A easy location for Rome in a traditional property
We are a family of 6 and stayed for 5 nights whilst visting Rome. It's easily accessible to Rome and we often drove to Ribbibia Metro station which was an hours drive and then 20mins into the heart of Rome. Also an hour's drive to HydroMania water park. The local village of Casaproto was about 5 mins walk and was a beautiful local village. The property itself was traditional and on the basic side, but cosy none-the-less. Amenities were basic (it was tricky to open the oven door fully because of fridge being in the way) but it was adequate for the price the paid. We had use of the small 5m diameter round pool which was great, although we thought originally we would have the larger rectangular pool. However, the rectangular pool is for a different property. The owner was helpful and available if needed. For the price we paid we were pleased with the property.
The reception and stay was not very hospitable: the owner is very suspicious about his guests. He has cameras to film the whole place and he even checks the garbage. The house was not clean, the furniture and arrangement in general are old and broken, the kitchen is too small to cook in. The waste containers standing close to the house give an unpleasant smell. In short: the house has poor comfort and is not clean. The view and the pool were good, so it wasn't all that bad.
We stayed in August for 2 weeks in the villa of Stefano and had a great time. The house was fine, everything we needed was present in the villa, as long as we kept the shutters closed during the day to keep the heat out, we kept the house cool for the nights. We had access to 2 swimmingpools (!!), where do you find that? Stefano was a great host and always very helpful with advise and information about local sights to visit. We also enjoyed the local yearly festivities which are held in August. The area is very quiet and the view from the swimmingpool or the patio is spectaular. If you want to go to more busier locations, Rome or Rieti are close enough to go to for the day. If I have to mention 1 downside, it might be the access road from the village to Stefano's hideout, It is a dirtroad with a steep hill, It might give some drivers some cold sweat, but if you have driven the road a couple of times no one should have a problem with it. Overall we had a great stay and absolutely endorse Stefano and his hillside paradise! We will come back in the future if we can. Greetings Stefano from Robin, Martina & Dennis.
Nettes kleines Ferienhaus in ruhiger lÀndlicher Umgebung.
We really enjoyed our stay in Casaprota. Stefano is a great host and nothing is too much trouble. The house is basic but has everything you need. The pool area offers spectacular views across the countryside. A lovely week spent exploring Casaprota and surrounding towns and tourist spots.
The hospitality of the owner Stephano was truly outstanding. He made us feel so welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The property we stayed in was modern and very clean with all the necessaries need for a comfortable stay. The location of the house is stunning, and the tranquillity of the views are breath taking. We were invited to try a home made pizza from the wood burning oven, the best pizza in Italy!!! Fact.
We will certainly be returning and would definitely recommend.
