This is my second time staying here, and I plan on coming back. One you are in the parking lot, all you hear is the sound of the creek. The table and chairs is a great addition. The only thing I would like, is a big table outside. Eating outside by the creek is the best, I spent more time there, than inside.
Definitely a great place with 1-2 people. Close to Georgetown and not far from Idaho Springs.
I booked this property from the pictures I viewed on the internet. The cabin is small, but has everything you would need for an enjoyable stay for two people. All basics are supplied. You do have to put the Murphy bed up and down each day. The bed is comfortable.
I did not realize how close the cabin is to the creek and being spring time it was high water and made us a little nervous how close the water was to the cabin and how fast the water was. In fact the last night of our stay we stayed at a motel.
The owner did reply quickly to our questions.
The Cricket is the best! Its location allows for a feeling of being isolated in nature, yet is only a short walk from the shops, restaurants, and other amenities of downtown Georgetown. The cabin is cozy, but with everything you might need (other than pods for the strange coffeemaker. There were not even any available for purchase in town, so take some with you! Or you will need to do as I did, and buy a coffeemaker you can actually use). Other than that, it was delightful and I would certainly stay at The Cricket again.
This piece of paradise is just a 45 minute drive from Denver, yet it feels as though you've entered a different world entirely.
By far, my #1 reason to stay here is Clear Creek. The cabin sits right on the creek, the view is breathtaking and the roar of the water soothes the soul. It's magical. Although the property is close to I-70, you would never know. The sound of the creek drowns out any traffic noise from the highway. The Cricket is entirely surrounded by evergreens, aspens and the creek, and you can't see your neighbors. The result is feeling like you are removed from the rest of the world.
The price is reasonable, and the cabin, (tiny but well stocked) is perfect for two people. In addition, Robin so helpful and prompt in replying to questions.
My stay here was good for my soul, and I can't wait to return.
What a beautiful little perfect cabin. With Clear Creek less than 10 feet away, the setting could not be any prettier. The Cricket was sparkling clean and everything worked very well. Our hosts were very friendly and super-responsive too. We'll definitely be back to stay in this little gem.
The cabin was as pictured online. Quaint, clean, had everything we needed. The creek was the highlight. Even with light rain we enjoyed sitting in the chairs for morning coffee or standing under the protection of a tree mesmerized by the beauty surrounding us. One morning woke up to a family of mule deer having breakfast at the end of the driveway. The Cricket was everything we expected and more. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you Robin, for sharing your peace of paradise.
This cabin is the perfect place to get away from it all! Town is just down the road, but feels like you're miles away. We enjoyed going out, but preferred staying "home". Absolutely loved it, will definitely be back!
Thank you so much for a lovely place for us to "relax" and just enjoy the beautiful mountain views. The Cricket is so lovely and so well loved and maintained. It felt like home! Thank you so much Robin for making our stay just perfect! All the little "extra's" that you provide made all the difference! We loved it!
This tiny house was much more special than I imagined!
My stay was lovely and very peaceful, and hearing the steam was most relaxing!
I am anxious to return!
Thank you for a beautiful stay!
We enjoyed a peaceful, comfortable weekend getaway at the Cricket. It has everything you need in a cute little space. Walkable to everything in town and hikes. Would definitely stay again!
This place is the cutest Iâve ever been, the house is cozy and well managed. The town close by is filled with the most fantastic people and food. Such a historic place that has to be preserved. Weâre coming back here many more times!
Our stay at the Cricket was amazing. It really is a small slice of heaven. It feels remote but you are only a short walk to dining, shopping, and entertainment.
We had a wonderful time at The Cricket, except that the weather was stubborn- very windy and cold- Who knew, in the month of December đ.
Otherwise, our stay and Georgetown Christmas Market was a wonderful experience. Thank you!
We loved our time at the Cricket. The location so close to historic Georgetown and right on a beautiful creek was peaceful and convenient. The cabin is nestled between two mountains so there is always something to look at, while sitting creekside.
The cabin is configured well with a full kitchen. We made most of our meals there, although there are several nice options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in town - two local breweries too! We took advantage of several great day trips - Guanella Pass, Mt Evans, Rocky Mountain National Park, plus some historic tours within Georgetown. I wish we would have booked a longer stay!
I don't usually write reviews, but this one deserves it! The cabin was tiny, but absolutely perfect for my husband, myself & our 2 poms. We loved the creek that rolls down from the mountain. It's what staying in the mountains is all about & should be. There's a nice sitting area we loved by the creek, my husband caught fish every morning. We only wished we could've stay longer! If we ever come back to Colorado we'll definitely be renting here! It was perfect for our 20th anniversary
Robin, the host, is an excellent communicator and very accommodating.
The landscaping is beautiful. The lot is cozy and although the neighboring houses are close, we never saw anyone else. The outdoor sitting area is perfect!
The cottage is cozy although the bathroom is a bit tight.
Plenty of linens, blankets and even Kuerig cups and most kitchen supplies.
You can easily walk to the old downtown and enjoy a Chai latte. We walked around to the walking bridge above the cottage, too.
Cute cottage. Cute town.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again sometime.
