Place smelled like butt, hair all over the toilet, walls were dirty and flies all over. I left after 20 minutes and had to find another place to stay after driving 4 hours to get there.
Communication was easy, checkin process was good, property was as advertised. (A little nicer than I was expecting). Checkout was smooth.
Highly recommend!
Cute loft style studio. Clean, great for an overnight stay. View from studio to mountains must be beautiful in the winter. There are a few stairs to climb no lift.
Windham NY is a cute town with everything you need, friendly people, quaint shops, Victorian style homes kept beautifully and lots of nice restaurants.
Perfect location and affordable accommodations in an otherwise pricey town. The beds were comfortable (we used all three) and the view and balcony add a nice touch. We were only in town for two days and tried out four of the local restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner-they were all really good.
The pros: great location near the ski resort and right in town, beds were comfortable enough, owner was responsive, nice view.
The cons: needs a deep clean and upgrades to some furniture, water rusty so canât drink it, many many steps to get into unit.
Gorgeous view of the fall foliage from my balcony. The property manager was responsive and friendly. Within walking distance to Catskill Mountain Country Store where I had a delicious breakfast. Windham Path offered some lovely views.
We were looking forward to sitting out on the balcony. Unfortunately, we wouldâve been sitting just a few feet away from guests on either side. Simple privacy screens wouldâve made a big difference.
This is a great location if youâre skiing at Windham only a few minute drive from the mountain and walking distance to all the restaurants in town. Check in process is very easy, and parking situation is very helpful when the town is crowded. Room is comfortable and large for a couple but kitchen setup may not ideal for more than a weekend trip if you plan on cooking all your meals.
Cozy apartment above the charming main street of Windham with all the essentials for a family or small group. Cheerful notes scattered throughout to help with usage. Easy parking, walk to Windham's shops and restaurants, and a two minute drive to Windham Mountain skiing. Host was attentive, easy to communicate with, and nearby in case a helping hand is needed. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Excellent space with two bathrooms and two bedrooms -- has an open concept feel but use areas are still divided because of the multi-level plan (different areas include a sitting room with TV, kitchen, and a second sitting area with daybeds and nooks that opens to the balcony). Kitchen is fully-equipped for cooking.
One of the best features was the balcony that looks out from the back of the building onto the Batavia Kill, which also has some grassy frontage with some outdoor chairs for river-gazing and creek-walking, a table, and a portable BBQ.
Easy, walkable access to a variety of amenities in Windham -- between the country store next door and the Italian deli and sundries market, we easily picked up most of what we needed with short walks. "Pedestrian" dining options like the tap house on the bottom floor and the diner down the street were quite good, and VERY convenient, and there's also a fine dining option (The Millrock) in town that was truly excellent.
The proprietors were very kind and gracious -- after our initial walkthrough and some small talk, they left us entirely alone but were never more than a phone call (Suzanna's cell phone number is posted throughout the apartment) or even a holler (they live on the floor below but not directly under the apartment) away. We also received loving visits from their cat, who was equally friendly while remaining unobtrusive!
The only drawback was that the area can get noisy between the main street traffic (the bedrooms face the street, and the restaurant downstairs gets beverage deliveries early in the morning) and other building renters (which is obviously a chance you take anywhere). Noise travels through the older windows and thin walls. Strategic sleeping arrangements, fan usage, and window closures, however, truly can compensate for noise issues (one night we spent the first portion of the evening in the bedroom to avoid party noise, then switched to the balcony-adjacent room and avoided early morning traffic!). If you're heavy sleepers or younger folks (we're middle-aged and sometimes prone to insomnia), then it probably won't even be an issue.
Overall a lovely experience -- it was just the two of us, so this well-priced apartment that can sleep six, well-located for dining and hiking, was just the thing. Would rent longterm if we can get away for long enough!
The apartment was exactly what we needed! Two moms and two teenage daughters needed a place to stay while the girls did the one camp that did not cancel this summer. We wanted somewhere that was spacious enough for us and allowed us to balance time in the apartment with time hiking and enjoying the summer. The apartment was nicer than the pictures even lead us to guess. Everything was bright and cheery and super clean. We had everything we needed, from air conditioners in each room to a well stocked kitchen. The owner was wonderful and made everything easy. And the location was perfect with quick access to many lovely hikes as well as a handful of restaurants that we could order for pickup or sit out on porches.
