Lloyd the owner was super attentive when I directed the taxi driver to the wrong property. Both he, and Varo the property manager were kind, and patience and informative. It is a family property so please support it over the mega complexes popping up in the area. Super laid back and comfortable. Easy walk down beach to the city of Puerto Morales
We have been looking for the right kind of vacation for years in the Cancun area. We done all the big hotels and in hotel zone and grew tired of the boom boom clubs and hustle. Found this place and knew immediately this is our place for life. Need to check this place out. Wonât disappoint
We've stayed at the home twice before and absolutely love it. We love the 1mi/2km walk on the beach into town for drinks and dinner, we love the seclusion/privacy of the two houses. The private beach yard area is gorgeous - everything about this place is great from our perspective. Puerto Morelos is a neat little town, quiet and peaceful with wonderful restaurants & of course a few tourist shops for souvenirs. We most enjoy La Sirena's and Pelican's - our two most favorite dining spots. Be advised on your beautiful stroll to town via the beach, you will cross a section of beach that's nudists - but it's very lightly occupied from our experience - and we walk to town every night. The hosts provide ample drinking water and the place has always been clean and well maintained. Hot water is limited, but sufficient. As typical with a rental, there's little to nothing in the way of spices and condiments - we even had to buy salt & pepper, but the kitchen is adequately stocked with pots, pans and dishes (we eat a hot, homemade breakfast every day). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you're looking for a quiet, private, romantic get away. Thank you Joan & Lloyd for sharing your home :)
This was our first trip to Mexico. Puerto Morelos was the perfect location in the middle of everything. Casita de Las Estrellas was amazing beautiful. The views were breathtaking and the home was very clean. We were very comfortable here with two adults and a teenager. We have taken many trips but the management here was the best weâve ever had. They were very helpful with any questions that we had and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Our plane landed much earlier than checkin times but management accommodated quickly to make our arrival easy. We rented a car to be able to go to Cancun and Tulum for sightseeing. But the town of Puerto Morelos is not far away with plenty of shopping, town grocery store and tourist activities. We spent most of our evenings in town shopping and having dinner. We took many walks on the beach that also have restaurants in walking distance. We donât mind the hustle of people, but if you want a quiet vacation spot only a short walk away from it all, this would be my recommendation! Thank you Lloyd for and amazing experience!
This place was incredible. Million dollar views from every window. Resident iguanas that the kids names Ziggy and Iggy. Yesica was so helpful and kind. The water was gentle and warm and just steps away from the back door.
Perfect spot for peace and relaxation.
Beautiful and comfortable casita right on the sand with the warm ocean at your feet just steps away. Great responsiveness of Lloyd and Yesica. Appreciate that very much. We will be back!
Wouldnât change a thing. And Iâm picky!!
The views through the palms to the sea from the front patio and second floor balcony were lovely. Quiet and secluded, I loved relaxing on the patio with a good book and then just walking down to the beach for a swim. The walk to Puerto Morelos is about 2 kilometers according to the sign at UNAM, but it is the best kind of walk: on the beach!
the perfect casita and location for a quick getaway! especially enjoyed the sunrises, swimming in the gentle water steps from the home, and the relaxing walk to puerto morelos, which is a lovely fishing village with beautiful friendly folks and delicious food!
This is the definition of a âgetaway.â It is designed to getaway from crowds, from resorts, from town, from the idea that one needs to do anything on vacation, aside from watching the sea.
This place provides your own private beach. We spent most of the time on the shaded porch, but some on the lounge chairs in the sun, some under the palapa near the beach, and some swimming by ourselves on the beach in front of the place.
There is a new, modern grocery in town, and we bought supplies, which enabled us to use the well equipped kitchen for most meals. The bed was comfortable, water pressure and hot water great. The place was in good repair and clean. Everything worked.
The local property manager was friendly and helpful, and added to our relaxation knowing that any problems would be dealt with (and we didnât have any problems.)
The views from all three floors of this place are special. I hope to return.
Just a couple of notes. The good news is, the Casita is away from town. The bad news is, if you need something, it is away from town. There isnât a neighborhood store for anything. I know that people enjoy this place without transport, but for me, having a rent car made things much easier. Also, if you have heavy luggage, be aware that there is no help getting your gear upstairs, and the circular stair case can be a chore. I wouldnât think this property would be ideal for those with physical challenges.
We really enjoyed our stay! No surprises. All the reviews and information were accurate, nothing misleading. The owners and Vickie (the caretaker across the street) and cleaning staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The guest email, we received ahead of time, has pages of information about the area, from restaurants to transportation, the doctor's location, contacts etc... The house was very clean and fully functioning. The downstairs shower is great. The views from windows and multiple balconies were beautiful classic tropical beach theme. There's a palapas on the way to the beach with your own little gate. There's lawn chairs to lay in the sun and other chairs to bring down to the beach. The ocean is approximately 50 paces from the house. You share the fenced in lot with the other house. But plenty of room for solitude, seeing as that max capacity for our house is 3 people and 2 people for the sister house. A great experience and a great price. I will want to visit again.
