Very nice! Good location for all our activities- Biltmore, waterfall hikes, WNC wildlife refuge, Folk Art Center on the Parkway. Nice decks and game room. Plenty of room for all of us!
Repeat booker. Love this place. Basement is awesome. Huge outdoor fireplace. Quiet neighborhood. Kitchen well appointed. Not one negative thing to say about this place. Will be back for sure.
Very nice spacious cabin. Plenty of room for our family of 6, plus more. The basement was enjoyed quite a bit by the kids playing ping pong, pool, and foosball.
Weâre had a great time here! We were close enough to restaurants, shopping, and attractions that we could plan lots of things to do. We were also in such a secluded place that we enjoyed playing in the game room and sitting outside on the various decks to enjoy the view. A definite place to plan a family trip!
We have stayed in many VRBO homes before but this has been our favorite! This is an extremely comfortable, clean, and spacious home near all the fun activities in the mountains. The game room and outdoor fireplace are amazing! The host is kind and easily reached. It is a place I would love to stay again. Thank you so much!
This is our second time visiting, and we couldnât have been happier. The house is first class, and there is plenty of room for a family to spread out and have a great time. We loved the huge outdoor fireplace, the pool and ping pong tables, and hiking up the mountain. If youâre thinking about booking, do it!
Classy log cabin with all the amenities. Lots of indoor space, cleverly decorated and fantastic outdoor living space. Our family enjoyed many meals on the granite picnic table and s'mores at the outdoor fireplace. Best family vacation! Lots of great hiking!
The only negative was the clothes dryer did not heat and therefore could not dry.
We certainly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. John was very easy to work with and responded quickly to requests. The cabin was very spacious and clean. We loved the covered porch and fireplace and it was great during the rain. The location was quiet and just far enough away from town but still easy to get to to visit. We tried out a couple of the breweries and liked Blue Ridge Biscuit Co. The Recreation park has some nice trails and we took the dogs there for a walk. The Lake Tomahawk Park is nice also and there are some great greenway trails at both parks and a nice place for running from one to the other
Our group of 7 adults booked this cabin for a mini family reunion. The cabin was perfect for our needs. Four spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and convenient en suite bathrooms. But the public areas of the cabin are what sets it apart. Lots of outside seating both covered and uncovered with a lovely granite topped dining table and comfortable chairs and couches surrounding a beautiful stone fireplace. Inside the upstairs living room had lots of leather couches and chairs, big screen TV and good lighting. The dining room was spacious and the kitchen very serviceable. The downstairs game room was fantastic! Pool table, ping pong table and foosball plus fireplace and bar. The cabin is located in a very quiet area on the mountainside above Black Mountain, and about a 25 minute drive to downtown Asheville. We enjoyed the cabin and the location very much.
The house is wonderful - clean, well-stocked, and spacious. We absolutely loved the outdoor fireplace and grill area. The rooms were perfect for kids and grandparents. The hot tub needed cleaning and refilling, but the owners responded right away and got it taken care of. Our stay did overlap with two nights of the LEAF music festival, which we could definitely hear from the cabin. Also during our last night, there was a wedding at the same venue and we could hear the loud music. Neither of these bothered us, but if you're sensitive to noise, I recommended checking the festival dates. The big downside to our trip, which was not at all the fault of the owners, was that there were several unleashed dogs roaming near the cabin. Our one-year-old labrador retriever was so excited to meet these unfamiliar dogs, that she managed to bolt out the front door a few times while my kids went in and out. She barked and ran around for a minute or two, but came back into the house when we called her. However, the neighbor came by to yell at my mom from the road about controlling our dog. She is elderly and doesn't speak English so didn't respond. By the time I got out there, he had worked himself up into a huff and stormed away. Turns out, he called the cops to say that we had an "aggressive dog" and an armed deputy sheriff showed up at the house with a dog catcher truck. The cop laughed and shook his head when he saw our wiggly lab, but the whole incident really freaked out my kids, who thought their dog was going to prison. Anyway, would be good to keep this in mind if you have dogs. Be extra careful and know that there are unleashed dogs in the neighborhood.
The pictures of this house do not do it justice. It's spacious, clean, and plenty of room for a big family getaway. The basement area makes the house unique. We could send the kids down there to entertain themselves for hours, and adults had fun playing pool and watching TV as well. There were plenty of towels and linens, the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans, utensils, and basic supplies. There were also plenty of paper goods and laundry supplies. And one of my favorite things - the furniture was really, really nice! So many times I've stayed in a VRBO with beaten-up, cheap furniture that you don't really want to touch, let alone snuggle down in. But everything in this home was high quality, durable, clean, and comfortable. The house is about 15 minutes from shops and restaurants in Black Mountain, and 30 minutes from Asheville. There is a giant, beautiful grocery store about 15 minutes away as well as a Starbucks. We will definitely be back!
