This was our second family reunion at the house and we really appreciate this houseâs existence. Since we came to the house two years ago, we started looking at beach houses for this year but for a Fri-Tuesday rental, it was coming out to 1,500 per room which not all our folks could afford. So then we looked everywhere for houses but they were also coming out to 1,000 per room. The yaya house was about 350/room and just couldnât be beat so we went with it and enjoyed ourselves. Cost wasnât a barrier for anyone and no one took a hit to their pride, having to ask for help financially. Great indoor and outdoor space. Family didnât mind being in annex since the bathroom was added and upgrades made so rooms feel like the main part of the house. We had a heatwave and so we had all the windows open and fans going. We were almost uncomfortable at night but a provided box fan pointed at the bed made a big difference. Hosts were incredibly responsive and friendly. Pictures of view from blowing rock but another great view is within walking distance at the retreat and a lake in TN that we drove to.
Our extended family stayed here for our sonâs destination wedding in Purlear. Unfortunately, the recent hurricane had shut down the Blue Ridge Parkway, which had been our fastest route between VRBO and venue (and made travel between a lot longer). The place is spacious and clean and we will definitely think about coming again for another family gathering!
Easy communication, clean property and felt that the house was the perfect size. We had quite a few people and it felt like we all had our own space but could still see everyone. Better than the pictures and perfect for a weekend. Would love to come again!
Loved this place. big clean private. The only thing about this place that i didn't like was that one of the bedrooms downstairs only have a single bed, and the extra rooms on the annex do not have a restroom, shower, or a sink. if they make one shower/Bathroom in that area it will be awesome. Overall it was great. enjoyed the stay.
This house is perfect for large groups. Anne is amazing to deal with and very helpful! The new fridge and dishwasher was much needed. There was plenty of everything that you might need. Canât wait to stay here again!
Our group of 12 adults (all women), had an amazing weekend at this spacious and comfortable home. The house offers a great mix of spaces where our group could gather, and everyone could retreat to a private space when needed. The communication with Anne, the property manager was outstanding. She provided all the information that we needed and was very responsive to the few questions that we had.The hosts did an outstanding job of thinking about the little details (like hand soap and well-placed nightlights) that make a big difference. The extra refrigerators and small kitchenette were very helpful. Our guests enjoyed walks around the neighborhood. We will definitely be interested in future rentals of this great house.
Our group loved that each of the seven of us had our own bedrooms, and there were plenty of bathrooms. There's a nice spirit of the house. We loved that it is owned by a group of women :) The house is good for people who aren't fussy - the carpet isn't new, the furniture is dated, so one can definitely relax. It would be a good house for people who have kids. We did see a roach in the kitchen. With so much access to the outside, it's probably impossible to keep bugs out but one member of our group was not thrilled to see our little friend immediately upon arrival. The location is great, easy access to Boone. We went to the art of living retreat center to walk and see the sunrises, just .2 miles away (the views from the house are just woodsy so it was nice to see a clear view). They have a vegetarian buffet at the center - it's not great, but if it saved us from cooking one night! There's some maintenance that needs to be addressed. There is a leak under the sink, a toilet was running when we arrived and had to be fussed with to work. (to be fair, we didn't contact the owners about either so I'm not sure if they would have been responsive or not). the check in/out process was very easy and clear. Overall, it was a perfectly fine place for us and would probably work well for any big group that is willing to look past some quirks!
We rented this property for my daughters wedding. We had a large group and used both the house and the annex. The property was perfect for an outdoor wedding and reception. The house more than accommodated all of us without feeling like we were on top of each other. Anne has been a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend this listing!! P. Lewis, Raleigh, NC
This house was perfect for the group of 22 adults. Ample space for gathering.
Check in process was easy and Anne was really good in responding to the queries.
Location is great. Driveway had good gravel, none of the cars had issues getting in or out.
The only suggestion our friends had were to have a bathroom in the basements rooms.
Rest was all good and we had a great time.
First let me say the location was great and the house met our needs. We did a family reunion and engagement announcement we had food out and when everyone came in to eat there were Roaches crawling in the food and we had to throw it all away. Roaches were seen in the bedrooms. I reached out to property manager with no response. The fridge seal was hanging off so nothing would stay cold and still no response from property manager. One of the bedrooms with double beds the box springs were broke on both beds. The grill looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages same with fire pit. Overall the house needs an update on appliances and beds.
Nice location not far from downtown Boone, grocery stores ect.
Nice set up for multi generational families. Plenty of beds and bathrooms.
No air conditioning so would not be comfortable in the heat of summer.
Needs some good cleaning of kitchen, floors and carpets.
We had a great time staying at Devi YaYa. We had 20 people ranging from 5 to 50 and there was PLENTY of room for all of us. Anne was great to work with & very accomodating. We will be back!
The house was large enough for all my motorcycle riders, 14 of us. Very large porch was a nice touch and the fire pit was a good way to relax after a long day of riding local trails.
There were some little problems like no firewood provided, some remote controls from the TV were not working and most of the shower curtains were falling down.
Overall, the group was very happy and we are looking forward to next year already
We loved this stay. The property exceeded our expectations. The hostess was prompt in answering questions or concerns. I would only caution for a group if you are pulling a trailer, back in, or leave the trailer on the road.
This location was perfect for us. I can't think of a way to improve it.
Follow the directions given by hostess, not the GPS.
So many rooms spaced out so noise wasnât a problem if people went to bed and others stayed up. Anne was very responsive and hospitable. Ceiling fans and box fans in every room was very helpful because there is no A/C. Internet was great and reception for Verizon users was just fine. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations.
We had a wonderful time! The house is very roomy and spacious with lots of room to spread out. Also was exceptionally clean and a well stocked kitchen. We lived on the front porch all weekend! Even without air conditioning in July the house was comfortable. We were unable to use the 4 bedrooms in the annex since there is no bathroom for those rooms and the occupants have to come back to the main house. This is clearly stated in the description but I missed it! My fault! But with the large rooms we were able to sleep 20 without using the annex. Overall a wonderful house and we would definitely stay again. And Anne was wonderful to work with. Very helpful and responsive!
The Devi YaYa House is just an easy delightful place to relax. It stands out because it is so large and allows your group to all be under the same roof and still have enough beds and space for privacy.
