Our stay was perfect! Mardi, the owner, was wonderful to work with and the location was central to so many beautiful sites! We cannot wait to come back!
We live in Toronto but our hearts are in France! Mardi teaches French and cooking to elementary school boys and authors eat. live. travel. write - a blog about culinary adventures near and far. She is a Food Revolution Day Ambassador for Toronto and hosts adult cooking and baking classes in Toronto. In 2018, she published her first cookbook (In the French Kitchen with Kids, Appetite by Random House). Neil works in the 3PL industry and is an active Rotarian. Having completed his wine & spirits certification, he furthers his knowledge of all things vinous as a member of the French Wine Society and Society of Wine Educators. He is the âwine chapâ for Mardiâs website, and is passionate about global travel.
We fell in love with Gascony back in the summer of 2012 after taking a food photography workshop in the area. We love that it's so "undiscovered" yet there is SO much to discover - great food and wine (and Armagnac!), beautiful countryside, quaint towns and very friendly people.
maison de la fontaine is conveniently located just steps from the summer night market (June - Sept every year) where you can enjoy local food and wines and entertainment with the locals! Just minutes from the fabulous Saturday morning market and a 20 minute drive to Agen. The house is close to both Bordeaux and Toulouse making it the ideal home base for day trips in the area.
