Once again, our family enjoyed this wonderful cottage on Green Lake. Super clean, friendly staff, right across from Rileys, parking for 4-5 vehicles, WONDERFUL pier. We'd recommend this cabin to anyone!
A great location for a week stay. Loved the flat, large yard and shallow bottom. As another reviewer stated, there is a high board on the dock that a few of us stumbled on.
Couldn't have asked for a better cottage to stay in for a small to mid-sized family on Green Lake. Our 8-year old boy enjoyed fishing off the pier. Our 3-year old girl stayed busy with all the toys in the house and shallow water to play in.
We were fortunate to rent this home for Labor Day weekend - our family owned it in the 90âs! To our delight, much of it hadnât changed. It was wonderful to reminisce and take a walk down memory lane.
Located right on beautiful Green Lake, it was a great way to relax and take in the full experience of lake life. We had plenty of space for our family of four to spread out and sleep well.
We spent our days on the pier playing in the calm water and enjoyed the fire pit each night, taking in the stars and blue moon rising.
We are grateful for the opportunity to revisit this property and add new memories to the old.
So the location is good, it is weedy but if you go by end of peer that stops and itâs just a nice sandy bottom. They had two jet ski lifts which is great. Unfortunately unless you have a pontoon boat there is really no safe place to put your boat. Iâm addition right next door is a public pier which is busy all day, folks going to Rileyâs. This really limits privacy and makes it for a busy area to be swimming in. The house is meh, stove is terrible. The grill was disgusting took us over an hour to clean it so all burners would light, that was after replacing propane tank. The beds werenât good either we were all sore even the teens. With all that said we did have a good time. Itâs a nice spot in the lake once you get past all the traffic. As for the house it had AC which was great.
This property is excellent for young families. The house has plenty of sleeping arrangements. It has a cabin feel and has toys for kids. The water depth is perfect for littles and the sandy bottom off the dock is amazing.
The cottage is in a great location, it has all of the basics and is clean, it is dated however and pretty well worn throughout. (Carpet has snags, furniture is worn, paint has marks and chips in it). The location and access to the lake is what you are paying for and itâs totally worth it, but this is the most worn and dated vacation property weâve rented so far.
The boat lift didnât work but we only rented a boat for one day and were able to tie off no problem.
FYI ⊠The VRBO listing has the property listed as pets welcome, but please note that the rental agreement requires that you get approval from the property manager, and it isnât guaranteed, also know that the pet cleaning fee of 200 is per pet, so if you have two dogs total will be 400.
This cottage is in a great location on the terrace of GL. Right Across the street from Riley's Pub.
Glassed/screened in porch has beautiful view of lake. Shallow water for swimming, so it's great for the kids.
Nice to have 2full baths/plenty of towels and bed linens supplied. It worked out great for 8 of us for a week.
Christine is very good with communication and very helpful.
Nice, cozy cabin on a beautiful lake. Property worked well for three families coming together for a weekend to swim, fish, play games, and sit around a fire. Bring your own boat bumpers and rope if bringing a boat.
We stayed for 3 nights & had a wonderful weekend. The porch was all windows and gave us beautiful views of the sunrise daily. Kids got to fish off the dock and we parked our boat off the pier. Beautiful large lake for skiing in the morning, gets a bit rough by afternoon with all the boats. House was charming, older but had all the necessities. Wide array of pots and pans and utensils and party supplies for entertaining. My husband and I used the queen bed room while our kids used the bunk room which slept 6 and one bedroom with 2 twins. Each upstairs room had its own a/c unit so temperatures were controlled by user. One bunk positioned right in front of A/C unit so that person was a bit chilly, so moved to couch downstairs.
One bathroom upstairs for all 3 bedrooms with shower and one downstairs had some starter supplies for all of us. Lotsa towels but bring hairdryer and toothpaste. Mattresses in main bedroom and twin room were good but the bunks room could use new ones. Enough blankets and pillows for all and nice book collection and kids toys too.
Living room had nice tv and comfy couch, kids enjoyed this room and open concept attached sunroom the most. We started our days here or on the pier with our morning tea. House had WiFi but as soon as we drive into the Neighborhood area our cell service didnât work and we couldnât receive any incoming calls or make outgoing calls, texts wouldnât go through. Odd but welcomed as it was a get away from work short vacation anyway. Eventually some of the kids got their texts to go through and were were able to call our friends down the road to go boating. Water is very shallow near pier but weâre able to bring our boat and maneuver around the big green lake. Lotsa seaweed but soft bottom, home is directly across from Reillyâs bar we never went there but would have been a nice addition if it wasnât for Corona virus. We cooked each night and home had all we needed. Thank goodness because no grocery nearby. Bathroom off kitchen had an extra shower and more towels too. Only thing we didnât use was the grill as it was so dirty we didnât want to cook on it, tried scrubbing it after we heated it and it was just caked over with old food/filth, they need to just buy a new one and new scrub brush and keep it clean after every use.
Overall happy with our stay, not the most modern home on the lake, but certainly great for a family get away to take it back to the simpler things in life. Thanks so much!
Overall fantastic! Would recommend this house. The design of the pier is so family friendly. There is one board on the pier that appears to be weak, but otherwise it was fantastic.
This property was chosen specifically for its location on Big Green Lake. Green Lake is known for being one of the nicest lakes in Wisconsin. Our children love to swim and play in the shallow waters right off the shore. The views are spectacular and the people around the lake are fabulous. This had every thing and more than what we could have hope for. We are making such wonderful memories for our children and we hope that you will be able to make some for your children as well.
This is a home away from home. You have all the creature comforts, plus you get to play on the lake all day. Reilly's Pub just down the road and it is a great place for 'adult time' in the evenings and it also offers excellent food throughout the day for the whole family.
It is a quick and easy 3 minute ride to Dodge Memorial Park with children's swing sets, rocky toys and a large sandy beach for the children to play in the sand, fill their pails and make their first sand castle.
