Récemment rénové! Niché sur un chemin privé calme, cette 4-saison maison offre un espace de vie ensoleillée avec des plafonds à double hauteur. En outre, il y a trois belles chambres et deux salles de bains. Cette maison peut accueillir un maximum de 6 personnes - pas plus de 5 adultes. Récemment rénové et restauré pour un maximum de confort avec la climatisation centrale et de la chaleur. Magnifique coin cuisine avec comptoirs en granit et comptoir petit-déjeuner supplémentaire. La cuisine ouvre sur une grande terrasse en bois avec barbecue en été. Une salle à manger séparée est hors de la cuisine. Il y a aussi une laveuse et une sécheuse pour votre commodité. grand pont avant supplémentaire est parfait pour se détendre sur une chaude journée d'été. La plate-forme est accessible depuis le salon ou dans la cour avant.
Une courte promenade à travers la rue mène au lac, où le kayak, le canotage, la baignade et la pêche sont toutes les options d'activité.
Ceci est une belle maison pour un rendez-vous paisible et sereine avec des amis ou en famille.
En hiver, le ski est à seulement 15 minutes à Catamount Ski Resort.
Au printemps, la relaxation et antiquing est disponible dans les environs de Hudson, NY (30 minutes) et Great Barrington, MA (30 minutes).

A very pleasant weekend!

My family and I had a lovely time staying at this cottage in Ancram. The setting was pretty and the towns nearby were charming. It was what we needed for a quiet weekend.

Did the trick

We had to stay in the area for a family wedding and this did the trick. Comfortable enough. Beautiful lake on property which made it extra special. Our little girls enjoying rolling down the big hill by the water :)

Memorial Day Get away

Overall very comfortable stay and convenient location. House was clean and not overly cluttered. Jen the property manager was very responsive and helpful. Pond fishing was decent and location was quiet. Would stay here again.

Comfortable home with great amenities

We had a wonderful time at this home. The house abuts a working barn and we watched the horses and goats while having morning coffee. Also the lake right across the road is beautiful and we enjoyed kayaking there. Perfect for a family of 4!

Sitting on the dock... and nothing but clear skies.

This property was exactly what we were looking for, offering both peace and privacy. We were greeted by the sounds of goats and birds chirping, creating a tranquil atmosphere. A few feet away, across a dirt road, we enjoyed a leisurely walk through the grassy hillside to the dock by the lake. The tennis courts were just a convenient quarter-mile ride down the road, where we also discovered a well-equipped gym with all the exercise equipment one could ever need. It all combined to make this a fantastic weekend getaway destination.

Summer in the Berkshires - What a delight!

We just completed our second stay in this property and it was exactly as described. The cottage is roomy, clean, comfortable, located on a lake (we swam several times), and near other Berkshire towns and Upstate NY towns. We went to farmer's markets, biked, and hiked. I highly recommend it for couples and families.

Cozy house in the woods

Very cozy and clean house in the beautiful environment. Short drive to both Hudson and Great Barrington. The only negative was no heating during the night and the extra soft mattress, which was bas for my back. I imagine staying here in spring and summer is really enjoyable.

Great winter break vacation in Berkshires!

This property more than met our expectations. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We were able to access two different areas for skiing and snowboarding while also enjoying downtime in the cottage. Great Barrington was a 30-minute drive and fun for shopping. I would recommend this property and would stay again any time of year. Thank you, Jenifer, for creating such a welcoming and comfortable cottage.

Disappointing

For a home charging over $300 per night, I expected much better bathrooms and a sink faucet that more than a dribble comes out. The cheap plastic shower with no grab bar and just placed in the corner of the main bathroom was less than ideal to use. Refrigerator needs to be replaced. Rusty and ancient. Some towels had large holes in them. Not a four star property by any means!! Also needs bushes cut along the house.

Peaceful October Getaway

Home was immaculate and floor plan well thought out for a party of four adult friends. Lovely comfortable furniture, quiet neighborhood. The porches were perfect for relaxing, grilling and enjoying the fall foliage and goat farm next door. A few issues need attention, however. Back porch steps were broken upon our arrival, making it quite precarious unloading our car as we are in our 80s. We couldn't get dishwasher to work so had to wash the few dishes there by hand with no drying rack. We like to cook most meals at home and were disappointed in lack of small amenities to make that easier such as a cookie sheet or two, spatula, decent can opener, newer saute pans. Also, back right stove burner needs attention - flame kept going out while burner was on. The code to access boathouse didn't work for us. If those minor things are addressed, we'd stay here again in a minute!