Spent a full week here with extended family. Young children, adults, and grandparents all had plenty of room without feeling crowded. The kitchen was very well stocked and there were lots of activities for kids. The downstairs activity space was especially nice, and we appreciated that there was a full pile of firewood available for our nightly bond fires. Wish there was a fridge in the downstairs bar so we could've actually used it and more than one trash can outside, but overall very happy and would stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your home is lovely and very spacious. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor covered porch with the fireplace. The outdoor setting was lovely.
The cabin felt like home. The basement is an oasis for a family. I'm not sure I've seen a better basement in a cabin. There as plenty of room and it did not take long to get to surrounding areas. Great cabin!
The house was clean, plenty of room and loved the porch and fireplace. The young adults loved the game room downstairs. The extra bathrooms were great to have.
Great home- great response from owner for minor issue.. we loved the home and the area- it was a steep location so keep in mind for little jr people..
We house hunted from the home and really enjoyed Black mountain- restaurants are great and easy to pick up from- keep in mind the kitchen, grill set up is really great to cook in.. we did burgers one night and it was perfect
Storms blew in last night- wonderful sitting under roof open patiođđ
What a beautiful home. It was the ideal spot for myself, my 3 grown children and their significant others. Plenty of space for everyone. Close enough to Asheville and all it has to offer. A beautiful location to unwind after a day of hiking. Enjoyed relaxing evenings by the outdoor fireplace. The kitchen is well stocked and was perfect for the private chef we had one evening. Plenty of dishes, silverware and glassware.
Unfortunately the hot tub had an unexpected issue the day before our arrival. John was very upfront about it and did everything he could to accommodate us.
Thank you for sharing this amazing property!

Beautiful very large home, perfect for family vacations.
The house was exactly like the pictures in beautiful, picturesque Black Mountain. Restaurants and shops in Black Mountain were 15 mins away and it was an easy 20 min ride into Asheville. Great experience! Have already been discussing returning next year to the same house.
Perfect spot for a relaxing get away. Beautiful house, with great amenities. Brought our two kids, and 3 grandparents in their 70âs. 20-30 Min from attractions like the nature center and Biltmore. Kids loved the hot tub and soaking tub which were both spotless. Plenty of linens, pillows, towels and paper products -much appreciated! Our family had a great time in the lower level on rainy days- perfect for games and puzzles! Spent evenings in front of the outdoor fireplace and on nice days ate outside. Brought our 2 dogs, and had a nice morning walks up and down the mountain to the lakes, (pretty active grandparents couldnât manage the climb back up). did meet multiple unleashed dogs wandering along the way, so if your dog is reactive good to plan. Road to the house is steep and gravel, totally manageable in a low gear. Take it slow to watch for other cars, as some parts would be very tricky to navigate if another was going in the direction. Town of Black Mountain was lovely, very walkable, cute shops, and we really enjoyed eating and meeting the animals at Bush. We loved our trip and hope to come back next year!
This cabin has been the fulfillment of a family dream that started years ago. As soon as you step into the front door you will recognize the love we have for our cabin and the surrounding area. We designed our log home with many unique design ideas to make it feel warm, bright, open and inviting, and especially well suited for hosting those special 'whole family' events.
Some of the superlatives of the home include the massive outdoor covered porch complete with huge stone fireplace. The fireplace itself is almost 8 feet wide and is designed to burn logs up to 4 feet long . Moreover, we have provided 8 'Amish Bent Hickory Rocking Chairs' to fully enjoy this outdoor living area.
The home is designed with very high ceilings and lots of glass to allow plenty of natural mountain light to enter each room.
To further compliment the rustic beauty of the home, it is furnished with high end furniture. Many of them antiques of over 150 years old! Plus many original paintings by local artists. It has a very entertaining turn of the century player piano complete with over 120 song rolls, including most all the popular Christmas tunes.
The log cabin is easily accessed by any car year around via an excellent road. And only a couple miles off I 40. The Biltmore House is only a short and easy 15 minute drive away.
The hot tube sits on the expansive rear porch, immediately adjacent to the Master Suit and can be accessed directly from the Master bedroom.
Our cabin is located immediately adjacent to Camp Rockmont for Boys. The home has all the latest and most innovative technology. Including 'lightning fast' high speed internet with whole house and porch WiFi, Huge smart TVs with surround sound in living room. The smart TV's are complete with Netflix and Hulu, Satellite, Wii' Gaming system with flat screen, deluxe 7 person Hot Tub, and an expansive outdoor covered porch w/ massive wood burning stone fireplace (perfect for entertaining or intimate evenings with loved ones)!
Every room in our cabin was designed to allow beautiful 'Mountain Light ' to gently filter throughout the home, giving it a bright and airy feel.
Our favorite feature of the home is the Grand Covered porch with it's massive wood burning fireplace.
The home is stocked with board games and a Wii with multiple Wii games for the kids.
There is a 7 person hot tube on the rear deck immediately beside the Master Bed Room. The rear deck and hot tub both afford beautiful mountain views!
Our cabin is very private.
Located very close to excellent hiking.
The front porch with it's Amish made porch swing is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the cool mountain breezes rolling down the mountain. Plus it is a wonderful place to relax with a warm cup of coffee and look for the wildlife that frequent the area.
