Cette cabine de trois chambres a un charme discret avec plus de 100 pieds de front de lac sur le lac Sunset. Cela inclut l'utilisation d'une cabine de 3 chambres et d'un garage détaché. Les deux chambres principales ont chacune une salle de bain privée et une douche. Leur est également un bain 1/2 près de la cuisine. Chambre a un lit king-size avec matelas en mousse à mémoire, salle de bains avec baignoire jacuzzi et douche. Chambre à coucher deux a un lit de notation de taille de reine et une salle de bains avec la douche et la baignoire. Chambre trois a un lit superposé avec un plein sur le fond / twin sur le dessus. Le porche de quatre saisons permet une grande sensation extérieure de pluie ou de brillance. La cabine a un ponton et un ponton. Le lac a une zone de lancement de bateau très basique, il reste donc très calme comparé aux grands lacs. Ne laissez pas cela vous tromper, il a toujours une bonne pêche et des trous profonds.

Le rivage est principalement constitué d'herbe retenue par les rochers. Il est à environ 1,5 pieds au-dessus des rochers dans 1,5 pieds d’eau. Les rochers sont de la balle molle à la taille du football. Le milieu du quai est de 4 'de profondeur avec un fond de sable / gravier. La fin du quai est d'environ 8 'avec de l'herbe de chou et de petites feuilles de nénuphar

La cabine est située à seulement 4 miles de l'atterrissage sur le lac de l'île de la ferme. 14 miles de Garrison et 25 miles de Brainard. Il est à 25 minutes en voiture du Grand Casino de Milacs.

Nice Property and location

Property was very nice with great location on private lake. House is on water with big backyard for games/hang out. The cabin is open with spacious rooms. Two bedrooms had full baths which was great. Would recommend.

Very nice property—plenty of room to play yard games and nice fire pit. Great location. Good fishing right off the dock. Recommend renting the pontoon-it was nice to take cruises.

Family vacation

Cabin was awesome, rooms were very good size. Loved how big the kitchen was. The lake was clear and had a lot of success fishing. Good size yard to play games. Also not to far from town as well.

We enjoyed staying at this property. Having the use of the pontoon was a bonus. We have corresponded with Matt regarding the pontoon and it appears he is working on fixing the issues we brought up. Otherwise everything was great. We would stay there again.

Super Awesome Cabin

Matt made the whole rental process super easy. We like to fish for largemouth bass and this lake is loaded with them. Secluded and quiet. Great spot and not far from Crosslake or Brainerd plus Aitkin has a few great spots to eat and drink as well. We really had a lot of fun at the lake for a week.

Wonderful Week on Sunset Lake

Quiet location, wonderful screened 3-season porch in which to enjoy breakfast coffee and play cards and games with family, beautiful large kitchen to prepare meals and a fun "log" dining room table and chairs. Would like to suggest adding a towel bar/hooks in each of the two bathrooms to hang wet towels. The shower floor in the king-bedroom bathroom is very slippery when wet...would suggest adding a mat or some of those non slip shower strips/stickers to solve that issue. The pontoon boat was an added bonus, even though our fishing endeavors resulted only in catching very small northerns and bass, which kept our "fisher-man" well entertained. All in all, a wonderful week, and I would definitely be interested in returning.

Annual Minnesota Fishing Trip

#1) owner MUST Must!!!!!!!!get a better cleaning crew as our first impression was a toilet brush in a dirty toilet and then I proceeded to clean the other 2 toilets as they were disgustingly dirty. We live on a pond ourselves so understand that any home near water can have spiders but the master bedroom was crawling everywhere with them! Changed beds after 1 night due to bites received. Place had been partially cleaned and refrig was spotless ( could tell as it was still wet from being cleaned and fresh food in garbage deposal.) Kitchen has extremely!!!! Limited pots and pans—- 1 lid for assorted 3 skillets /2 pots( except for 2 large “ lobster pots “— on a fresh water lake?? #2 Pontoon had not been touched as it had wet trash and moldy life jackets under the filthy ripped seats. #3 Found out day before we arrived that we needed to bring bottled water after asked host for more info 3 weeks prior as we would be in area the week prior and would appreciate any instructions/ info. No—- I am NOT new to MN lake life as we have been coming for years—- this is first time in July instead of September and our usual unairconditioned place was not available. Only plus —neighbors and the lake are wonderful people and fantastic beautiful lake!!- also grill works great Yes we did take pictures!! Would make a fantastic place if more attention to basic!!! Good but could be better . . .

The house is large with plenty of room and bathrooms. The use of the pontoon was a plus along with the paddleboat. The small beach is perfect for kids and the fishing from the dock is amazing!!! The location is close to the Twin Cities and close to Aitkin. Our only disappointment was that the house, the pontoon, and the paddleboat were not clean. Power washing the house and boats and doing a thorough cleaning of the other surfaces would go a long way to making this an amazing place to stay.

Quiet and beautiful lake sunsets

Host was helpful when reaching out to him. The pontoon and paddle boat were a definite must. We also really enjoyed the bumper pool table in the screened in porch. Thankful host informed me a day or two in advanced to bring water along for drinking etc… the water does have a. But if a smell to it. It is well water —I wouldn’t drink it. Grocery store is pretty close by. Loved the lake. It was beautiful. Only a couple things that could be improved on. Living room Furniture and bedding need updating. Old furniture doesn’t invite me to want to lounge on it. Cleanliness— needed a little more attention to cob webs throughout the house and the guest bathroom had garbage in the trash can and didn’t appear to have been cleaned prior to our stay. We also had some issues w the internet. My husband reached out to the owner but problem remained unsolved ( I’m assuming it was out of his control). Tried resetting the router but didn’t have success in making it better. Kitchen could use a griddle and maybe a few more pots/pans. Other wise it is stocked pretty well.

