À propos de cet hébergement

La cabane est située sur 650 acres de forêt privée, à côté du sentier de randonnée North Country et de la rivière Clarion, mais à seulement quelques minutes de Clarion, en Pennsylvanie. La cabine est disponible toute l'année.

Entre les mois de mai et novembre, un espace de quai sur la rivière Clarion est fourni afin que vous puissiez amarrer votre bateau, votre kayak, nager, pêcher ou simplement vous détendre sur la rivière. Cette section de la rivière Clarion fournit environ 14 miles d'eau profonde pour les amateurs de ski nautique et de jet-ski ou de pagaie facile pour une variété d'autres sports nautiques.

De plus, la propriété abrite environ 4 miles du North Country Trail administré par les parcs nationaux. La cabane de la cathédrale, du nom des fenêtres de l'église rénovées et de la cathédrale de la forêt, se trouve sur le sentier. Mettez vos chaussures de randonnée, ouvrez la porte, descendez du porche et votre randonnée commence. Les clients peuvent choisir parmi au moins 4 débuts de sentiers différents pour commencer une courte randonnée ou marcher sur toute la longueur du sentier sur cette propriété. Les randonneurs ambitieux peuvent marcher de la cabane jusqu'à la forêt de Cook sans quitter le sentier.

La cabine de la cathédrale a été achevée à la fin de l'automne de cette année, 2014. Il a une cuisine complète avec des armoires en bois franc natif Cherry, une demi-salle de bain au rez-de-chaussée et une salle de bain complète avec douche en pierre d'ardoise dans le grenier. Idéalement adapté pour un couple ou des adultes et leurs enfants, il peut accueillir jusqu'à six personnes. Le plan d'étage ouvert offre beaucoup d'espace pour manger et vivre à l'intérieur avec un porche couvert unique pour le divertissement en plein air. Le foyer élargit l'expérience de vie en plein air et rend difficile la fin de la journée. Si vous aimez le naturel, vous aimerez la cabine de la cathédrale. Les murs en érable noueux, les plafonds à poutres apparentes en pruche, les planchers en sassafras et en mélèze sont rehaussés de quelques murs aux couleurs vives pour créer un environnement de cabane joyeux. Le mobilier ancien et rustique donne le ton à un séjour relaxant et amusant dans la nature. N'oubliez pas, cependant, que cette propriété boisée de 650 acres est à seulement quelques minutes de la communauté universitaire de Clarion, en Pennsylvanie et de l'Interstate 80, avec un accès facile aux commerces et divertissements.
Votre GPS vous amènera sur notre route, 2938 Doe Run Road, Shippenville, PA. Mais probablement pas l'emplacement exact. Si vous entrez dans Doe Run Rd par l'ouest, vous continuerez sur environ 3 km et / ou jusqu'à ce que vous voyiez un bâtiment / maison (actuellement en construction) sur votre droite. Immédiatement avant le bâtiment est l'allée de retour à la cabine. Si vous entrez par l'est (Rte 322), vous irez environ 4000 ’sur Doe Run. Sur la gauche est un bâtiment / maison (actuellement en construction), tournez à gauche immédiatement après la construction sur l'allée de la cabine,

The cabin is in a nice part of the area.. close to everything yet far enough away. There are some upkeep items the owner could do.. correct the wifi situation.. update/clean outdoor furniture / fire pit situation. The cabin amenities need a refresh.

Charming Cabin in the Woods

My husband and I stayed here with two of our friends. The cabin is the perfect size for a group of 4. It is settled in the middle of the woods right off of the North Country trail. It is a 20 min drive to Cook Forest and 2.5 miles from Downtown Clarion. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the inside of the cabin. There is a main bedroom and a smaller bedroom upstairs. You have to go through the main bedroom to get to the full bathroom and the rooms are right next to each other. We knew about the close sleeping quarters prior to this and it wasn’t an issue for us. The sheets were clean and fresh. There is also a half bathroom downstairs. There is a complete stocked kitchen with a stove/oven and a full size fridge. The outside of the cabin, though needing a little bit of care was also very nice. We enjoyed hanging out on porch. There is a charcoal grill included. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The owner got us hooked up with firewood. He was extremely responsive to all of our needs and easy to deal with. This property does advertise a dock, which is a hike through the woods or a short drive around the corner. We did go to that area and really enjoyed the viewing platform. However, there did not seem to be what we would consider a dock at the bottom. There are very steep stairs down to the river that would be difficult to carry a kayak down. That definitely was not a deal breaker though. Overall, we had a really great stay and would definitely come back again.

Beautiful and quiet location

We were looking for a quiet location, close enough to civilization, yet far enough away from the noise. This is it. An enjoyable Friday through Monday stay. Clean and well kept, as well as well appointed. The hosts are fantastic, and the hiking was grand. The library of books is wonderful, and the selection of videos is eclectic. Highly recommended for a brief respite from the daily grind. We'll be back, as well as recommending this location to our friends, which is the greatest compliment. Thank you so much for the opportunity to unwind!

Nice peaceful little cabin

Me, my wife, her sister and brother-in-law spent Fri and Sat nights here. The cabin was nice and well kept. It rained all day Sat, we stayed inside most of the day. We ventured out to check out the dock and platform right on the Clarion River. There was plenty to do inside the cabin, we watched a movie and worked a puzzle. Brian checked in on us and gave us directions to a couple of restaurants and breweries. We had a great time and would come again.

