What a beautiful well decoratd home!
This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with lots of room for all of us. The open floor plan is great. The whole house is tastefully decorated and very bright. Everything was very clean and everything needed was provided. The pool with its private backyard is to die for. Getting to the beach is only a 10 minute walk from the house. We visited most of the local restaurants while we were there for a month. So very easy to get around the island. We plan to visit again next year. Thank you, Susan.
Wonderful home and Susan is very quick to respond!
We had a lovely stay at Tickled Pink! The home and pool is very clean and has most everything you need to enjoy the island. Susan is very prompt to answer any questions and make repairs. Traffic can be loud as the home is next to a busy street. Overall a wonderful experience!
Stressful Setting Does Not Equal Relaxing Vacation
We were very excited about visiting and vacationing on Anna Maria Island. Read all the posted reviews and thought Tickled Pink Cottage would be a relaxing setting to enjoy with our family. We have traveled all over the world and unfortunately we were disappointed. We wanted a nice vacation that was stress free and from the moment we arrived it built very quickly and was with us our entire stay. We admit we arrived 45 minutes early to a clean empty house and brought in our suitcases only to be confronted 15 minutes later by an angry owner’s husband who preceded to yell at us. After verbally chastising us we left only to be called immediately by the owner and told we needed to pay an additional $200 fee or forfeit our entire vacation. We paid the fee and returned at the proper time…not a minute early!! Okay, we made a mistake going into the house but the reaction by the owner was uncalled for…it could have been handled in a more civilized way on the owner’s part. So, not a good start….
Easily walk to the beach
AC worked great
Nice Pool when clean
Clean house, nice kitchen
So many rules – the refrigerator was covered with house rules, book with house rules, and Post-It notes throughout the house with more rules - even what brand of toilet paper and how to flush….
Dirty BBQ – notified owner – was told the previous tenant had no problem using it, but they never cleaned off the crusted on food and grease…we didn’t bother grilling like we had planned.
Noise – although numerous notices about noise ordinance violations and the threat of fines, the house is next to a busy street with considerable traffic noise even late into the evening. We believe the noise level was well above the maximum daytime limit of 65 decibels and nighttime noise limit of 50 decibels that was spelled out in the house rules. In those rules the owner noted a whisper is 30 decibels. Bring your sound meter to make sure you abide by the rules. We were afraid to even sit in the backyard at night!!
Pool – it very nice but the owner said it would be cleaned and that was never done throughout our stay (and we did notify the owner about the pool debris).
Ceiling fan in living room – could not turn down the speed from max and the after notifying the owner the response was they would not fix it because of our early arrival.
We made sure we followed all the rules and left the house per all the rules. We were "Tickled Pink" to finally go home!
We assumed this guest would provide a bad review, lets tell our story.....guests were reminded that the check in time was 4pm the day before arrival, and as agreed to in the signed lease agreement. Response back from guests was that they would be arriving onto the island and at our home by 2pm. I denied their request to enter at 2pm as housekeeping had asked for no early check ins, and the previous guests had notified us of some repairs they noted (damaged during their stay) needed to be completed. Arrival at our home at 2:30, noting we had 1.5 hours to complete our repair tasks prior to the anticipated arrival of our new guests at 4pm, only to find our 4pm guests in the home, watching TV, bags in & unpacked, refrigerator stocked, and the son in the shower. They were asked to leave while the repairs could be made and were reminded that they were told not arrive early. We did finally agree to their early arrival & charged them the early arrival fee & told them that some of the repairs were unfinished due to their occupancy. This was agreeable to them at that time. The critical plumbing repair was made but minor, non-urgent repairs (fan chain) were put on the back burner. The guests complained daily about the smell of the glue for the plumbing repair, dirty grill top, pool not having the debris cleaned out daily following storms,....we had several storms throughout their stay, the pull chain being broke off of 1 fan (was on the repair list we had), and other things. I had contacted the pool company but they were behind due to the storms, and the pool was only cleaned of rain/leaf debris once during their stay (Wednesday). They arrived on Sat & departed Thursday. There are no Rules posted on the refrig...just reminders, which trash day services what, what to do at check out, where beach items are located, where the $1 Store is located, etc. And YES, we do request the use of eco-friendly TP because -- its an island with natural resources that we would like to preserve for YOUR/OUR enjoyment. The noise ordinance is a reminder, because this is newly enacted, and the guest can be fined by the city.
The bottom line here, the folks arrived early to our home after being told NO and then acted like we were in the wrong, when clearly they had trespassed onto the property even when they were denied due to maintenance scheduling--and then complained that what couldn't be completed due to this was about the property and the owners NOT their actions.
Perfect place for family memories❤️
I have stayed at Tickled Pink Cottage for the past 2 years now. It is everything you need when visiting Anna Maria Island. It’s nestled right in the heart of the island. Close enough to walk to the beach or hop on the trolley to enjoy some of our favorites: Donut experiment, Poppos, The Sandbar restaurant and the pier! The house has an awesome layout that gave our family of 5 plenty of space. Anything you can think of, from dishes, condiments, laundry and even beach chairs and toys are available for use. The pool is one of the best accommodations. There is a nice, private backyard with an outdoor shower. Nothing like coming back to the pool after a long day at the beach. We just love this house and have made some great memories there! House is always clean and fully stocked with essentials. Susan is so easy to work with and always gets back to you if you ever have any questions. I am so glad that Susan trusts her beautiful home with us and we can’t wait to come back next year!!
Holmes Beach gem
We stayed here as part of a family trip. The property is about 2 blocks from the beach. A delicious restaurant is walking distance also. It is located on the corner of a main road but this didn’t bother us at all since the backyard is gated. The noise and traffic were not bad at all. It’s a small island after all. The size and distribution of the house and pool were perfect. The house was very clean and had all the supplies you could think of. Susan was very accommodating as well. In summary, we would love to stay here again.
