A well equipped and spacious villa. Many outside spaces to sit, a pool with a shallow end that was perfect for a 3 year old and 6 year old, a swing a slide and trampoline plus table tennis and boule area.
The layout of the rooms meant there was an upstairs bedroom perfect for grandparents with 3 downstairs bedrooms for grandchildren and parents,
We had a great holiday in this extensive villa with its delightful outside dining facilities and its lovely swimming pool.
The owners and the managers were most helpful and the Villa is clearly a home and has a welcoming appeal to visitors. We enjoyed our stay enormously.
We could not fault the villa other than it would have been nice to have air con (35 degrees every day) but we knew it was fans only before we came and they were fairly effective. The pool is quite large 10 x 5 m and we used the external cooking / bbq area a lot. Thoroughly enjoyed walking down the hill (in the shade!) most mornings for our croissants and baguettes - only takes about 15 mins each way. Salernes itself is pretty low key and doesnât have a huge selection of restaurants, but the villa is so lovely that we we more than happy to eat there most of the time. The highlight of our trip was swimming in Lad de St Croix - as blue as weâve ever seen and warm!
The nice villa was well suited for a family with young children. There were a trampoline, swings and a lot of space outside. The pool was also great for the children since it wasnât too deep on one of the ends. When we visited in April, the heated pool was between 22 and 24 degrees. There was a lot of wind during our stay, so we couldnât eat outside and only took a dip in the pool a couple of times because the weather was rather cool. The villa is located almost at the top of a hill, so it might be exposed to wind, more than the village below, or perhaps we just had bad luck and came during a windy week. I think the big garden with all the olive trees must be beautiful during summertime!
The owners, the caretaker and the cleaning lady were all very welcoming and easy to communicate with. We had no problems or concerns during our stay.
The house was clean and had a lot of equipment in the kitchen. Beds were good and the bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely. Furniture in the nice, open living room was ok.
The drive up to the house itself is on an old, rather narrow road, but we had no problems getting in an out with our big 9-seater Mercedes. Just take it easy.
The house is perfectly located to visit numerous villages and to explore the region.
The property is a wonderfull family home that breathes love and well taken cared for. You feel right at home away from home. The pool is just the right size and there is even a place for jeu de boulles. Absolutely spotless. Great region to be on a holiday with markets near by. The 'var' is the place to be!
