Great property in the middle of an authentic Maltese community but within easy reach of tourist hotspots. We enjoyed exploring the local area and discovering great spots to eat and drink. Mary, our host was incredibly helpful and made it clear that she was available if we needed anything. Our first trip to Malta, but weâll certainly be back.
The apartment is beautiful and there was everything that was needed for our stay. There was plenty of space I believe it could fit another bed. The terrace was spacious too and we had plenty of energy left because we didnât stay at the apartment during the day. The communication with the host was excellent too.
Mary Chipperfield is a gem. She is an energetic, retired businesswoman who is both professional and nurturing. She responds to any contact with uncanny promptness. She is generous with her time and resources and a treat to converse with. She is a Maltese who grew up in the UK and is very informed, to renter's benefit. The property, a traditional Maltese home, was her mom's--and feels very homey while providing all the mod-cons. The neighborhood is just what I wanted so that I could learn about typical life on Malta. There are plenty of buses and the Ecab service is outstanding--which is good because walking the narrow sidewalks can be a bit tiring for those not accustomed. (I didn't even think about renting a car after seeing the driving style of the Maltese; definitely not for the faint of heart.) All in all, an excellent experience with lots of charm and no unfortunate surprises.
Very comfortable house, well located to explore Malta.

Mary the host met us at the airport and took us straight to the house to settle us in for 15 euros. She is very helpful and clearly wants you to enjoy your stay and invites you to contact her at any time, during your stay if you need her.
The house is located in a small town with all necessary facilities, including eating places, take-outs and an exceptionally lovely wine bar at the end of the street.
The house is very clean, with beautiful antique furniture, the bedroom is really special and the bed was very comfortable.
The Kitchen has all you need to self cater.
Bathroom is large and includes good shower and a tub.
We decided not to hire a car, as the public transport in Malta is excellent, the main road at the top of the street has many bus's that offer a route straight to your chosen destination, otherwise, you can always get another connecting bus from near by beautiful Valletta. If you did hire a car, there may be some difficulty parking outside the house.
There is a good outdoor area on the roof terrace, which is a real suntrap, but I wouldn't recommend taking small children up there.
All in all, would recommend it as a very spacious accomodation for a couple in a really convenient location.

A charming traditional Maltese property, with a modern kitchen and bathroom. Regular, clean and cool bus routes covered the whole Island and Gozo and the Tallinja card system was invaluable. Sadly however, our stay was ruined by the dishonesty of Vrbo and the property owners, who at no time told us that there were major roadworks (which began in February 2024) being carried out on the street where the house was located; These began at 7.00 a.m. each day, for the duration of our 14 night stay, barr 3 days. The noise, dust and disruption was total, access to the street extremely limited, and parking impossible. Because we were not made aware of the situation, we were knowingly denied the opportunity to change or cancel our booking without financial penalty right up until the beginning of May, as the owner was well aware that the work was still ongoing and likely not to be completed before our arrival. This was our first - and last - experience of booking through Vrbo.
Vielen Dank nochmal!
Lovely traditional house in residential area. Regular bus services available a few minutes away. Supermarket 5 minutes walk. Chinese takeaway on the corner. Very comfortable. Lovely private roof terrace. Mary very welcoming you so helpful with local information. We thoroughly enjoyed our week had a great stay.
This is a very nice traditional house, ideally located to visit the many historic sites of Malta as well as its modern attractions. The accommodation is excellent and the owner Mary very considerate. It was our first visit to Malta, but definitely not our last.
Very comfortable and in a good central position for travelling around the island by local transport. The apartment was spacious and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Mary was very helpful, especially when we arrived and had a problem with the taxi driver! She kept in touch throughout the week to ensure we were ok. The roof terrace was a lovely place to sit in the evening. It would have been nice to have some trays or a small table to eat off as we did cook at the apartment a couple of evenings. A lovely place to stay and we always new there was assistance if needed. Thank you Mary.
The location could not have been better for exploring this fantastic Island. It has all the comforts of home and to top it all the owner Mary could not have been more helpful
This is a genuine Maltese home set in the midst of a Maltese community.
We decided that we did not wish to stay in a hotel for our holiday but to rather be in an apartment in a Maltese community and this lived up to our expectations. Whilst the kitchen and bathroom are modern style - the shower is excellent - both the bedroom and lounge are furnished in traditional style. There is a small front balcony and a roof terrace.
We were made most welcome right from the start by owner Mary who furnished us with useful information during our stay and there was a very comprehensive folder also containing useful and comprehensive information appertaining to our stay.
We wanted the flexibility of being self catering and the apartment was suitable for that. We were staying in the midst of the local community and so the shops were very much for locals, not tourists, and we liked that. Our favourite was the Pasterizzia at the top end of the street!!
One other big advantage of the location of the property is the excellent bus links with very frequent buses into Valletta - from where you can get a bus to anywhere on Malta - and other routes close by the apartment which you can join directly.
All in all this was an excellent apartment from which to explore the history and culture of Malta which helped us to have the most wonderful and unforgettable holiday and we would be more than happy to return.