Great get away

The cabin is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. We enjoyed the screened in porch alot. Aitkin had fun shops and good restaurants, especially the Roadside Cafe. We enjoyed fishing on the pontoon and many fish were caught. It is quiet and peaceful!

Sunset view on Sunset Lake

Communication with Matt was great, he always replied in a timely manner. Upon arriving at the house, it looked like nobody had lived there in a long time. The house was very dusty, the entry and all sidewalks were covered in dirt and pine needles. Nothing we can't sweep off ourselves, but just thought it could have been ready for us. Same with the kayak and paddle boat, full or webs, pine needles and dirt. The house had ample room and we were able to all have our own space, but still all be together at the same time. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The master bed is rock hard if you like that sort of thing. The bunk beds felt like they were going to collapse at any moment so the kid assigned to the top bunk ended up sleeping on the floor. Maybe just an issue of needing the screws tightened. The bedrooms were all a nice size, enough room to add dressers. The lake is very clean and clear. The little sand beach area was nice to launch our kayaks and paddleboards. Dinner with a sunset view is always a plus.

The property is very nice as described. Fishing is good. and the sunsets are great. The only reason we didn't give it a 5 was that we were looking for property closer to Crosby.

We had a great family vacation. Fishing was very good. Bumper pool and the electric "pedal boat" were a big hit with our teenage kids. Would love to stay again.

Great getaway

We enjoyed our stay here. Very relaxing,! Matt was very responsive when we had a question. The yard was big and could play many different yard games. The cabin had many nice touches like bottled water, chocolates, and soap in every bathroom! Would stay here again.

Great cabin

This was a very nice cabin to stay for the weekend and it would have been a perfect getaway for a longer vacation. The area was very quiet and relaxing. The only problem was the lake water was too cold for a swim!

Perfect weekend get-away

Property was exactly as described. Quiet, lakefront, with gorgeous leaves in splendid fall colors. Beds were comfortable which was a huge plus! Hope to return during the summer.

Guys river fishing trip

The house was a great place for us to spend our evenings sharing our daily fishing experiences and pics. The house was clean and had more than enough room for the 4 of us. Great kitchen that was well supplied. We will definitely consider staying here next year.

Great Lake Views & Fishing!

Matt's place on Sunset Lake has spectacular views of the lake and provides a very comfortable setting for a couple or group get away. The home has large rooms and modern amenities. We spent our time in the pontoon on the lake, grilling out, playing yard games and enjoying evening fires. We really appreciated that the yard was sprayed, and we could enjoy it without the nusiance of mosquitos! While there are close neighbors on both sides of the property, the setting was private. Matt was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We had a great stay here!

Beautiful location

Sunset South Cabin is in a beautiful lakeview location that is surrounded by trees and is both secluded and quiet. The perfect place to be when you want to get away from your busy lives. The home could have been cleaned better upon our arrival. I did inform Matt about the problems with the cleaning so he can make sure that it does not impact future visitors. The kitchen could have used a few more items. It lacked microwavable safe bowls for cooking things like vegetables or beans. We also couldn't find a sauce pan. We were able to make do with what was available though. We really enjoyed our time in this cabin. It was nice to have a boat to use while there. It was quiet and peaceful. The seasoned porch was perfect for playing cards, reading or just relaxing. There is plenty of space to spread out and my grandchildren loved the bunkbeds. The tv was nice in the morning for my grandchildren, who'd wake up early. So many different options for them between Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and Hulu. The owner Matt, was a great communicator. While he didn't always answer when we first tried calling, he'd respond with a text or phone call within 30 minutes.

Everything we needed...

Figured I'd provide a lengthy review as there aren't many recent ones. Overall: Great place to get away from everyone/everything. The pontoon rental made it all worthwhile. Rooms: Bedrooms were huge and all sheets/blankets were provided. Bathrooms: 2 full baths and 1 half bath with complete with towels/TP/soap (even travel shampoos if you didn't bring your own). Kitchen: my biggest worry, but not needed. Gas stove with all the pans we needed to do anything (other than bake a dessert?) and utensils (turners, spoons, spatulas, can opener - only thing missing was a pair of tongs, but we brought one). All the appliances you'd need (toaster, coffee pot - maybe a blender?) Living rooms: spacious and comfortable furniture. Wifi had enough bandwidth to do a zoom call for work with no issues. TV had access to: Hulu basic, Amazon Prime, CBS and a generic 'live' program with somwhere in the neighborhood of 200 channels, including music channels. Outdoors: Pontoon boat was gassed up and ready with trolling motor and depth finder, We utilized the gas side of the split gas/smoker grill and the firepit (although with the MN 'birds' -mosquitoes- coming out for blood at dusk we didn't spend much time out after the sun went down). Also, don't forget you're coming out to the wild, so cobwebs, bugs and other wildlife are an expected experience! Surrounding area: not much for things to do outside the cabin aside from eating out in surrounding towns or a day trip to Lake Itaska, unless you bring your own equipment. So if you're looking for that type of trip, maybe not for you. But if you're looking for a local stay with enough civilization to get out and get supplies to come back and hunker down and chill...it definitely fits the niche!
