Weekend Getaway 5yr Anniversary ❤️

We had an amazing time at the lake house. The laid back and relaxing environment was exactly what we were looking for. The sunsets on the lake were gorgeous. We will definitely be staying again. We loved the cabin and the views.

My birthday getaway

Definitely rent again! Great for families or large groups, enough space to spread out. Great for small children. Place is homie and well kept.

Annual lake getaway

My husband came here when he was a child with his family and it was great to be able to share this with our daughter. The sunsets were breath taking and we couldn’t get enough of the lake. Thank you so much for opening your place to us.

Relaxing!

Our family stayed at this cozy home for Labor Day weekend. It was absolutely wonderful. Communication with the owner was superb. The house, dock and swimming area were perfect. We will definitely come back!

Amazing location!!!

Easy access to boat ramp. Convenient shopping and bait store. Kids loved hanging out on the dock, swimming and catching blue Gill. Super spacious and clean. A definite yearly trip with the fam.

Great location and screened in porch

The lake house was everything pictured. Very large living room and screened in porch. We were able to walk directly from the house to the end of the dock. And use the boat lift. A little problem with septic, but Shawn took care of the issue. Would love to stay again.

House is in a great location.... i will give it that. house next door is empty and looks condemned. Otherwise this house isnt level in some spots of the house. The benches on the boat dock had too be scrubed off by the water, Because there was so much bird poop on them too sit on. Looked like owner hasnt been too property in a while or had his eyes on the house recently. Definitely needs to be thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Multiple light switches hanging out of walls and lights not working in the one bedroom. Would stay here again if owner fixed some of the issues. Otherwise it was fun. Family enjoyed ourselves. Neighbors are nice. Lake placid is Beautiful.

Its a cabin on the lake as I describe it in the description! It was built 60 years ago so the floor has settled through the years. I do not go over all the time as I depend on my cleaning company to keep me up to date, As for the house next door the new owners are in the process of completely remodeling it so I have no control over it and its really not my business or place to worry about it, but glad they are redoing it as I'm sure it will look great when they are completed. I believe it would be best to find other accommodations next time as it is not a resort with grounds keepers on site. Thanks Shawn

Relaxing from the moment you step foot on the property...

While we chose this vacation home based on the positive reviews and beautiful pictures, neither of those actually did this home justice. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew that we wouldn't want to leave. From the floors to the walls to the furniture, the whole house is constructed with the utmost craftsmanship and attention to detail. The largest bedroom has beautiful views of the lake, and thoughtfully, the owners put a covering on the windows, so you can see out but others cannot see in, meaning you literally wake up to beautiful views of the lake. The screened in porch is the perfect retreat from the hot sun, while you still feel as though you are outside. While the home is convenient to area stores and restaurants, you still feel away from it all when you arrive back at The Lake House. The dock is very spacious - many people can comfortably fish at once, and all of us caught record size bass! It's also a romantic space to enjoy the lovely sunsets over the lake. Don't miss it! During this visit I was recuperating from an injury (making the interior views all the more cherished), but next time we visit, we definitely plan to bring our kayaks and paddleboards - maybe even the fishing boat - with space for all of those boats on the dock. All the neighbors are friendly, and overall, it was a relaxing atmosphere and tremendous getaway. Thank you to Shawn, the owner, for sharing his beautiful home. He certainly aims to please!

Great views and relaxing stay!

I want to start off by saying we truly enjoyed ourselves during our stay. The weather was perfect and we had everything we needed. I have been to Lake Placid many times (different house.) I also depend highly on other peoples reviews before I choose a home. Every review for this house stated how "clean" the home was, however, when we arrived the home was extremely dusty and appeared to not have been cleaned for some time. The shower needed a deep clean. I let Shawn know right away. I also looked for amount of bathrooms on the site, beforehand since we were a larger group this trip. On the site it states this house had 1 full bath and 1 half bath. We found that a little deceiving. It took us some time to find this "half bath." It is not located in the main house, and is just a toilet next to the washer and dryer with no sink to wash your hands. You need a key to get into this part of the house. It is not under air. We did make it work just felt that should be mentioned in the details of the house. The master bedroom mattress and pillows were the most comfortable bedding my husband and I have ever experienced in any Air BnB or Vrbo. I cannot say the same for the rest of the beds. The house is spacious and the dock is stunning. We rented a boat and took it out for the day. We grilled and cooked and had all the needed kitchen supplies. The water filter for the refrigerator needed to be changed so we had to buy bottled water. I also spoke to Shawn about the Septic tank because the smell of the water was awful and filled the entire house every time someone showered or ran the water. He explained to me that he has had some issues with the people who maintain the water. Again, we made it work. Shawn was always available and even made a surprise trip to the house while we were there. He is friendly and respectful. We will definitely return to Lake Placid in the near future!

The home is cleaned behind every guest however when we try to cater to our guest as to check in early or stay a little late some times we do our best to keep it clean. again this is an older home that we keep improving on every year and take pride in our home but at the end of the day its not the Hilton its just a nice cabin on the lake... As for the bathroom there is one in the laundry room and the key is just inside the house. it can be locked for your privacy if you so choose to use it so no one just walks in. As for the water i pay gulligan water every month to maintain it due to the fact we are on a well and have sulfur water but sometimes their service just don't seem to work. We are working on changing that as well. There are no problem with the septic but guest seem to exceed the guest limit and even in this case there was about 10 guest when i stopped by as we where over for the day fishing. We want our guest 100% happy so please keep in mind if you are looking for the Hilton experience this may not be for you. its just a nice cabin with beautiful views. My trip with Dad.

I rented the lake house to have a comfortable place for my father and I to relax after we visited family. What a great spot & location the neighbors are all super friendly and made it feel right at home. Shawn was at the ready if I needed anything. If I come back to Florida I will definitely book this place again. Could not of found a better place.

The building is very specific, the floor in the house is undulating, the building is very dirty inside and out, a lot of spiders, a second toilet with an entrance from the outside, the area is pleasant because the proximity of the lake

This is a older home that I take great pride in!!! If you had any complaints you could of notified me right away. Your right its not the Hilton but 99% of all my guest seem quite happy with the accommodations and I'm sorry you never notified me of any complaints. Great Lake house

We had a great family lake house weekend. House was perfect big living room and patio. The dock was great for our two jet skis with a lift. Very good time!

beautiful home and cozy beach area with dock clear water

the property is just was we were looking for had a beautiful dock with boat and jet ski lift had a beach area with clear water for the kids and adults to sun and play in. The house is updated plenty of room, and we loved loved loved the back screen in area I think it was my favorite place in the house. (The grill area was nice as well) I could set there all day and night watching the boats go by and the storms move in as well as the beautiful sunsets! If I has one thing I missed was a second TV my hubby and I fought over the TV every night :) so we worked out a time frame for us to watch the TV :) but over all I rate it A+ Gail Wiseman
