitely be back to say again in this cabin!
Pros. It is a quiet country location close to the Au Sable River. It is a decent little cabin for a fly fishing trip.
Cons. No WiFi, no internet or cellular service for Verizon. The cabin could have been cleaner. The biggest issue was a mouse or chipmunk running around one day. The next day, there was a bad smell of dead mouse. I called Chad for help, but received only text saying there is a mousetrap under the sink. Lots of little issues. Not enough toilet paper. Slow drain in bathroom sink, which in all honesty, I did not even mention to Chad, as the TP and mouse answers were not super helpful, and I had to communicate well away from the cabin where I could get a signalâŠ.
In summary. I think two people who only wanted to go fishing would be fine with this cabin. However, if a wife wanted to stay while her husband fished, I likely would not personally recommend.
There was no driveway so arriving after dark was a bit of a challenge. No Wi-Fi and the TV reception was horrible. Luckily, we all had books to read and the next door neighbors were very nice, we enjoyed talking with them. The place was very small but adequate. Not great as far as decor was concerned but if you're not going to stay inside, it wouldn't matter, unfortunately, I had my 90 year old mother with me so ir wasn't very pleasant for her. I'd recommend this cabin to men going hunting but not for anyone looking to relax.