Very Cosy cottage

Tastefully decorated (we liked the interior colors a lot), clean, pet friendly. Nice owner. Easy in/out. We have family we visit in area a couple of times a year. This is our second stay here and would do so again.

Must see the sunrise

Nice clean home only a short walk to a lake/pond with incredible sunrise over the water. Not sure if it’s 365 days but we stayed Labor Day weekend. Very quiet location that’s a short drive to neighboring towns.

In the Ancram Woods.

The house was wonderful and cozy. Peaceful surroundings- with the occasional happy cheering from the local camp on the lake in the background. AC worked great during the oh so hot days of August. Walking our dog was a morning delight of deers and bunnies passing through to the lake. The neighbors were friendly. Jenifer was responsive when power went for a few hours and when cable was not working. I was traveling with my mom who uses a walker my note to anyone in that situation - it’s an older house where the doorways to the bathroom were too narrow to accommodate a walker. A little challenging at first but we made it work. Who knew?? My only suggestion to Jenifer is to get the lease and release to guests at the moment a reservation is made so it can be read thru and signed - and questions asked if needed. It’s a lengthy lease. We have rented many other places and this long lease was a first. We loved taking drives through the pastoral surroundings exploring and found local places - Copake General Store, Dad’s Diner and The Greens Restaurant great finds! Oh and The Taconic Sculpture Park (near Austerlitz) is amazing. We miss Ancram!!

Wonderful summer getaway

We enjoyed two relaxing weeks at this clean, comfortable, well-equipped cottage by a lake. We loved having a grill on the deck, a hammock in the back yard, and kayaks on the water. The maintenance/management staff are friendly and super responsive. The setting feels private (the friendly neighboring homeowners were not there full time) and is quiet and serene. Be aware that a children's summer camp is across the lake, and you will hear their amplified music and announcements when outside. The sound doesn't spoil the overall experience, however, and we would not hesitate to return.

Poor experience and service

It was our worst experience on VRBO to date. To give some context, we are a family of 5 that includes 3 children under 5. We are used to travel and have seen many houses over the years. Our experiences have been very positive until this time. Where to begin… 1. Electrical hazards: we had to play electrician the whole weekend. We lost power countless of times in several rooms of the house, including the kitchen, second bathroom and the small Den where our 2 years old was sleeping. Each time we lost power we had to go in the electrical cabinet to identify the right switch to turn back on. The whole system is clearly inappropriate to support the electrical requirements of the house raising alarmingly the risks of electrical fire, especially since the house is mostly built with wood. Saying we didn’t feel secure is an understatement. 2. Freezing cold in the house: because the electrical system is so inappropriate we lost power several times; as a result, the heating system of the house got switched off. Although we brought to the attention of the manager of the house that the heating system seemed out of service, no workable solution was found. The result is that we spent a night in a freezing cold house. It was 57F when we got out of bed the next morning (we have pix). Our 2 years old is still recovering from that bad cold he caught that night. 3. No house supplies: there were no shower/bath products, no breakfast items, no cooking/dressing oil. We always bring along our own products anyway but always have found in other houses we went a satisfying level of house supplies. Not in this one. Overall, we were really disappointed in the house and the service. We will definitely never go back there. Even though we got a very bad experience, we left the house in spotless conditions as it is always the case when we use other peoples house (we have pix).

Very pleasant

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. Furniture was comfortable. It was difficult to keep the house at a comfortable temperature and we needed to leave the bedroom doors open to keep the air flowing. However, we also stayed during a weekend with record low temperatures. Jenifer was very responsive and helpful. We had an issue with the coffee maker and she brought a replacement over quickly and also brought a space heater to help warm the place up. We would definitely stay again!

We had a very comfortable stay. The interior is very nice. Well furnished. Clean. We were visiting relatives nearby and really enjoyed the place and would certainly stay there again.

Just what we needed!

Our stay at the cottage was a well needed break and time away with friends. The house was very clean. The queen beds were incredibly comfortable which something that we appreciate when staying in a VRBO. The kitchen was well equipped for meals. And the frequent visits by the goats at the fence were a huge hit for our 2 and 6 year olds - built in entertainment! Only 3 miles to center of Copake where the general store, wine shop and deli / pizzeria were a perfect place to get items. Thank you!