My husband and I had a glorious 3 weeks at Casita de Kas Estralles! We made many meals in the kitchen and shared a lot of laughs next door where our friends were staying. The property offers many incredible views of the beach and the water, not to mention a âprivateâ beach area to lounge and relax in peace! The sound of the ocean, waves and tropical birds will be sorely missed until next time. The walk to town takes about 30 minutes but itâs a relaxing therapeutic walk along the beach with the warm water and fine sand making you wish it was longer! Puerto Morelos is a welcome relief from the larger more crowded centers but still offers many great places to eat! The Super Chedruai in town is very convenient (and open late!) but we loved hopping on the Collectivo and shopping for food in the Colonia. Lots of very wonderful, authentic Mexican restaurants there too, and places you can bring ready made delicious meals home. Be sure to check out the fresh seafood markets too.
Vicky, our property manager was alway really helpful and super friendly! She lives close to the property and looks after her guests with lots and of care! We shall return!!!
We felt as if we owned our own private beach at Casita de las Estrellas! The setting simply can't be beat - a private, sandy walk to the beach, a killer view of the sea and rising sun, a small but vibrant village near Cancun, Tulum and Playa del Carmen - but without the hordes of tourists and the big resorts that cut most of the views in those bustling tourist spots. A great place to relax and enjoy the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. The house is perfect, with an awesome kitchen and patio, comfortable beds, and Mayan decor. Joan answers queries in a flash, and Vicki managed to find a baby crib for my granddaughter. It was a lovely, relaxing vacation, and we would definitely come back!
Loved staying here. Quiet and private. Everything you need is there. Highly recommend. Loved the walks via the beach to town, the quiet private garden with beach access jus steps away and the resident iguana âIggyâ!
Puerto Morelos is a charming place, everyone is so friendly. We will return!
The Casita De Las Estrellas was just perfect for what we were looking for in a relaxing vacation.
The home itself was just lovely. It was clean and well equipped with all needed supplies for our week long vacation. The space was perfect for us as a couple. We enjoyed breakfasts and lunch on the front porch with the sun and ocean breeze and dined out each night in the nearby downtown of Puerto Morelos. The privacy of the front beach/lawn was relaxing, and we could bring our chairs down to the beach/water front if we desired. It was a nice 20-30 minute walk into town one direction down the beach and a lovely walk in front of some of the all inclusive hotels to the other end of the beach. We rented a car which was convenient to travel into town each day for groceries, dining out, shopping, and daytrips north and south where we went to Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres. There were always taxis sitting on the town square if you needed one for transport back to the house if you do not have a car. It is quite a walk if you don't have a car/bike or like to walk that far.
We were very nicely greeted by Vickie across the street and she was very available for any questions or concerns in regards to the house or nearby sightseeing etc. Iggy the iguana that lives under the porch will visit you each day and is completely harmless but interesting to observe.
The queen sized bed was comfortable and even though suspended by ropes it was stable and did not create any undue swinging during the night time sleep! :) there is a futon in the kitchen area and another one in the third floor that we did not need to use, but could sleep more if needed to be greater than 2 people staying here. The AC was perfect for the kitchen and bedroom areas. The upper porch provides a lovely view and breeze of the water.
Fresh bottled water was provided in large 5 gallon container with plenty of supplies to meet our needs for beyond a week.
We were provided with information to contact Kathy the neighbor on one side who owns a dive shop and she coordinated for us to have a private boat come to our beach to pick us up for a snorkeling 2 hour trip out on the reef off from this beach. Unfortunately this was scheduled two times and due to choppy sea water it was cancelled both times. The rate was very reasonable and I would recommend doing this but don't wait to schedule it in case the sea is not so smooth each day. She can also organize fishing trips for you.
there are many restaurants in the town of PM that you will enjoy. John Gray was one of our favs - but the most expensive.
This is a comfortable, private home designed for those not wanting the hotel/ multi condo option. It is a bit out of town, but for me that was the beauty of this place. We had a rental car, which was a convenience, but not a necessity. The walk along the beach to town took us about 40 min. Walk in and taxi back is a good option.
The house itself was great. Fully equipped, comfortable, in a very relaxed, scenic setting. I highly recommend this house for anyone wanting to stay near town, but not in town.
So glad we discovered this gem! Looking forward to another stay!
Great location in a quiet corner of vibrant Puerto Morelos
We arrived in the early evening after a long flight. We found our Casita to be as sweet as advertised. Vicky, the property manager, was there to greet us and make sure that we had everything that we needed.
The Casita has great views of the sea from every level, with comfortable seating both inside and out. While the kitchen adaquatly supplied and can be used for simple meals, serious cooking is it a little challenging. Because there are so many good restaurants nearby this was not an issue for us.
The downtown area is an easy 2 km stroll along the beach ; there is lots to do and see in the area.

We loved our stay at Casita de Las Estrellas. The home was clean, the yard was amazing with completely private space to sun bathe or public access to the water, which was never rough enough to not swim in. The walk to the village daily was another fantastic element. We would stay again. Thank you!
This is a wonderful little house, on a quiet and clean stretch of the beach. The owner and the property manager are both terrific, and the house is generally very well-equipped. The only short-coming, which was only noticeable on rainy days, is that there isnât a very comfortable place to sit and relax on the first floor. There is a sofa, but it takes up all of the space so there are no coffee tables or end tables or facing chairs. Other than that, though, this place is wonderful, and the town of Puerto Morelos is wonderful!
