We had a wonderful experience staying at this beautiful property. The attention to detail, made it feel cozy, and everything was spotless and well-maintained. One of the highlights was definitely the incredible view of the lighthouse. The location was perfect: peaceful, yet close enough to local shops, restaurants, and attractions. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking in, and the beds were very comfortable after a long day of exploring.Weâve stayed in many rentals over the years, and this one stands out for its charm, cleanliness, and unbeatable view. Highly recommend and would love to return!
We had an amazing experience and we captured such beautiful pictures of all times of the day âŠAND had the view of the moon next to the lighthouse one evening! Bonus!! Great location, super charming spot. Very clean, very convenient we enjoyed our stay so much⊠thank you for a lovely space to enjoy our favorite place!
Very clean, beautifully decorated cottage off the beaten path. Loved the view of the lighthouse, the screened in porch and windows that opened to enjoy the fresh air.
Lighthouse Duck Cottage was the perfect base for us to enjoy a week of activities on Ocracoke. It was our first time on the island. The views of the lighthouse in the late afternoon/evening were brilliant!
Our hosts Sara and Bert were very accommodating and responsive to all our concerns.
Great Stay!
Such a lovely setting! View of lighthouse was beautiful. The house is nicely decorated and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen well appointed and spacious. We enjoyed walks to Springer's Point very much! Thank you!
My family and I had a wonderful time celebrating the July 4th holiday at this cute home. We've been coming to the island for over 30 years and always love our time spent on Ocracoke
PROS: The cul-de-sac location is nice & convenient to everything with a wonderful backyard view of the lighthouse. The bedrooms are smaller sized, but the house is well appointed so it lives larger & having the extra 1/2 bath was great w/4 occupants. This home was VERY CLEAN & also not too cluttered with "stuff". There were plenty of bath towels & a washing machine/dryer which are a must have for beach life w/kids. We closed the curtains on the front of the house during the high 90 degree days to help keep the heat out when we weren't there, but the air conditioner worked fabulously so the house was always cool & comfortable. There is an outdoor shower on the back deck & a spigot with hose near the driveway which were both convenient & (again) mandatory for beach life. There's a screened porch, a charcoal grill, & a bike rack too
CONS: the worst things I can say are...
Regarding the house, there aren't any fans to move the air around or for white noise, but we had our own so it wasn't a problem for us. Regarding the island in general (if you don't already know),, the mosquitoes are thick around sunrise/sunset so make sure you don't get caught outside without bug spray during those times
**This was our first time staying in this home, we enjoyed it and would definitely stay here again đ
We have stayed in many different homes over the years on the island, and this one is one of our favorites! Great location with views of the lighthouse, quiet and private street, and very cool non-traditional beach decor. Very clean and nicely updated home. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Sara and Bert!
The weather wasnât great, but it was still a fun trip. The view of the lighthouse from the back deck and back bedroom were beautiful. The hosts were so kind and accommodating; the house was clean and absolutely beautiful!
Highlights of the house include: Great âkidsâ room is very cute and cozy with fun details, large kitchen with everything you need, large, comfortable living area, and fantastic screened-in porch. Great location with an awesome backyard, too. The view of the lighthouse is spectacular because itâs practically in the backyard! The Clark family was wonderful to work with, theyâre very responsive plus the cottage is the cleanest weâve ever rented!
This is a perfect Ocracoke spot. Nestled amongst live oaks with The Lighthouse out the back door! The house is well appointed, beautifully decorated and a pleasure to stay in. You can't make a mistake with choosing this cottage.
This small summer cottage was the sister property to our old Ocracoke home and there it sat out our backdoor for 10 plus years with no one to care for and protect its uniqueness. So, we took it into our family compound and wow what a challenge. Now it has been completely restored following the National Register Standards and is a valuable example of the mid-century architectural stlye found here on Ocracoke in the early 50's.