If you’re looking for a nice, clean secluded cabin not too far from town, this is your place. Truly enjoyed our stay and can’t say enough good things about the owner. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as good as it be!!

Cute comfy cabin. Recommend if you plan on cooking to bring your own mixing/salad bowl and favorite omelette skillet. I knew to bring my own casserole dishes for warming up dinner.

Peace and quiet

We enjoyed our stay at Bryan and Jeans Cathedral cabin. We did a little hiking and driving while there. We sat out at the fire pit every night. The weather was perfect until the day we left and it started raining.The leaves were falling so hard it sounded like rain.We didn't see a lot of wild life but we did see a piebald deer which was neat. Hope to return again someday. Thanks for sharing your rustic cabin.

Chill Location for Active People

The property was very nice. The bedrooms are connected so don't expect privacy. But it was perfect for my sister and me. The private dock in the Clarion River was fantastic for swimming and kayaking and the North Country Trail was steps from the back door. Nice big front porch for hanging out. Bryan and Jean were great--communicative and kind. Be sure to read the description carefully for details on locating the cabin.

The perfect place to just get away.

This was a down time trip for me to just be away and in nature. Cathedral will do just that. I spent most of the time enjoying the porch and all the views and then stepped out a few hundred feet to catch a trail. All you need is supplied . I am eager to book again!

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Enjoyable stay. The cabin was very clean, and well furnished. Bryan had it well supplied with everything from cookware, food staples, bedding, etc. In particular, we enjoyed relaxing on the deck, and using the fire pit and outdoor grill. Everything that we intended to do was in close proximity. Cook Forest and The Allegheny National Forest were nearby. We hope to one day return.

Overall a bit disappointing

The cabin is nice. However the bedroom situation could be a bit awkward. One has to go through the other’s room to get to the bathroom. Didn’t bother us too much but I can imagine it might for some. It’s advertised as having WiFi and cable tv which it does not. When we arrived many of the outlets were out and we had to look for the breaker box which we did find and corrected so no big deal. It’s not on the river. You have to go down a street to get to the owner’s dock which has very steep steps and we were afraid we would hurt ourselves trying to get our kayaks up and down there, so we opted to go to the public launch in Clarion. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen and black ants in the bedroom and bathroom. We placed trash in the trash can outside which wasn’t secured so something got into it during the night and made a lot of racket and a mess that we had to clean up. I called the owner about these things but never got a reply. None of these things would be a deal breaker but taken altogether, I probably wouldn’t rent this cabin again.

Beautiful Hideaway

The cabin was beautiful and secluded back in the woods. The owner was so generous and kind. Access to the North Country Trail was awesome and we had the trail pretty much to ourselves! We got to see a deer and her baby walk right next to the cabin. It felt like a home away from home and we hope to stay again!

Great base for hiking

Spent a great long weekend hitting the trails with the cabin as a base camp. Cathedral Cabin is beautiful and comfortable, a fantastic base camp for the NCT, Cook Forest, Clear Creek, and more. Highly recommend the scenic loop of the NCT that you can hike right to from the cabin! Suggest bringing your own cookware if you're planning much cooking beyond pasta or a frozen meal, pans on hand are a bit warped and beat-up. Also there's no exhaust fan for the stove, so setting the smoke detector off is very easy. Still nice to have a full kitchen set up.

Fall getaway

We had a great trip. The cabin was found with good directions. The check in process was as easy as could be. The cabin was clean. It’s a good location for hiking in the near by state parks or right out the front door on the north country trail.

Darling cabin.

We had a great time. The cabin was fine. Location great. Quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was cute and fairly well stocked. Silverware for 4. Lots of plates. No mixing bowls. Keurig and coffee pot. Tiny grill is charcoal. Full sized fridge and stove. The beds are very comfortable but be aware that they are small and if you are with anyone other than family it may be awkward sleeping arrangements. You must walk past those sleeping in the loft to leave the “bedroom“ to use the bathroom. We solved the problem by luckily packing air mattresses and placing them downstairs in the living area. The “platform” was a nice place to enjoy drinks and snacks after a day of hiking and/or kayaking. The owners were responsive and very friendly. The cabin was clean and safe. We enjoyed our stay.

Clarion University for nearly 30 years and Jean was a Reading Specialist for about the same time. Both now enjoy sharing their property with other nature lovers and meeting interesting folks.

Bryan came to this area from the outskirts of Philadelphia and Jean is a life ling resident. Bryan came to teach at Clarion University and this is now his home. Bryan is an avid builder that sees their properties and their surroundings as personal and a\natural art.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

650 acres of lush forest located on the Clarion River/Lake. Hike the North Country Trail, Hike or bike the Route 66 Trail, swim in the River. Do any and all of the above without leaving the property or biking a few minutes away to the 50+ Route ^^ Trail.
If so inclined, bring your ATV and ride the surrounding township Open Roads. Venture a few miles away and ride the 24 mile Piney Rail Rider corridor between Brookville and Clarion. Only licensed, registered ATV's driven by courteous, respectful riders are encouraged to use our place as a place to begin a great ride.
